Merril, I had just gotten into detecting and was paralyzed. I’ve been watching all the detectors on TH-cam, just because I’m so obsessed with the hobby. I’m the luckiest guy in the world 🌎 because I’m getting my ability to walk again. Seriously I was totally paralyzed and today I walked 50’ with a walker. So now I’m try to learn as much as I can because l intend to get back into the hobby.
I love how technical you can get. I don’t understand a lot of the jargon but will learn. I’m going to buy that book too. Your channel is different because you spend so much time “teaching” I love it. You’re the third subscription I have. I only subscribe to good stuff. Keep swinging and recording man.

@@MetalDetectingNYC I have run my own offshore charters since 1994 out of Anna Maria island Florida. I actually worked on a treasure finding ship for 8 months. That’s where I was introduced to metal detectors. Most people think I’m full of it when I told them my life story. I’m now adding this. Come on, give me a detector, I’ll find proof of Aliens from outer space, with The way my luck is going. I mean really, when I work out and it sucks a lot, I just think about how lucky I am to get this chance. I really do enjoy the videos, and you’re right on with how much water moves sand. I had fishing spots that are located by GPS. At high tide they might be 28 feet deep. A hurricane comes through and now it’s 37 feet deep. Another hurricane comes through and it’s 21 feet deep. That’s why the treasure hunting boats are thick as thieves after a hurricane on what they consider the gold coast, or treasure coast in southeastern Florida.

Very nice pendant. I have been lucky just beyond the volume areas on the beach. Regular hunters come in and consistently hit volume spot on regular basic and don't allow stuff to accumulate while ignoring the areas nearby.

The hat is awesome Merrill, I like it. Probably the best non-detected visuals is a pair of Prada sunglasses that my daughter got.... And non-slip mats off a fishing vessel that I found in the local estuary. They now sit graciously around the swim spa.

I like to think of the algorithm that the universe created for that individual drop that and for you to walk right to that spot and swing your coil over it. What a beautiful thing..... Hey Merrill, cool medallion, I don't know if you researched it yet, but That image on the back, Where it looks like a big M, It's actually the simble for, the straits of Gibraltar, piller and waves, Where the mediterranean sea, meets the Atlantic ocean, Goes back to the early 1500s, So the V shape, Is actually roman letter u for "ultra"
Which means, beyond, Or the more popular "plus ultra," Which means, "more beyond", new world, exploration, I researched it years ago, because I have that same image, on a piece of silvershard, from a

yep its all about pure luck some days detecting. I found my first big gold with the Legend a couple weeks ago it was a big thick heavy 14kt gold chain and 14kt big gold catholic pendant on it turned out to be 55 grams in gold!!! My biggest gold find with the Legend.

Tested my Minelab Vanquish 340 in my new yard yesterday. I nearly had a heat stroke but couldn`t wait any longer. Mosquitoes finally ran me inside. It`s a garbage dump here but I found a pocket full of coins (24 coins) and an Old Timer pocket knife. I was very impressed with target separation when I got a quarter signal in coin mode, then dug a giant rusty nail from the hole, but then located the quarter in the same hole with my pinpointer.

When they come up green and all the sand touching them rubs off green. That’s the bottom. It’s been there a while and nothing else has been deposited at that level recently. Usually when I find leaching green there’s possibly a bunch of stuff up high. Or at least I know I’m at a lower old level and most likely it’s a good flat deposit. 👍🏻👍🏻

Merrill that fishing lure is called a “Deadly Dick”. Here in NC we use them for Blue fish Spanish Mackerel and Grey Trout.

A variation of beach sensitive. Pump up the beach sensitivity to 9. Disc to 0. Disc reduces depth. Turn up audio response. Bcap at 5. Reactivity to 2.5.

Congrats on the gold question do you use the double d walk back with the D2 it's the only way I pinpoint even with my Minelab and as far as griding the 🏖️ that depends if you are in the wet or dry sand if you're in a popular area where lots of people sit you grid the dry sand 👍🦀
