    I've always loved black powder for as long as I can remember. Excellent shooting kit you have, no bells and whistles needed, just the minimum gear for your hunt/trek. Hope your hunt went well. Anytime spent out in the woods is a reward in itself!

    Thanks Dave. Sam Fadala is a big promoter of using Paper Hornet nest material in muzzleloaders. It helps to not scorch the patch, to get a more consistent barrel pressure. Put just a small wad on the powder charge before you seat the patched ball.

    Since you're using fluff wadding have you ever tried copper speedloaders? You can take a copper tube the same diameter or a little bigger then that's 72 put a bull cap on one end load your powder fluff then ball and bull plug it again. I always mark one of my bull plugs to let me know which end is the powder. It's a pretty quick speedloader system. And works with shot also. Great video and happy Hunting.Keep your eye on the skyline and keep your powder dry.

    I saw your videos on using the 12 gauge as a black powder rifle and I have taken what you showed and used it with my own as I don't have the same type shotgun that you have I do have a single shot Ria traditions 12 gauge shotgun that I use the same way it only has smoothbore I do not have the rifle board and I wish I did but I carry pretty much everything that you just described there except that I don't have a round ball mould. I also used an empty 45-70 shell to use as my powder measure although I don't use the whole thing. Anyway that works fantastic I'm very pleased with the way I have mine set up and I'm sure you are also. As I don't have lead shot I use BB's when I want to shoot shot that is until I can come up with some lead shot but I do have the stuff to melt it and make my own round ball once I ever get a mould. It would do people to watch your videos on that because it teaches exactly what you were just talking about. By the way I don't use the short Lanes adapter but I do use a 12 gauge cut off shotgun shell but you still have to catch it before it flies out and you still have to clean it like you would your adapter only a few extra steps that's all. I really do like shooting this little single shot that way. Thank you so much for those videos they really did help me to shoot my little single shot shotgun. PS I also tried it with my grandson's 410 and it works great that way also. Thanks for the video and always remember to stay vigilant! Sorry this was so long.

    You could easily make provisions to attach a ramrod to that shotgun. Silver solder a ramrod pipe onto the barrel, then drill a hole lengthwise through the forend. You may have to offset it to the right or left to clear the latch assembly but those forends are pretty beefy so you should be good to go. Then just remove the ramrod when your using cartridges.

    Love you content Dave. However you have the info for the SB1 and the SB2 backwards. The SB1 is the non high pressure caliber frame ( 12ga, 20ga, 30-30 etc). The SB2 is the frame that can handle the high pressure calibers (30-06 .243 etc). SB1 frames are ductile(cast) iron, SB2 are investment cast alloy steel. Amazing video otherwise. I just think you got the information mixed up. Please keep up the great work and never stop doing what you do.

    Hey there David I've been a big fan for years and I plan on visiting your school some day for a course. I have been tattooing professionally for 13 years and I would jump at the chance to breathe some new life into your ink there chief. No offence intended I just know I could make them SOLID for the rest of your life and would do it free of charge. I would obviously show you pictures of my work first but if this is something you would be interested in I could bring my machines and and everything necessary to do the job perfectly. Sterilant chemicals and single use hermetically sealed supplies included. This would be my gift to you as a fan brother and for the privilege of knowing I tattooed David Canterbury.

I got 3 deer tags filled this season and now, it's coyote season so the 12GA NEF Single Shot is oiled & cleaned and I have my vintage camera pouches that I pick up at garage sales & flea markets for 25 cents filled with various shells in my $2 canvas shoulder bag.

  • @Chilly_Billy
    @Chilly_Billy ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I wonder if this adapter would be legal for PA's muzzleloader season? I know they have said an AR with its gas system removed, making it a manually operated single shoot, is still illegal for deer. (Dumb, I know, but that's our Game Commission.)

    • @skylerspear9044
      @skylerspear9044 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats a good question! Id recommend checking with your local game warden office. I doubt this adapter would be legal in Minnesota because of a statute having to do with muzzleloading revolvers. But because of the way its worded a Judge could interpret it to mean any gun with the POSSIBILITY of being loaded from the breach.
