Bought mine from Wal-Mart in 97.
    $99 dollars all day long.
    Man you can't beat that.

I can't believe no one picked the H&R/NEF patents to continue these awesone single shots.

      An H&R employee posted that
Remington destroyed the tooling when they decided to
      bury the brand
      It's been some years ago.
      I wouldn't doubt it because
the dealings I had after they moved everything to Ilion
      were not pleasant.
      Shame too because they were
      an affordable working man's
      choice for many years.
Lots of animals and birds were
      taken with mine

Use to have a 12 gauge. Old gun kicked like hell. But I loved it. Hopefully me and my wife can find another at a local pawn shop. And she can get it for my Christmas gift!

That looks just like a H&R Topper Jr. model that my Dad gave me in 20 ga. for my 9th birthday, in 1971. I still have and treasure it to this day. I shot buckets full of squirrels and rabbits with it back in the day. The one you showed is a fine gun. Take care of it!

You are correct H&R was purchased by New England FireArms then sold to Marlin ,then Remington bought Marlin then want bankrupt. Now Ruger firearms owns all of them companies because they have all the rights to them. Ruger is going to bring some of the previous companies models back Marlin but, have not heard anything about H&R products.

Hey bud and friend yes, just make sure it is safe to shoot. If your not sure take it ta reputable gunsmith or sales of guns in your area. Amehumm ! Not Walmart ! Go to a place in your area that sells guns not a pawn shop and ask for ammo or Google it ok .

RDM Man you can shoot any type of load/shot. 12ga rifled slugs are made to shoot out of ANY choke (with the exception of extra full or turkey choke). The “fins” on the slug compress as the slug passes thru the choke and will not cause any damage to the gun

Why can’t you dry fire it? The firing pin is not coming in contact with anything if the chamber is empty.

    • @sheepdog72
