Hit a deep pothole on a 49 Pan chopper in the late 70's. My ass flew up off of the seat and I landed sitting on the right passenger foot peg , my left leg hanging over the seat, right foot hanging on the right foot peg, with both hands hanging on to the right throttle grip. What went through my mind as I went from shoulder to shoulder trying to climb back on the seat was I wished I had tightened down the throttle grip as it was coming off the end of the bar, and I was holding on with the bike at full throttle> I finally managed to get back in the seat and although I didn;t crap my pants I can say I was near shitless! Once I gained control I had to act 'cool' to my buddy that witnessed it and he was in awe I didn't crash.

Let’s say I would just want one build? Like a regular sportster black. Do you guys or other shops do that and we can just pay?

I thought a chopper is raked and a bobber has all the shit you don't need taken off of it so it goes faster,i could be wrong though.

Congratulations! Very instructive video. Your bikes are beautiful. Do you think that a 1973 Sporter is a good choice? I am worried about the reliability!!! Seller is asking $4,900 for it.

hi Bro...thanks for the cool words...you should avoid 1970 - 1973 Sportsters....Harley was making a lot of engine changes...hard to get the parts for these years. If this is your first build use a 1996 - 2003 Sportster....start with a well running bike no issues....the parts you will need are available on line...let me know any questions...good vibes bro...Jordan @ Rasta Choppers

Hate the term DRIVE when it's comes to operating a bike, you don't drive a horse, you ride the horse and drive the cattle, your RIDE a bike and drive a car

Great! I loved the interview! If you want to know more about the AMA and "outlaw" motorcyclists, a good place to start is Hunter S. Thompson's, "Hell's Angels." It was his first book, written in the mid 60s. The exemplar of gonzo journalism, it describes his time hanging out with the HA in Oakland.

Back in 1966, I met briefly with Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. He gave me some solid advice in regard to fork length. "If your forks are longer than six inches, take them off, set them in a corner, put shorter extensions or stock fork tubes on and then go out and have fun with the bike" -- Ed Roth. That was from a time when guys were using screw-in fork extensions ("slugs") to lengthen their hydraulic forks. Those things were dangerous (and still are). With only one exception, most of my past chopper builds did not have raked frames - maybe a little stretch in the frame's down tubes. I've always ran a front brake. Thanks, Rasta Choppers. Build right. Ride safe. -- W
