Love the story of how he named the bike Mary Lou after his late grandmother. The sentimental bond you build with your bike, and relationships you make from the process of building and riding it are what make the chopper community so attractive.
Very honest guy.. humble telling the story and revealing his limitations but also his passion. Dre is cool.
Thank you so much that's really nice of you say 🙏🏽
Dre's Sporty is everything that a frisco-styed chopper should be -- compact for good handling, a six-over fork (perfect), no rake, and a decent front brake. The "T" bars are great for good handling in fast-moving situations. Those Moon finned ignition and clutch cover a nice touch. I've always dug a NorCal (frisco) styled bike. Max Schaaf's orange knuckle engine in a drop seat Duo Glide frame is bruisin'. So is Dre's Sporty. Once, I built a Pan/Shovel and dedicated it to a pal who was on his '65 Pan chopper when he was killed by a drunk driver. His ideas and mine gelled -- including the color (metallic silver). Love ya, Pete (RIP). God love you, Dre, for naming your bike after your grandmother. May she rest in peace in Christ's kingdom. Ride safe, Dre. Thanks, LNSPLTBLVD!
I love how extensive he got with repairs getting rid of every gremlin, love that he knew what he wanted in the end. Great build, great dude.
Love the fact that he named the bike after his late grandmother, rest her soul. Hella good upload fr
Thank you so much!! Truly appreciate the kind words. Those damn gremlins are always pain in the ass!
I love the pride he has for sportsters. I have an 883 sportster, slowly putting it together rigid swing arm, but eventually I will chop it. Honestly I think i could ride a sportster forever. There arent enough people who understand the sportster like he does, and have that pride, I feel like.
Glad I stopped by. The best way town and ride is build it. Well done.
1st 5 mins...Dre knows what likes, had a vision, and articulates it well and pushed until it became real. In a month! Much respect to the man and this incredible bike. 👊🙌
Thank you so much for the kind words!!!
sporsters built the motor company
Learned something new! Never knew all the details of Frisco Choppers. Great video
Excellent video, great bike. This guy has heart. The real deal. Thank you.
This definitely makes me rethink of selling mine. Thank you
Don't do it! Hahaha the good news is there's plenty still out there if you ever want to re buy one in the future.
Pound for pound the best bike Harley ever produced, the Sportster.
100%
That’s a sweet little scoot. I have built a few of my own and I DO feel you on the little aggravations the build shop shows never tell you. That is what makes it real though. Nice ride!
Great bike. I've never understood the hating on Sportsters. They're reliable, affordable, infinitely customisable, and sound incredible.
Anyone who truly loves motorcycles appreciates a Sportster. I own and ride the hell out of an '07 Road King, and I drool over my buddies Sportster. They're great looking bikes.
Super nice build.
Be proud. 👍
I use Strava. It's a hiking app . . .
I came from SF and used to love all the back roads! they have all become the 'burbs. I live in FarNor Cal now. If you love empty, twisty, scenic, mountains and canyons you can ride all day, with the occasional awesome cafe in the middle of nowhere, I recommend highways 3 and 36 to start. So many amazing side roads to connect to from there!
Love your bike, man! Hope to see you on the road! ✌😎
Thank you man! I'll definitely add highway 3 and 36 to the list! I'll 100% ride those next spring! Nor Cal definitely has some of my favorite roads 🤘🏽
Lovely basic riding bike, can't beat the reliability of a sportster, very clean 👍
Love that at the end he made fun of kickstart bikes 😂
The 49ers are legit franchise , some of the best players of all time played for them! Joe Montana and Jerry Rice all American mvps. Great looking bike thats also very practical for San Francisco landscaping.
100%! Go Niners!!!
Love the bike. it scratches all the itches man. let us take a second to recognize that Bitchin S30 in the backround.
That's a sick bike, but I really enjoyed hearing him describe the history of the Frisco-style bikes. I'm a bobber guy, but I had no idea of the purpose of some of the part setups.
Bike is dope. That Datsun though 😵💫
badass bike homie way to tackle that transmission and knock it out finding the parts n gettin it done, nice flat head decale on the silver tank and that master cylinder is cool i like a front break
that’s one bad lookin chop 👌🏻
Thanks Alex!!! 🤘🏽
This bike is everything i want, its perfect.
Great looking bike. Really well done
I’m big on neutrals as well. I’m getting my tank and fenders painted gun metal grey
Gun metal bikes are bad ass!
SWEET
That’s a clean sportster.
Espectacular "Sportster" EVO. Una chopper muy trabajada, y el dueño un figura...Mi respeto. Saludos from Spain🍻
Muchos gracias 🤝🏼 🇪🇸
I love Sportsters, I have 2 of em (along with an Evo Fatboy and a M8 114cu Fatbob) For the bike in the video I would do the frame the same (color) as the tank. Wouldn't go for the "chrome" powder coat, I seen many, but it seems "off" every time.
Beautiful bike bro
Thanks man!!
If the carb is randomly having issues like that id bet you got an intake leak... Your gonna swap to an s&s carb and caise youll put a new manifold and seals on it youll think the carb fixed it but it was def the manifold. Whenever any bike ive had had a randomly erratic idle or throttle response it ended up being intake related.
That's a really cool looking bike you have.
Thanks man!
Dope design
Absolutely fantastic bro
Richie (uk)
Modest bloke with sweet chop. Props!
Killer bike great video how do I get that vest with iron cross
Awesome build👍
Clean sled
Looking cool your bike really nice
Thank you Pedro!
That's bad ass! I love big twin Choppers! Those are great engines
Nice 240z !
Nice bike but where did you get double knee pants looking for a pair that aren’t carhartt
very good for having complete brakes 😁
Pretty rare in the chopper community to have complete brakes hahahah
Yeah, I want to build a bike too... but that would be me... a part a month.. Probably starting with a frame... next month rear wheel... etc..etc..
Nothing wrong with that brotha! It'll all be worth it once it's finally done! 🤘🏽
Was thinking about getting those same pipes for the chop im building just trying to figure out how I’d have to get the brackets on like he did, sick bike tho!
I love frisco style, my dream…i have a sportster 2019, do you think it’s possible to build it like frisco style? Or is it better to sell it and buy an older model sportster to convert it into a frisco style? Thanks
Seen this bike for sale on marketplace. Did it end up selling?
Snap/Retaining ring pliers
Is it really that bad riding a rigid frame? I hear them called kidney busters.... I really like the rigid frame look 🔥🔥
Bad ass bike , cool boots too what kind are those boots
Thanks Jose! The boots are red wing engineers model 2268. Great riding boots!
@@andregonzales04 thanks brother

SAYA MELIHAT INDOME BROOOO
Cocaines a hell of a drug🤣🤣🤣
Hahahah was having terrible allergies with the season change. ⛷️❄️
Stop talking and start it up dude,
I'm a bit late with that, just found yer
Lmfao he had no idea about the petcock low petcock isn’t just frisco he should prolly learn some history before he starts spouting off about no one knowing about frisco dude gets his first Harley and thinks he knows shit others don’t 😂
The fuel valve was moved to as far back as it could and neck as high up as it could. This allowed you to use the full capacity of the fuel tank, filling it to the brim using every drop with the petcock at the very rear. Harley Davidson sportster tanks were a common choice. This era and style is what is now referred to as the Frisco style gas tank came from. The purpose being to keep the skinniest profile motorcycle for lane splitting through the tight streets of Sf while getting the most out of your gas tank.
As you can imagine a flat bottom gas tank with those modifications could add up to another half tank of fuel. You can go further and also not have to worry about your bike not starting due to lack of fuel into your carburetor.
But you should post a video on your page of your sweet ass chopper instead of hating on other peoples bikes and commenting nonsense BROTHA😂😂
Glad I stopped by. The best way town and ride is build it. Well done.
Hola soy seguidor del canal desde colombia !! Por favor habiliten la posibilidad de subtitulos y de traduccion al castellano !! Gracias
Love this content man. Dont ever stop.
🤙🤙best way to end the day! Thx for the vid!
If you’re running a Dyna-S and the bike runs great all but at idle, it is the flyweights. Bad flyweights unit mimics a ‘vacuum leak’ where at idle the revs stay up for a minute or so before returning down to a normal idle speed. If there are no vacuum leaks, the flyweights are out of tolerance with the pivot pins and or the return springs are fatigued. Replace with a quality made in USA unit like the one American Prime Manufacturing offers. Buy once fry once. I’ve used new Taiwan units straight out of the box that were out of wack and had me chasing my tail about idle issues. I wouldn’t swap that Mikuni for a S&S you’re downgrading with that move.
Good insight!!! I'll look into American Prime and add it to the parts list. Sadly a lot of the parts have been the ol case of buy once cry once hahaha but I try to buy as much USA made as I possibly can and support local businesses.
@@andregonzales04 I have a video on servicing flyweight (points ignition) on my channel if interested. Clean bike by the way keep it up!
Cool as hell 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻😎
Super cool build. Thanks for sharing all the little tips and tricks learned during the process.
The mic makes such a difference, thanks!
Anyone know what boots Dre is wearing? Engineers?
For sure, those boots are red wing engineers model 2268.
@@andregonzales04 Appreciate it man 🤘 Bike is rad!
Being only able to buy one thing a month was my way too so I fully understand 👍. He came over really well as a nice caring guy. Plus crackin bike. 🇬🇧
Thank you!!! I was just in London last month and got to check out this bad ass place called bike shed moto! I wish I had my bike with me. Would have been awesome to ride the English country side.
@@andregonzales04 wow !
Hell yeah, love frisco style bikes!

I’ll trade my 35mm front end for his 39mm
🤔🤔🤔🤔 hmmmm
It’s all chrome. Not the best chrome but it’s not bad. Dual disc set up too.
@@VenturyDrury do you have Instagram? Would love to see a pic of the set up!
What blade does homie have?
It's a Damascus fixed blade I got a motorcycle swap. Dude hand makes em! 👍🏼
Lotta silver and black for a niner guy :)
Dude for reals everyone gives me shit hahahahahah
What a beautiful sound that bike has! Great to hear a true bike build story, no bs just the real shit show that customizing anything with a motor!
Dude I say the same shit when I wear my prescription sunglasses😂😂
Super cool bike. Riding a hard tail with no springs in the seat must be a back destroyer.... he doesn't seem to be affected by that rigidity though
Con Madre.
What a beauty
check out Arlen Ness 'frisco style sportsters from the 70s. Nice build, I always loved the sportster tanks.
Arlen Ness makes some bad ass bikes for sure! I personally love his digger style choppers
Thanks Nice Build & Bike really like the Kick start ..I said what ??? @ 1 st .....what year is that engine
very cool😄
Sweet ride bro
Thank you!
Someone tell the guy that stock cv carb is also made in japan and runs perfectly after rejet❤
Gonzalez Linda Lopez Eric Walker Richard
sorry about grandma brother but you saying 2001 for covid was hilarious
Definitely a sweet scoot. Something you should be proud of and as far as the guys hating on Sportys. They’re probably hating as they’re walking. You take care and stay safe brother. My dad always told me while someone is hating on me they’re leaving someone else alone.
Your dad sounds like a great man! I agree with him 100% I always felt if someone is hating on you then it means you're doing something right!
Saludos carnal desde Mexicali baja California
Gracias compa!! 🤝🏼🇲🇽
Nice bike , hard tail is not for UK roads lol but my dreams are coming near 🤙
you own a harley you are a baller! I ride a huffy.
Very True man wealth is all perspective 👍🏼 I'm thankful to have a job and a bed to sleep in at night 🙏🏽
