Old Towns are not just in large cities, but also in many smaller towns. The one in Warsaw is not an original though - it was completly destroyed by Germans during WW II - and rebuilt up to specs afterwards.
Where I live, old town has over 500 years. Small town in north- east Poland.
The ground floors, underground floors, many parts of the facades and ornaments are original - it is a fantastic reconstruction that includes many original elements and is based on well-documented archives and original historical building techniques and materials. It also contains pearls ( - which are the full original work of Polish artists from the period just after World War II, moreover, a part the building in Warsaw's Old Town has survived. Among other things, the beautiful early Baroque Church of the Visitationists. In other words, part of the old town is definitely original, the construction is unprecedented when it comes to its historical value. Interesting: Reconstruction mainly concerned the old town as it was until the end of the 18th century, without the changes introduced in the 19th century.

Speaking of Hats, it's just strange to see people wearing them inside of a buildings, especially cap/baseball cap
You can see many Americans wear them in house, but why?
I never in my life saw any polish family eating meal together with wearing a hat
Taking the man's hat off has always been a sing of good manners. Today men do not usually wear hats, but I remember times when ,as a child, I would walk down the street with my grandpa. He was a high scholl principal in his town , so mamy people knew and greeted him and he would take his hat off and put it on every few minutes. as a sign of respect to those greeting him. Not taking it off in such a situation would be considered rude, just as leaving it on in someone's house, church or restaurant.
@@dorotabarbowska2184 similar to not taking off your gloves during handshake
As a Pole, I do not mind hats in houses (although it seem weird to me) but i do mind them during eating.
I heard 2 explanations - 1st is the respect for the food. 2nd is that only Jews ate with hats on.
So yeah, a Man should respect his food;)
@@rafaljt only Jews, like Morawiecki or Obajtek may eat in hats. But they dont.

Sheku- thank you for reminding me about Poland’s unique qualities! It’s so lovely to see my country through your eyes.
My absolute pleasure!! 😊
It's good to see Poland through someone else's eyes. We often do not appreciate it and consider It's a standard and not good enough. ❤
True!
None of the Poles would expect Turkish Kebab to become our national dish 😂🤣😂
its just too good man
it should be polish kebab then lol
It Resebmle nothing like a real kebab which is usually beef or lamb and mostly not in tortilla.
I guess it’s now POLISH KEBAB
“Turkish” kebab? Have you ever eaten a real Turkish kebab? In Poland certainly not…
@@saramar3497 What is your problem ? Doesn't understand. This is the film about Turkish Kebab in Poland. So I'm asking what is your problem with me?
You visited Wawel, but have you been to Wawel Cathedral? There is the Pantheon of our Kings. It's worth seeing.
Widać, Polska zostaje w pamięci👍 Pozdrawiam
You are so nice man ! I wish whole world was like you. Thank you for appreciating my homeland. Because of history we have so much sadness and complexes in our hearts. We didnt use to hear so much good things about our lovely country. In the past we always felt that we are worse than the others. The second world war finished in 1945 but Poland was free in 1989 (because russian slavery of communism ended in 1989). Thank you again man. Moreover, I hope the universe will nicely reward you for being so nice and kind ! As to UK or USA, these are the countries for which Poland feel so much sympathy and love.
Much respect ❤️
I was having a host student here in Warsaw with my family for a year from States. Her favourite thing was public transport. And Żabka 🐸 :) she got even żabka t-shirt from us😂 but have you visited Żabka Nano- where robots do your hoddogs? 😅
I can understand why she loves the infrastructure and convenience stores in Poland cause the U.S. Is lacking in these areas. I am sure she will never forget her time in Poland 🇵🇱 No I haven't visited Zabka Nano yet. What is so special about it?

Man is saying that Łódź is undeveloped and behind, I think he is becoming a true pole.
I wish 🙏 but I am flattered though!
"Pole" not "pole"
The longest version of "zapiekanki" is probably available at the seaside, in Polish seaside resorts. I can consume a lot of them but I recall only time I had issues with eating all of it myself was during summer near Polish seaside. So fans of Polish "zapiekanka" ( singular), go to Polish seaside in summer.
Noted! I bet it won't disappoint lol😅

Old Towns/Squares are in many European countries. It is not something either you can find only in Poland or it's normal only in Poland. Although, I like Polish Old Towns much.
I understand that but the structure in which the old towns/squares are layout in Poland is pure ingenuity never seen elsewhere. I appreciate your contribution, mate!
@@Shekumanstravel nothink special here, just maybe in USA you have no old cities and towns?

It's so nice to watch my country through a traveler's eyes really nice editing thanks for making this video
I have mentioned that already on one of your videos but I got to say it again.... you really put effort into editing. I like the narration and music and overall feel of the videos you make.
Powodzenia dobra duszo.
Many thanks for your films about Poland. We are very happy that you enjoyed your time in our country. We still have a lot to do and Poland still needs to develop, but it's nice that someone notices it. Poland has always been destroyed in history and Poles have had to fight for their independence, and unfortunately, wars and uprisings mean the destruction of beautiful buildings and monuments. During WW2, more than 60,000 works of art were stolen and taken out of Poland. However, we are slowly rebuilding our country and I hope it will only get better (if the crazy russians or germans don't come up with a brilliant idea to destroy Poland again). Small towns are also beautiful and developing in our country (the effectiveness there depends on the local people and the person who is in charge). Greetings from Poland and I hope you will visit us again someday. We warmly welcome people with such open minds and without thinking of stereotypes about other people.
Two more such films and our president will grant you Polish citizenship immediately :)

When it comes to ifrastructure we in poland have a field called ' public finances ' . The way it works is a chunk of money collected from the taxes is spreaded between different cities and it is up to people working in that feild to use this money on projects that are meant to improve The live in society. Hope you find this info helpful ❤
Sheku thank You for Your effort to present my country Poland, all the Best for You.

Cool video Bro, thanks for doing correct, honest vid bout Poland
It is very flatering , can have hiden reasons but ... I like your point of vieu. I'm Warsaw Pol , 9 years in Lofoten Norway. I feel like in " Forest Gump " scene when he run end run: I feel like going home... :) TX
I only disagree with Żabka's assessment, it's an expensive store (for us Poles) ;) It's close, almost on every corner in every city... yes, but it's more profitable to buy even snacks in Biedronka. ;) Biedronka is a bigger store, they have more products to offer, there are nice promotions (if you have the app on your phone), there are even self-service checkouts ;)
Thank you for your kind words about my country. I'm glad you remembered the positive things that matter to you.
same here in Czechia, žabka is very expensive, but sometimes you are too lazy to go to some Lidl or something, we mostly have little Vietnamese shops which work the same as Żabka in Poland, it's overpriced, but mostly everywhere
I only partially agree. Zabka is neither expensive nor cheap - somewhere in between. Prices are about 15-20% higher than in the cheapest supermarkets and it is acceptable. In other countries, the prices of convienient stores are much higher - 50 to 100%. For example, in Amsterdam in a small shop you will have to pay 2 euros for a 500ml bottle of water, 4 euros for a beer, while in the supermarket next door the same water will cost 50 cents and a beer 1 euro. In Zabka, the prices will be a bit higher but acceptable, no one will ask you to double the price for basic things.
Żabka's winning strategy is choosing products and adjusting prices so that you're always tempted to just go to a Żabka instead of a supermarket. It's not for regular shopping, just additional things you're missing. If you want a snack, you're gonna pay 1 zł or 2 zł more... If you want a ready-made-meal or sandwich or hot dog, you're not guaranteed to find it in Biedronka. And they're open on Sunday, until late. That's why they're so wide-spread.
Anyway, this idea of convenience stores is well-spread around the world: in Thailand or Japan it's 7-Eleven, in Mexico it's OXXO, in Latvia it's Narvesen... it's common
@@piotrb4240 if there is a train station near, it's cheaper to buy a snack in vending machine there than in žabka 😀
@@xmolxmolxmol Here in Czechia, you have some snack in vending machine somewhere at train station for like 60 CZK and the same thing in žabka is for like 90 and even that machine at train station is overpriced, but inflation is that crazy that it's like +5 CZK each time when I visit žabka after some time 😀 we already have the same or even higher prices than in western europe, 0.3l coca-cola in restaurant for 2-3 eur, it's crazy, it was like 1.5 eur few years ago. 500 ml coca-cola in PET bottle in supermarket cost the same now as 2l PET 2 years ago. But they say inflation is already slowering, but this already went to far and salaries are still the same as 5 years ago, our living standard went down drasticaly in last 2 years. Between 2018-2020 it was like I didn't even know what to do with all those money. 😀
I went to Poland in the seventies a few times but not again until 2014 - what a change!
Unfortunately Poland has changed for much worse...you probably evaluate it from the look but I MEAN
that Poland is taken by foreign corporations and everything is stolen by them step by step...
Polish government (which is not really polish...) does everything to steal most of the income from people.
They are selling OUR NATURAL SOURCES without any fucking authorization to do so..
I was able to experience it myself. Literally 2008 everything was still shit but 2014 a different world. It is shocking how QUICKLY Poland developed and rebuild many things. European funds were for us like a Marshall plan to western europe
mr.sheku if is posimble make some vide about yor songs who added to yor mouvies is great hear this thankiu and have great time in travel
Holiday in Poland from Scotland going back september love it there so safe
You forgot to ad "if you are from US" to the title. Some of the stuff you talk about, food in particular, are strictly Polish (although I'm pretty sure that in some other countries you could find symilar stuff), but others, like good infrastructure or old towns, are pretty common in a whole Europe.
Well observed. And you ate at the same Krakow restaurant as me just a month ago 😁
Sorry for the typo “bogos” Also, I apologise if you could not hear me clearly as the sound in this video was recorded on my small camera and the rode microphone on my big camera is broken.
Anyways, what else would you add to the list?
Blik - a mobile payment system launched in 2015. It enables smartphone users to pay cashless in stationary and online stores, withdraw and deposit cash at ATMs, make transfers to a telephone number and generate checks with a digital code.
@@izabela5097that sounds pretty cool and convenient 😊way to go Poland
I would add "paczkomaty" which may be translated as parcel machines. These are big lockers where you can collect your parcel that you ordered from some online shop at any time within the next 24 hours since it is placed in the locker. In some of them you can collect even groceries as they have fridge inside. I heard that Poland is called a "lockerland" because there are some many of these "paczkomaty", literally on every corner (just as Żabkas) :). It seems that Polish people love online shopping.
@@Shekumanstravel Note that people often "pay" by phone. Transfers to a telephone number are also immediate. It is popular in Poland.
As a Polish person living in US I 100% concur 😊 I also love that bike paths share sidewalks with pedestrians and not roads with cars (most of the time)… it makes so much sense! But please try not to use “OMG” so much … it’s blasphemy:/
I've never before heard anyone prising our infrastructure. :) Nice video, though.

Zapiekanka is a sandwich that was created in the 1980s during a period of deep economic collapse. the first casseroles had cheese and champignons on top. casseroles were sold from primitive food tracks that were a substitute for fast food.

Tbh "Żabkas" are one of most expensive stores 🤨🤷🏻♂️
Ohhh yeaah it's considered rude to have your hat on inside places. For example we take it off when we're home, when we eat. Our grannies would always tell us 'don't eat with your hat on' 😂 and ofc if you enter a church even as a tourist it's good manners to take your hat off (espacially men). I don't know why but it something that we learn by osmosis 😃

Don't advertise B. The place to go to is Stokrotka, a Polish supermarket (as opposed to the Portuguese Beidronka pretentidning Polish) with much, much better quality food AND cheaper than Biedronka.
@@pythagorasnine so what Stokrotka is Polish? Biedronka is usually more convenient and the prices definitely aren't cheaper in Stokrotka. Biedronka branded products aren't that bad in quality, and regular brands are just the same
