    Very nice. Are they better (offroad and on asphalt) compared to old man emu bp-51?

      Hi mate, unfortunately, I haven't been in a Hilux with old man emu bp-51's. So I can't comment on a direct comparison :(

    Cheers for this video, been stuck on the rear fox shocks while installing as the metal inner tube that they come with are the wrong diameter to mount… I didn’t realise you were meant to remove that

    I have the same suspension fitted to My Hilux this week, and wheel alignment done all by a reputable dealer. impressed with the fox/ cal product, but it is driving rubbish not handling good on open road/ highway, brought it to my local mechanic, he won't touch it as it's modified now, should i replace UCA

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Any brand-new suspension will ride super rough until it's had some time to 'bed' in
      If it's still riding rough you have of selected too heavy springs

  • @bushbeachbeyond7450
    @bushbeachbeyond7450 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    from my readings i have come to learn that fox are a stiffer suspension by design. how have you found the ride on rough roads and things like corrugations?

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh probably are little too stiff. But still riding on a cloud. I recently did a cape trip, loaded up the suspension runs very smooth. Combination of suspension and tyres pressures and corrugations are a breeze

    Hey mate, just installing the fox lift kit now and the sway bar is almost touching the springs. Have I done something wrong?

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  ปีที่แล้ว

      More than likely will be the current alignment. You'll need to get a new one done regardless. Just mention it to the mechanic/tech; they should be able to get everything to clear.
      I only had my UCA rubbing against the springs on full droop. That was fixed with the calloffroad UCA's.

    Question (s):
    What happened with the leaf springs? Did you not put in the new ones?
    Also, is there a way to increase the amount of weight you can put on the truck bed by changing the shocks/ springs?

    • @onetwoshootmedia
      @onetwoshootmedia ปีที่แล้ว

      I did install the correct rear leaf springs once I got back from phat bars. I just did it off camera :) these particular lead springs I got were I think 0-300kg springs. If were intending to carry heavy loads consistently I'd put in say 500kg or 600kg springs. Shocks don't carry the weight it's the springs.

    Hello I know nothing about 4x4s. Would I need to replace upper control arms when I order the lift kit?

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just depending on clearances of the UCA to the strut and the tyres you have.
      I did end up upgrading / replacing my UCA to clear the strut on compression / droop

    Hoping one day to get some decent suspension for my Navara. Will have to wait until the money is there. From what you're saying it is better to do it properly the first time and spend the extra. Rebuilds of the shocks would cost less over time compared to just replacing no doubt.

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% my mentality is do it once and once properly, still don't regret the investment I've made.

    I have a question for you in the 4x4 sector and I would like to know if you can tell me if it is true that the ironman nitro gas shock absorbers go well with the original series set-up and can they be adapted with the +5? I have a Suzuki jimny 4x4 with m13a 1.3 l petrol engine with standard shock absorbers and calibrations, yesterday afternoon I picked up the new ironman nitro gas shock absorbers and the 4x4 spare parts dealer in Florence told me that these ironman nitro gas shock absorbers are ok for off-road 4x4 with suspension standard or in a second you could put the springs higher and it becomes a +5 high setting is it true? Greetings from Florence Italy!

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, I can't comment on the Ironman suspension as I personally don't have a first hand experience with them. However I have seen a few jimny's over here in Australia with Ironman suspension installed. I'd suggest going to a Jimny owners group on facebook

    How would you compare the ON ROAD(asphalt) ride quality between the factory shocks and this fox shocks?

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chalk and cheese mate, I didn’t have stock shocks in previously but they were sagged and flogged out. The vehicle would body roll around any corner and braking hard the front would sink down a lot.
      Now with the fox she feels tight and solid around around corners, under braking there is abit of compression but not as much previously. Overall the best description I can give once the vehicle is loaded up is floating over the road.

    Hey bro I'm assuming it's more than a 2" lift so anything more you need a diffdrop kit and upper control arms that suit the height adjustment

    • @AdventureN
      @AdventureN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah it’s a 2” kit purchased from a reputable shop that has done hundreds of these kits. The suspension has certainly ‘settled in’ and doesn’t sit as high.
      Post this video I did order a set of Caloffroad fixed upper control arms and installed them. You can check out my other video on that!
