My only issue with this set is the way that this is like an "extra" booster in-between 2 sets. Personally, 3 months is already too short for my personal tastes, but 3 sets 1.5 months apart each?!?! My wallet can't keep up with this and my bank account is screaming in pain.. not to mention the "Ultimate" starter decks you have to buy 2 of and the Premium "Best Selection" alt art collection that just dropped the other day, Bandai is seriously gonna drain me for everything I got, but I can't just NOT buy the new meta cards lol... 😅 I just preordered a box last night for $162. Even just six months ago, I wouldn't have even considered touching a box at such a huge markup! But given how hard it was for me to get OP06 (still the only set I haven't bought a box of yet, had to just buy singles 😕), and considering it's about $170 on TCGplayer and I've seen it at $175+ other places, I decided it was worth the risk. Even if it goes down, I can always buy a 2nd box to lower my average cost. And I like to have several decks built and ready to go, and there's SEVERAL cards I'm gonna need plenty of copies of in this set to justify buying a 2nd one (potentially) down the road. On a sidenote, I saw OP06 boxes going down quite a bit, but so are all the cards in it, so it's still too expensive for me to justify. But at the end of May when we get more OP06 in, I may finally get to pick up an actual box of that 😁
Bandai definitely needs to slow down on how much product they're releasing especially since there has been a lot of shortages. It's one thing to have a lot of product and there being enough for people to grab off the shelf at MSRP, but that's not the case currently. They are running themselves really thin and it's just too much.
Looks like all boxes have 3 hits this time one being an alt leader or bon clay SEC… so that plus 2 normal alt hits per box, which can be the SEC alt or manga.
Raigo also confuses me, I wonder why it needs the life reduction aside from flavor (even though dropping to 1 is good in some yellow decks), cause red roc also removes anything for the same cost. This game has some interesting design spaces
It's a matter of colour identity, blue is supposed to be control, yellow is supposed to be triggers and life manipulation, it already has way too much good removal and a bit of everything other colors do has it is.
Because Red Roc belongs to blue which is the control color. Raigo belongs to yellow which is supposed to be a color that utilizes life manipulation and triggers. Yellow isn’t supposed to have good control options (even though it already does) which is why raigo has the additional cost. It’d be like if they printed a card in green that allows you to gain an extra life
Hard disagree. OP06, yea singles were the way to go. This set just introduces FAR too many staples going forward. I think at least 1 box is worth it personally. Especially since there's less cards in this set, you're more likely to get a complete playset of everything you need, other than the SRs and SEC of course.
Retail price usually is around 110-120 depending on the store. 130 for EB-01 is probably still worth it if you're a player. If you don't play the game and just collect 130 might be a bit too expensive for this box since the chances of getting more money than you're paying are slim. Especially looking at what he said in the video, since there are less SR, alt arts en SEC, chances are higher that their supply is higher than regular booster boxes. Which could mean that the prices could be lower. But, this last paragraph is pure speculative. I'd say if you play the game, buying a box at $130,- is worth it.
I think a good rule of thumb for buying boxes is if the Secret rare is good. Since mr.2 is a 4of in a tier1 deck i think it should be worth it

my local store is selling them for 119, but the only cards i need really are 4 bon clays, 4 kid killers, and 4 weevils. So is it even worth it for me.
