I love collage artwork. My best pieces are collages. I particularly like using rice paper that I have distressed and added color to. Thanks for this video it has refreshed my mind!
I would love to use more collage in my work, or at least in my sketchbook. Rice paper is a great tip! I do have some, but can't say I've used it much myself.
I got into abstract painting because I started creating my own collage papers - I hated painting before that. The would-be collage papers started looking so appealing that I didn't want to cut them up anymore, but now I've circled back and want to try adding collage to my paintings. Love your videos :)
Thank you, Em! That’s an interesting progression. Somehow it feels much easier to paint freely on a collage paper than on a “proper painting”. So I can see how that made you start enjoying painting itself.

Hallo Blattgeflitter 😊 Freut mich dass der Tipp mit der Palette dir geholfen hat. An kleinen Formaten arbeite ich immer wieder mal. Ich habe auch eine Playliste mit einer Serie von A6 Papierbildern. Mit Collage sollte ich auf jeden Fall mehr machen, vor allem da ich so viel Collagepapier angehäuft habe. Ich komme ursprünglich aus Pforzheim, im Südwesten Deutschland. Ganz liebe Grüße!

I love this technique! Is there an acid-free Wet strength tissue paper or is there a medium that would make something made with this technique archival?
Hi Lisa! I could not find acid free wet-strength tissue paper, but you could use standard acid-free tissue paper. You just need to be a bit more careful so it doesn't fall apart when wet.
I love using collage papers, I´m a bit of a paper hoarder haha. I´m curious, what type of panels do you use? Are they wood panels about 1cm thick? I´ve been meaning to buy some but i´m not sure what´s the best option. Thank you so much, greetings from Mexico.
Same! I really need to use up some of those stacks of collage papers I’ve made over the years. These are 5mm wood panels from Jackson’s www.jacksonsart.com/jackson-s-5mm-wooden-painting-panels-pack-of-5?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=2d00f43f07911355d4151f13925ff292 I’d suggest you get 5mm plywood from the hardware store. They often cut it to size there for you too. Or you can get cradled panels, especially if you want larger sizes.
