I use most of these instructions for updating my Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.1 to look like a Mac. I have opted for a dark theme and I do have my applications bar up top In fact even with an Apple logo 😊, which I've recently changed to Tux 🐧
@@RuudKuin right click on menu, config, and you can change everything you want about it. Maybe those are not the exact names, i don't have my interface in english sorry
Hey, da ich deinen deutschen Akzent raushöre, wollte ich auch ein Kommentar auf deutsch da lassen!:D Es hat alles super geklappt, vielen lieben Dank! Du hast alles entspannt und ruhig erklärt!!
Thanks this was very straightforward, one of the many reasons I stopped using linux, is linux mint's UI, it felt very old and UI is super important to me so when i knew i could do this i felt kinda happy because now i can use mint without having to deal with the bad UI
Great tips. Thank you so much. I just adapted some changes according my personal taste e now Cinnamon looks great as KDE or Deepin inspired in MacOS. Instead of Os-Catalina-icons I installed Tela-circle-purple and also choosed Chameleon-White-Large as mouse pointer. Yeah! It's beautiful.
I just did this (thank you btw) I do have a question... How do i "pin" more programs to the apple floating bar at the bottom? They seem to show up there when launched but disappear later. I would like to make more of them permanent.
@@kriskata_9328 I'm not sure if "Apps" on linux are way more resource draining than their windows counterpart.. My linux mint struggles when I do zoom meeting with video and mic turned on.. and when I tried to do ppt presentation, that laptop is gone. Btw it's a 2020 Dual Core Intel Celeron, 4 GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD.. should suffice right? So, performance is definitely something that I concern the most..
It's still boring flat graphics, the window control buttons are flat and single color with each individual button, un like what Mavericks looked like which had 3-D buttons that looked like candy or shiny Gems.
James Lee sent me here.

Hi Rick,

Works like a charm. It's exactly what I've been looking for, although I liked the dark version more.
Thanks man, this was really simple and straightforward to do.
you are my hero of the day
Thank you very much for the Catalina theme. Everytime I do an OS upgrade, I look to install it.
It worked perfectly in Linux Mint 21.2, it was even easier than in Ubuntu according to other tutorials. Thanks a lot for the tutorial.

What a simple, clear and easy to follow guide.

3:38 - where is the global menu? Still absent in Cinnamon which makes KDE Plasma 6 the best way to go.
Very Clear and straight forward !
Could you do a tutorial on how to install a Macos Aqua theme?
Nice! Thanks for the tutorial
Thanks. Really simple and best explanation
I recently installed Mint Xfce on my sister's 2013 iMac so she can stream again. I think this will have to be the next move.
btw if you want to, you can type in the start menu "windows" and you can change the button layout to left but anyways yeah Great tutorial.
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you!
Thanks for the good explanation

My OS Catalina Icons folder has completely different files in it than the one you show. It has a bunch of folders and a theme
I wonder if I could do the same or similar things to have a Windows-like theme🤔
Hi, great tutorial. Thank you. Is there any customization to have MacOS backgrounds updated automatically ?

When a program is running, right-click it on the floating bar and choose "Keep in Dock".
I'm works for the most part, but Desktop doesnt show Whitesur to change the Task bar white. Ehh, win some, lose some. I just went Mint Aqua
Thanks friend 😃😃😃
great tutorial!
The catalina folder seems different now.. Can't use the icons.
Does installing a custom theme like this affects performance in respect to having the system runs on 'default' theme?
not much

Great video.
Just one more dream ....
How to get Time and Calendar in the middle of the Top Bar ????
The old Pear OS is the closest to a Mac OS theme experience.
Ha Jordan,
Recently browsed through my install DVD's, Pear OS was one of them, pity it isn't active anymore. ;)
