It's really nice but there's a probem... Why applications like FireFox replace their own (close, minimize, restore down) buttons instead of this theme?
they draw their own buttons, doesn't use platform's one to have maximum control and flexibility. This is also true for all kinds of webapp, chrome, and other browser.
Very cool, with a 400$ desktop you can get an a computer that looks like a Mac, and works ok, i think with just 8gb ram Ubuntu should have good perfomances.
Works good for me. Only problem is my ungoogled-chromium browser doesn't have the OS X style buttons. Maybe because it's installed with flatpak. I had a normal chrome browser installed via apt and the buttons theme work for that one
@dionthegoofyone Is there not some equivalent or something? I find it hard to believe there's really no way of getting a dock in KDE, that's ridiculous
@dionthegoofyone Ah well you see, I use arch btw. Just kidding I haven't since I started using fedora haha. But yeah that just kinda sucks. You'd think that some other dock system would come along if latte dock itself wasn't forked or maintained
Honestly, mac theme slowed down my ubuntu. Still, your detailed instructions about uninstalling the theme helped. Thanks a lot.. Did try the theme for 2 months, but due to some reasons had to remove it.
I tried this today, because i was tired of Ubuntu boring desktop. Some things seems to have changed because there's no "blur my shell" or "compiz" or "quick settings" in the extension manager. Either I missed something or they're not available any more now. But anyway, most things work OK only Chrome seems to ignore the theme.
At first, the functionality wasn't as expected, and I couldn't find any options for my theme in the GNOME Tweak settings. However, after I rebooted my computer, it started working as intended, and the options became visible.
Same issue after re starting theme are visible in tweaks but even applying light theme my files are still in black mode, Actually I'm unable to change the theme of files it is black all the time
Hey, thank you for the wonderful walk through. Although it was all easy to follow, I just cannot change my shell appearance in the tweaks section. The appearance of shell is somehow disabled for the user to change. How do I change that ?
Only problem in here, is the default programs stay with light-mode, and the other in dark-mode, if a change to dark-mode its inverts, but not all the programs stays in dark-mode.
Before installing this theme, its advised to enable light or dark mode from quick settings. Let's say if you are using dark mode, then use White Sur Dark.
great video , Q : in firefox the theme dosn't work, in tweaks extensions the column browser dosn't exist how i can change the logo of apple . thank you so much

awesome I like to also install extensions AATWS, Hide Minimized, Just Perfection, and huge improvement (just in feeling no more no less) in overview "static background in overview"
It says quick settings tweaker doesn't support it. I have ubuntu 22.04 LTS gnome 42.9. so is there any alternative? Also the ventura link says sonoma now.
My applications window not look like mac, only system window, why? I reinstaller following every single minute of your video, but chrome, Opera and other apps still not working =/
Actually everything is working perfectly fine, but I want my browser to take up entire Desktop.... as of now the dock is taking the lower part of my screen!! Any way to make the Web browser to it's full size?
the last part, when installing the "quick" extensions... it is saying that it is not supported for my version of gnome. Is there a way to upgrade to gnome 43 on ubuntu 22.04??
Unfortunately not for Ubuntu 22.04. Its not supported. Just use the interim releases if you want the latest and greatest gnome. It is possible you can get Ubuntu 22.10, and that will have gnome 43 out of the box (but it's not LTS if that matters to you and you'll have to update to 23.04 later, also not LTS).
Yes you can do that. Use GNOME Tweaks - appearance - choose shell theme. Also watch the new update on this video: th-cam.com/video/j_2bvMvPc50/w-d-xo.html
@@kskroyaltech doing that doesn’t work. The only fix i’ve found was downloading ONLY the theme with the accent color i wanted. I’m on ubuntu 23.10 btw.
I tried this on Fedora 37 in my 4 GB ram virtual machine, it also works very well. Thank you 😊

It's really nice but there's a probem... Why applications like FireFox replace their own (close, minimize, restore down) buttons instead of this theme?
Enabling "use gtk theme" might solve this.

@dionthegoofyone Wait I just looked it up and avdanos is going to be a Linux desktop designed by the os concept youtuber avdan? That's super cool
@dionthegoofyone You can use KDE's panel to simulate a a docks behavior, Garuda Linux did this to switch from Latte.
