I have to say this was by far one of the best games I have played this year. That being said I loved the old flashback Easter egg when you sleep and everything else.

***** Its more just your average American shooter. Good story and in the end of the game ((Spoiler)) The Nazi Regime still does not lose.
How does it make up for the lack of Multiplayer?
***** They did well with the realism and detail on German uniforms and the evolution of the STG-44 and a few other weapons. There is sadly no Multiplayer yet but rumors of one being made independent as an add on to it.
The game is fun, though yes you Kill Nazi forces the whole time, it still shows you Hitler's City Germania, and many other concepts that never made it forwards, It goes into detail on how they defeat Russia, Italy, Subjugate Japan and China, the force America into surrender. The idea was great and Theory of "What if" is like that of many books ive read. This is fun even to admire the scenery and all else.
***** Believe me I yearn for a game that holds true to the perspectives and battles of the German front in there eye's.
However to do such a thing would require people very intelligent and open minded to there History and knowledge of the German forces in WW2.
Sadly due to the actual Country being so Up in arms over the sensory of such games, movies and shows such a thing is not possible. the closest one can get is to the Reenactments themselves.
However I don't mind fighting German Forces as long as they are Good opponents and there history, weapons, and technology are portrayed in the right light.
I am a gamer so this was a natural thing for me to buy as I played the original. But at the same time the attention to detail in the uniforms, Buildings and overall concept was also greatly worth the purchase.
What a gem this game was in the dying world of fps games.
Yeah, this and Doom are like the final hurrah for the old-school, guns-blazing FPS.

This looks like an insanely fun shooter, nice to see some variety with modern FPS.
This is by far the best game of 2014 in my opinion. Its a fucking masterpiece. Amazing graphics and sound, good value for money, a well told story and the gameplay is beyond awesome. I really hope this isn't a send off but, rather a new beginning for the Wolfenstein series.
When i started playing this game i didnt think it would be any good... But fortunately it really suprized me! It really gave me the old school wolvenstein feeling and the plot wasent all to bad. I really liked playing this game!

Hear hear! I loathed when games decided that a two gun limit was a good idea -_- Talk about squandering all the time put into making those guns, when people will often be reluctant to discard them for something else. I will always enjoy how Wolfenstein, Doom and Serious Sam went all in with letting you run around armed to the teeth.
Absolutely adored this game! Rented it and couldn't put it down. The old blood was fantastic as well. A must play for anyone who hasn't played it, seriously you're missing out.

I really like how you can cut thin holes in cover with the laser cutter. makes its usefulness quite high in combat. also get a few up grades for the lasercutter and you can pretty much gib everything that isnt heavily armoured or a robot

This is one of my favorite FPS games of recent years. Very engaging and creative storyline and the gameplay is REALLY smooth, and fluid imo. And although a simple feature the fact that you can hold L1 (PS4) and duck, tip toe, or peak from left to right and in any which direction adds SO MUCH more to the gameplay experience. After I played this for a few hours and played a diff FPS I was REALLLLY missing that feature. Almost to the point where the other FPS didn't feel good, because I got so use to Wolfenstein.

Out of the reviews I've watched none point out that there is two paths to take depending on who you kill at the beginning... The change isn't HUGE but it's big enough to make me play through a couple times. Also there are tons of collectibles in the game and they are fun to look around for and explore, along with Easter eggs. I think they did a great job with the game

I’m thinking of just buying everything. Wolfenstein 2 plus season pass is $24. New Order and Old Blood $9. $33 for all current gen Wolfenstein content doesn’t sound bad when players who bought it all day 1 spent $160. Heard the new Youngblood is terrible so not even considering it.

Just finished it. At least 9 definitely, the best game of last year. Can't believe how much more I enjoyed playing this than Mordor and Inquisition. I really hope they make a sequel.

Just played through this game. Firstly, it's worth stating I finished it in 7 hours, at the medium difficulty, and that included watching cut scenes. The story and the cinematography was damn fantastic. I didn't think the game would be that great, but in the first 30 minutes of playing, I knew I was wrong. The feeling of the guns is excellent, the graphics compliment the game play nicely, in some aspects you get that Borderlands type cartoon look, but maintaining a realistic look. I was gripped the whole game, it balanced stealth perfectly with action, giving you plenty of chances to choose how you would play, without making you feel that they planned everything out for you. However, there were times were I felt mission instruction possibly were not very clear, I had to resort to quick TH-cam videos every now and again, but that may be because I'm only 16. So, to sum it up, play this fucking game, it's phenomenal. 10/10 for me.
This review really helps me decide whether or not I will get this game. Gotta watch more though
I had a blast with this game...best one in the series and I've been with the franchise since the original. I could go on and on about how much I loved it but I need sleep...I've been playing this nonstop for a couple days during my terrible cold. It helped me forget that I was sick.

Just finished this; haven't played a shooter this good for a while. While it isn't exactly blast from the past it picks some forgotten elements of FPS-games and adds it into tight package with some stealthy gameplay also.
Story is fucking wild but ay the same time enjoyable, recommend it!
Bj dies at the end I sat and stared at the screen for minutes realizing that the ending makes everything you worked for pointless you fight to live and make a change but you never see it so ultimately that drags my score to 7.5 because the reason I kept pushing through the puzzles and confusing map design was to see him succeed but I always did like a sad ending but only when it means something Bj died for no reason and could've lived but he gave up and gave the order so it's not like the walking dead when Lee died for a reason or watching something heart braking this just pissed me off rather than make me a tear.
Funny how everyone was over-hyped for Destiny, yet this gem of a game had great marketing and promotion behind it...and in my opinion, much better value for money.

I think going back to your roots in video game's is always a good way to please old fans. For instance, when playing MGS, I love how they throw in paraphernalia and cough cough moments that refer back to the earlier titles on different systems and different ages, because while a new player might not get what they are alluding too, dedicated fans do, and it really "tickles you". So I was pretty disappointed to see that both of these console Wolfenstein titles did not have any significant re-configuring or allusions to Return to Castle Wolfenstein on PC, because that would have been really great. If you've played that game (spent my childhood wasting away on it for hours) then you know what a classic feel it had, and how great it was. I hope that a true fan of the series is up there pulling the punches on where this title's future lies one day, because I would pay big money and really appreciate a remake of the early title. Getting to bust out of Castle Wolfenstein and having everything as it was, would be unspeakably wonderful.

Looks like a Weekend rental too me, though i might see why classic fans would love this game as it looks like a Current Gen Wolfeinstein 3D(was born in the 1990's and only played it like twice though lol).
Coming off of DOOM, I really miss automatically picking up ammo and not having to reload, but this is also an amazing game. Glad to see these old franchises I love are back and in good form

this game was awesome. but i was a tad dissapointed with MachinceGames for how they handled the last gen versions. they delayed they game back quite a while, yet the game still needed some graphical polish that the 360 most definetley could handle.

Damn it, I really wish we could get a Wolfenstein like Castle Wolfenstein from original Xbox. That game was awesome! Especially in co op!

SPOILER WARNING! In order for me to give you a in depth review I must spoil a few things but note this will not spoil the entire game for you.
Where to begin words really can not describe how much I love this game, But I will try for you all.
1 Originality Factor: Machine games has done a great job keeping it old school just like the old Wolfenstein we all know & love whilst also adding in some new age style to it as well with a new perks system this game really feels like a old school shooter from the 90's.
2 Game Play & Mechanics: There are two different ways to play this game through most of it. You can run & gun all day long make lots of noise with HUGE! guns & let mayhem & carnage reign supreme or you can take the semi new addition stealth sneak up behind the enemy kill the commander before he has time to call in Reinforcements The stealth element is surprisingly well done and the kills are extremely satisfying. (Much better then metro last lights stealth elements) The game allows you to chose which play style you like. Mechanics wise there are perks that can be unlocked to provide bonuses, such as faster reloads and greater magazine capacity etc. The perks can be useful but aren't really needed in this game.
3 Artificial Intelligence: The AI is no dummy in this game a single gun shot or the wrong step or noise can set off a alarm screwing your entire stealthy tatics not to mention if they hear a dog attack they know you're there & if you're playing run & gun you'll find yourself restarting a little more then anticipated because they will actually go looking for you if they know you're there once a alarm has been tripped they are on alert. It's not the best AI I've ever seen but machine games did a very good job at making the game difficult but enjoyable.
4 In Game Options: The in game visual options are sadly a tad bit lacking with only a few options these would be Graphics Quality, VT Cache Size, VT Compress, MAX PPF, Shadow Resolution, Deapth Of Field which can't be turned entirely off, Screen Spaced Reflection, Additional Quality Settings & Haze Flare & A FOV slider, Very simple but they get the job done. You can't bind 1 key to lean left or right which is sad but you do get a toggle lean which allows you to look up & over down & about or left & right it takes some getting used tro but it's not actually that bad. The rest is very simple key bindings resolution & sadly no audio controls except for master volume it would have been nice to be able to force the game to run in surrounf instead of what windows runs default but hey again it gets the job done & it's nothing that really effects game play.
5 Stealth: Now for some this is a touchy subject many people have said "It looks like metro last lights stealth" well yes & no its no splinter cell or thief game, But you can't just kill somebody right in front of another AI enemy whilst their back is turned because if the two enemies are cloes together or within their peripheral vision they will notice it so stealth is a bit touchy in this game but it does a great job with it. It's actually pretty hard to do stealth on uber mode & it does a much better job then metro last lights stealth elements.
6 Weapons: Everything from Unreal Tournament's flak cannon to underslung rockets on your assault rifles this games gun play is beyond satisfying dual wielding Unreal Tournament's flak cannons? HELL YES!!!! the guns are loud, proud & HUGE! just like you would expect in a 1990's shooter. Weapon upgrades can be found throughout the game's levels & each one of them offering something fun.
7 The World & It's Story: Visually this game surprised me the graphics of the world are compelling & lots of atmosphere especially the moon level visually again the textures are very good I don't think I have seen a single texture over used all be it not the best graphics but definitely better then a lot of games these days. Trapped in a vegetative state for 14 years, Wolfenstein hero B.J. Blazkowicz awakens to a 1960 dominated by Nazis and a life no-longer solely defined by the killing of them. A alternate history reality where nazis won world war 2. The story is very compelling & it gets you hooked in imediately especially if you're a scifi nut and/or history nut I don't want to ruin much but the ending is sad.
8 The Characters & BJ's Relationshhips With Them: I can't help but feel drawn into the world of wolfenstein the new order because of the way the characters react to you & what's going on around them there is just a lot of emotion between you & all the others lots of sadness lots of love lots of hatred & anger. New characters introduced just in time to die tragically, old war buddies now confined to wheelchairs, a ragtag band of misfits overcoming adversity and making a stand. You get to see a side of BJ as well filled with remorse over an early-game choice. During slower moments to his innermost thoughts reflections on childhood traumas and dreams for the future. & if you sit & listen in stealth mode for a bit the nazis will have convos about real world issues they actually have a personality. I can't help but feel drawn into the world of wolfenstein the new order.
My rating 10 out of 10 keyboards. Should you buy this game? YES! Because it is that damn good.
P.S If this is the last wolfenstein game ever made this by far was a great send off to the entire series Good bye BJ I will miss you.

Phenomenal game and story but one major flaw is that the BJ Blazkowicz character is basically Batman with a bunch of guns. He even talks under his breath like Batman.

Awesome game haven't played a better fps in year. Production value amazing. If you like tarantino you like wolfenstein. Games aren't about graphics they're about fun and this is old school kick ass fun. If your a gamer and you get deep into games this one is a must have!

Just finished the game and I gotta say it`s one of the best games ever made.
Sure, the AI sucks, but the story, the gameplay, the music... everything in the game is perfect! This is much more than I expected watching these reviews and the trailer.
I would give it a 9.5 out of 10.
Such a great game...felt like it didn't go for very long,but that's probably because it was so enjoyable.
For me,this games is the best in 2014 right now...a really good shooter with an incredible story.I love a game that focuses on single player story.Every game other than COD should do that since COD is unbeatable Online.Hope the next version of DOOM will be Single player too.

I like both games. Having the fact that OldBlood is prequel to new order i advice to go with that one first than continue with NewOrder. I played on "I am death incarnate"
and invest some ten hours in OldBlood and some 18 to 22 hours in NewOrder. They could be better games but i cant say that they are bad. I really enjoyed these titles. I think MachineGames launched OldBlood (and zombies in it :) coz i read that lot of folks was not so happy they remove ocult and zombies in NewOrder as they where introduced in RTCW. I still want to find stand alone DLC as old Blood which will give me more than few hours of game play :)
