The song represents her pressure to write the lyrics for the band. They compose the music, she comes up with the words. Her "art" is what they are after. When she gives it to them they go away. Its's a heavy song about an introvert with writer's block. Good reaction. (Subbed)
Wasn't expecting you to get to this right away. Thank You. Figured the opening bassline would be of interest to Crissy. Tatiana has said the song is about introverts like her. Originally titled "An Introvert", her husband, drummer Alex Lopez(ex-suicide Silence) told her the word Wallflower in English means a shy person who stands near the wall at parties and no one wants to dance with. She liked that word and wanted to use it for the song and album name. She is also a terrible procrastinator. The guys write the music and turn it over to her for lyrics. She puts it off, and when they come asking, she gets mad and lashes out (the bullets). But the guys are used to it and it doesn't phase them(playing through the fire) Animal hasn't been on any of your Jinjer reactions, if you haven't already, show him some, bet he would love Vlad. Stay safe!! Thanks.
I think it’s kind of counterproductive to reduce Tati’s input being just lyrics. On top of writing poetic and meaningful lyrics she also weaves her melodic lines, harmonies, growls and other kinds of voicings over often rather erratic musical patterns and complex time signatures. Without her their songs would end up sounding very different. For example on this latest Wallflowers album guys initially considered Mediator just as a bonus instrumental track. But when Tati got her hands on that song it was transformed into a whole different beast (pun somewhat intended) and became a fullblown song on that album.
In addition to this song being about Tati's introversion it is also about the pressure she feels from the band when trying to write lyrics for the songs. The guys usually have all the musical arrangement done and find themselves waiting on her. She's openly admitted she's a procrastinator. Thus the band is chasing her and she gets upset with them (shooting at them) but it doesn't really have any effect on them. She finally calms down some and delivers her part (throws the sand at them) and they go away, leaving her in peace again.
Hey guys, surprised you jump on to that one now. From an interview with Jinjer: They shine a spotlight on personal struggles, highlighting mental conflicts that the pandemic has amplified. “For me, it’s therapy,” vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk explains. “You need to spit it out and into someone’s ears. Everyone experiences some form of sadness or depression, and hearing these songs may help someone mentally. If you share what you have inside and people can relate to it, knowing you’re not alone is very necessary for people to hear in their moment of need.”
Hey Chrissy & Tomikazi, I'm not as much for the guttrrals but it made sense in this song and wasn't overused. Tatiana has some pipes, yo! May check out some more, it was very interesting. TY for taking the time to react much ❤.
In the video, there's a direct correlation to the pressure she felt for procrastinating lyric writing for the album to the last second. Her bandmates pursue her, pressure her. The bullets (sharp words) at them do nothing, but then she sees the wolves on the wall, realizes her defensive anger and her over-reaction in a situation she herself created ("turning mole hills into mountains"), and throws "her art" (metaphor for the lyrics they want) at the band and they go away. The wolf story (below) is critical to understanding her internal conflicts as displayed by the wolf art. White Wolf, Black Wolf: A Cherokee Story Inside you lives a wolf of white- of patience, peace and love. He is forgiveness, hope and light; a blessing from above. This wolf of white the world will see through all the good he brings to thee. _____This wolf of white, _____this wolf of white, his gifts will set your spirit free. A wolf of black, as dark as night lives next to him inside. He’s hatred, rage, cruelty, fright, intolerance and pride. This wolf of black the world will see through evil actions, evil deeds. _____This wolf of black, _____this wolf of black, his teeth will make your spirit bleed. Within your soul, the two wolves fight to see which one will give directions and will win the right to show you how to live. Which one will win the fight? We need to pay attention; pay close heed! _____Which one will win? _____Which one will win depends upon which one we feed.
This song was wrote during the pandemic and the band sent tatiana the music they had made and she took ages to write the lyrics because she struggled to find the words during lockdown
pretty close with the baritone call. roman plays a multi scale guitar which can be anywhere up to a 28" scale. i believe baritones are traditionally 30" scale? if im wrong please correct me but its the same idea but the higher strings are a shorter scale than the lower strings. love the reaction guys im new here so keep it up!
She’s a major introvert. This song deals with that.

This piece of music is an eternal masterpiece, unmateched.

White Wolf, Black Wolf: A Cherokee Story
Inside you lives a wolf of white-
of patience, peace and love.
He is forgiveness, hope and light;

A wolf of black, as dark as night
lives next to him inside.
He’s hatred, rage, cruelty, fright,
intolerance and pride.

through evil actions, evil deeds.
_____This wolf of black,
_____this wolf of black,
his teeth will make your spirit bleed.
Within your soul, the two wolves fight
to see which one will give

to show you how to live.
Which one will win the fight? We need
to pay attention; pay close heed!

At least we all can take solace, in that if Sam Elliot ever leaves us, we have a backup
