There were rumors and insults that Anette was chosen to attract more fans with her looks. So they laughed at themselves and counter punched back with a video, mocked the rumor and got four models to replace the guys.
Thank you for your reaction. This wouldn't go in my top 10 of favorite Nightwish songs, but I still think it is pretty good, and it was just one of the first ones to come to mind when I tried to think of ones you hadn't reacted yet, so that's why I recommended it. Plus I wanted to see your slightly confused faces in the beginning of the video. 😃
The only thing I can say is Tarja is fine and Nightwish too. The past is bad Memories for both

I like Tarja and I'm uncomfortable that the song was aimed at her, but I dont think it's JUST aimed at her. Like all songs and art in general, the receiver can put their own interpretation on it, which is equally valid. It could be about a number of volatile relationship breakups. I DO like the song a lot taken on its own merits. It's a good angry stonking rock song. And the video is great.

After listening to this song for years i just found out it was written after they threw Tarja out of the band o.o
Yes tuomas said in interview in about 2008 that lyrics are wrote straight for tarja

Epica dropped a new video yesterday, The Code of Live.
You have done that song before, but this video is great, it’s at the concert I was at.
The only right decision to cross this song off the set list forever - but it would have been even better if it had never been written!
It's also the only Nightwish song that never made it onto my playlist.
I guess it was part of getting it out of the system.
But Tuomas would not write it today.
