Yeah, it's just such a shame what the MCU has devolved into. It's truly nothing special at this point, and not even a surprise when it ends in complete mediocrity. This was one was just consistently mediocre and then ended even worse. At least the other MCU shows started out amazingly and then ended badly, this was just... wow.

Yeah, it's really sad. I hope the executives and other creatives are really taking a step back to think during the writers and actors strike on how thye can just create something more focused.

This is a hot take, but I actually think the MCU's best move is to ease back on the interconnected narrative, and just see it as continuing individual stories. I'd love to get a series of grounded Spider-Man films or a second season of Moon Knight. (One with less CGI explosions and greater focus on the character)

Yes!!! Probably is a hot take, but I completely agree with you. The constant interconnected narrative sometimes limits the creativity and stories that we can get, and I'd love more self-contained stories!

@@Machuw I think of it like this. Whenever I think "I just the wish MCU would end right now, I'd think, well, I would like to see those future Spider-Man movies. I would like to see a second season of Moon Knight. I do think this is the best future, because if the MCU dies out entirely, which does look likely, they'll definitely try to salvage some elements. The interconnected universe also spilled over into look and tone. Now every movie needs 50 awful jokes and looks like it has no color

Such a shame, the opening of the first episode was everything I wanted the show to be! It was paranoid, it was tense, and the rest of the show never captured that same energy

Yeah, exactly. I really enjoyed how the opening scene set the tone of the show, and it never really followed up that consiracy-paranoia vibe :/

@@Machuw So then you could sort of say it never really DID set the tone for the show. Real missed opportunity
