Mundeshwari Temple, Kaimur Janpad, Bihar dates back to 108 CE. It's the oldest surviving Hindu temple structure in Bharat. Stop this distortion of history.

thats 2nd century CE, which is exactly what he explained in the video. He said there is no archeological evidence of hindu temples prior to 2nd century CE. And perhaps the idea of temples got much more prominence during the times of guptas.

@@Sandip_RoYYwell said.the idea temple is there but not idol worship is there.Idol worship in a temple started with Kings .Ancient Indians used to worship Lingum and two bull horns (represent pasupathi animal keeper) later even those lingims replaced by King idols & Brahamanic caste discrimination started .if u observe even today u can enter garbha gudi of shivalayam and touch the shivalongam where as u can not enter rest of temples where idols are Kings

@@puneetmishra4726gaslighting with convenient facts. Technically the author is not wrong given how majority of India was still jungles 40 yrs ago. That doesn’t mean anything because population centres still had significant structures for temple related rituals throughout the country.
It means big cities did have big temples.
Jihadis don’t dare to talk about archaeology in structures built over temple or using temple materials (to humiliate the natives as mentioned in the narratives of kings who destroyed the structures themselves) : eg. Kashi temple(gyanvapi)
But whenever it comes to dissassociate Hindus from this land/culture , these hyenas jump at the opportunity as if we don’t understand the agenda behind these controversial statements.

There were Egyptian temples over 3000 years ago. They were Greek temples over 2000 years ago, the temple of Solomon in Jerusalem existed over 2000 years ago. But apparently in India there was nothing.
Because we all know, Indian history did not exist before Buddha as per western historians.
If you look at the history of temples as actually told by the people that worship in temples, the murthy in many of the sacred pilgrimage sites existed pre Kaliyuga ( like in Srirangam, Bhadhrinath etc)

Do they think that Khilji breaking Nalanda, Mughals breaking multiple temples, taliban breaking Bamiyan Buddhas was right because their prophet did the same with Pagan temple in Mecca?
      Answer - Yes or no!

There was no vast use of stones during IVC then how was it possible to build a temple by rocks? How is it possible that temple had similar structure at the time of IVC as it was at the time of GUPTA EMPIRE or before.

It is possibility that they had temples which had similar to their house structure or may be they build it in their home seperately like we do today. Because many cultures of IVC are still being followed today eg. bangles, coloured shawl( recently found in RAKHIGARHI dates back to 6000bce), bangles in whole arms of both ,metals and sea shell bangles, thick necklace of metals , earthen pot in almost all rituals ( IVC used earthen pot for all purposes also for death rituals) ,

The temple architecture obviously did exist even before 500 AD, because its impossible that you will have such sophisticated architecture as a rock cut kailash nath temple just a couple of 100 years after 5th century. Obviously it didn't exist in stone, but did in much less conservable materials like teak and other kinds of wood.
That's why the initial rockcut temples mimic the wood cut architecture in india! Same is the case with earlier cities and palaces, all were built with wood, and thus anything rarely survives, other than the bases of these structures that were made with brick and stone!
Brahmins may or maynot have supported temple architecture initially. In any case there is no negative injunction on temples. Plus, the 6 Hindu philosophies of Hinduism other than the so called 'mainstream brahminism' , are much older, perhaps even older than buddha! You are totally focused on Brahmins...on the other hand, the entire upanishads moved very early from advaita to qualified Advaita, as it became popular among the masses. There must have been some place to keep the newly sagun deities.
Old man is a leftist and is proud of the shallow and narrow interpretations of history. The lack of proof of something doesn't mean that things weren't there, it may also mean that they may not have survived. The latest example is recently found Sinaulii wooden chariot, which is much older than 1500 bce. These historians seem like rattu totas, rather than real meaty researchers of their own subjects. They think of themselves as the vanguards of knowledge 😂😂

Actually it's a bit misleading to say Buddhist temples existed prior to Hindu ones. Buddhists pantheon and Hindu pantheon were pretty much the same (Like Vishnu in Mahayana, Shiva in Tibetan). Buddhists did use temples to mediate. Brahmanical dissociation can be best seen as rivalry against Buddhists. Buddhists who preached sanyas & forgoing family life, left out social obligations (duties to your parents, funerals, new home, birth of a child etc.). Brahmin focus on these rituals reflects the needs of the society at that time. That's why Brahminical texts is focused on role of householder (Ghrihasta).
This is where Dharmashastra and sutras comes into the picture.
Also only half of the dharnashashtras have survived into contemporary age. So what we know is quite incomplete. Maybe there's a dharmashastra that specifically talks about Devalaka.

It is figment of imagination that Hindu temples did not exist prior to 500 ACE. There is Archeological evidence to show they had existed even in 300 BCE. During the Shung period (185-73 BCE) Vasudev (Krishna) temples were built. The Heliodorus pillar near Vidisha (M.P) is now freestanding but it was erected by the Greek ambassador to the court of King Bhagbhadra of Shung dynasty in 113 BCE and stood at the entrance of a Vasudev temple. Twenty years later King Bhagvat of the same dynasty built another 'uttam' (superlative) Vasudev temple in the neighbourhood. He also erected a pillar which is now fragmented. Unfortunately none of these temples have survived. But the inscriptions on the pillars are informative.

Fake news. In Karnataka itself, there are temples archeologically dated to 300AD, an example being the Pranaveshwara temple in Talagunda. The Kadamba Mayuravarma's inscription in front of the temple belongs to his rule that commenced in AD 345. Temple already existed then, built by Shatavahanas. Remains of brick temples of Shathavahana's who ruled from 30BCE till 340AD are found in Aihole etc. Who are you telling this cock and bull story that there was no temple before 500AD? This is sinister agenda driven fake journalism by Print.

The list of rulers and the lengths of the lengths of their reigns are preserved in ancient works. Pushyamitra the founder of the dynasty assumed power c185 BCE. The inscription on the Heliodorus pillar records that it was built during the 14th regnal year of King Bhagbhadra, the fifth ruler of the Shung dynasty. It corresponds to 113 BCE. The pillar was erected by the Greek ambassador in his court, who had converted to Bhagvatism (Vaishnavism). The pillar was built at the entrance of an existing Vasudev temple. Twenty years later King Bhagwat Shung built another Vasudev temple in the neighborhood and erected a pillar at the entrance. It was during his 12th regnal year. The Heliodorus pillar was destroyed but the fragments were joined and it was re-erected and stands in Besnagar near Vidisha. The Bhagwat pillar is found in fragments but the inscriptions are intact.

No matter when temples began, they are not the imagination of the Modi Govt. Hindus have faith in temples. Shekhar Gupta and his organization are making a mockery of Hindu beliefs, by trying to cast doubt on faith. I remember a NPR (USA) interviewer asking an Indian: Why do you beleive Ram was born here? His answer was: "Why do you believe Mary was a Virgin". (I'm paraphrasing). This may be good information, but in today's context, it is malicious timing. Let people have Faith, even if Virginal, untainted by doubt. Don't spoil it for them. If Logic knew everything, God is unnecessary. But Logic don't know nothing. I ain't good enough, let alone AI.

A number of ancient Indian texts suggest the prevalence of murtis, temples and shrines in Indian subcontinent for thousands of years. For example, the temples of the Koshala kingdom are mentioned in the Valmiki Ramayana(various recent scholars' estimates for the earliest stage of the text range from the 7th to 4th centuries BCE, with later stages extending up to the 3rd century CE) The 5th century BCE text, Astadhyayi, mentions male deity arcas or murtis of Agni, Indra, Varuna, Rudra, Mrda, Pusa, Surya, and Soma being worshipped, as well as the worship of arcas of female goddesses such as Indrani, Varunani, Usa, Bhavani, Prthivi and Vrsakapayi.
The 2nd century BCE "Mahabhasya" of Patanjali extensively describes temples of Dhanapati (deity of wealth and finance, Kubera), as well as temples of Rama and Kesava, wherein the worship included dance, music and extensive rituals. The Mahabhasya also describes the rituals for Krsna, Visnu and Siva. An image recovered from Mathura in north India has been dated to the 2nd century BCE.Kautilya's Arthashastra from 4th century BCE describes a city of temples, each enshrining various Vedic and Puranic deities.
All three of these sources have common names, describe common rituals, symbolism and significance possibly suggesting that the idea of murtis, temples and shrines passed from one generation to next, in ancient India, at least from the 4th century BCE.The oldest temples, suggest scholars, were built of brick and wood. Stone became the preferred material of construction late

You have based most of your arguments only on Dharmashastras. Some counter arguments:
    Literary sources -
    1) The temples of the Koshala kingdom are mentioned in the Valmiki Ramayana (various recent scholars' estimates for the earliest stage of the text range from the 7th to 4th centuries BCE, with later stages extending up to the 3rd century CE). The exact verse is Verse 8 of Chapter-50 of Ayodhya Kanda. The exact words used are chaitya and yupas. Some may argue that Chaityas are associated with Buddhist architecture. But why would a Hindu text use this word? Perhaps general populace didn't see much difference between ancient Indic religions.
    2) The 2nd century BCE "Mahabhasya" of Patanjali extensively describes temples of Dhanapati (deity of wealth and finance, Kubera), as well as temples of Rama and Kesava, wherein the worship included dance, music and extensive rituals.
    3) Kautilya's Arthashastra from 4th century BCE describes a city of temples, each enshrining various Vedic and Puranic deities.
All three of these sources have common names, describe common rituals, symbolism and significance possibly suggesting that the idea of murtis, temples and shrines passed from one generation to next, in ancient India, at least from the 4th century BCE.
    Archaeological sources-
    1) In Besnagar (3rd-2nd century BCE), the temple structures have been found in conjonction with the Heliodorus pillar dedicated to Vāsudeva. The archaeologists found an ancient elliptical foundation, extensive floor and plinth produced from burnt bricks. Further, the foundations for all the major components of a Hindu temple - garbhagriha (sanctum), pradakshinapatha (circumambulation passage), antarala (antechamber next to sanctum) and mandapa (gathering hall) - were found.
    2) The ancient temple complex discovered in Nagari (Chittorgarh, Rajasthan) - about 500 kilometers to the west of Vidisha, has a sub-surface structure nearly identical to that of the Besnagar temple. The structure is also associated to the cult of Vāsudeva (present day Krishna) and Saṃkarṣaṇa (present day Balrama), and dated to the 1st century BCE.
No doubt that present day Hinduism is different from medieval Hinduism, which is different from classical Vedic Hinduism. No doubt the stone temple architecture started flourishing from the Gupta period onwards. Please note I am not a scholar. I am just presenting information which I came across.

You think that hinduism = vedas or scriptures? How you would equate the bhakti sect of hinduism or yoga or patanjali or vipashana as related with vedas? Can you explain?

    • @goutam9945
      @goutam9945 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@nacpatil This will be too long to answer as you have mentioned various sect and literature of those sects. I will try my best to answer it in short. Your question though is not entirely related with my response and the topic of the video.
The sects you have mentioned are mostly unorganished in nature. I am by born Brahmin_Vaishnava. hence for me bhakti sect is not something new. I have the oppurtunity to endulge in multiple Vaishnava literature by born for which i am really gratefull to my birth. Once has to understand the diorama of various sects and the origin of the concept of sect wise gods or godesses. My mother is from a Brahmin_Shakta/shakti traditional family which gave me the concept of Shakta or Shakti. one thing I would like to emphasize that dividing the vedic religion in various sect made us week over the time and disturbed the power balance among societies exsisted in this country. choice of options is good but to many options made people confused over the time.
The age we are living today is "Puranic Age". Because we worship dieties those are explored via various purans. Now with every puran a Gita existed. few gitas are independent as well but most of it either a part of a Puran or Mahabharat. Now coming to your point, Without a Scripture a thought or an idea cannot be conveyed. So all the sects in India is based on some kind of scripture. no sects can exsist or survive without a scripture. Even the Advaita sect which is all about a "Single origin point theory", required the scriptures to express itself and becomes Daitwa. so yes scriptures are the fundamentals for any sect or religion to exist.
Now your point, Vedas=scriputes as you said ,then yes it is. The entire shastra is divided into Shruti and Smiriti. however in today's time we have to understand by reading it only as no other Rishis exsist in this country to give us true understanding of the scriptures. And "Hindu" religion of today is all about Puranas. we worship ram, hanuman, ganesh, karthik, krishna and all other kinds of gods are all from Purans,Mahabharat,Ramayan and various Gitas and Agam shastras.
we do not worship Indra, varun, shaptarishi, aswini kumars, agni, brahma etc. so the "Hindu" religion of today is nothing like as per the Vedas. However if we discard the Vedas then the fundamental of hindusim is gone and it will just be like muslim and christian religion. When we take pride saying our religion is oldest and shanatan in the world it is not because of some Bhakti sect book, Shaiva sect book or patanjali yoga book , it is because of the Vedas that the world considers us to be oldest and shanatan religion. nothing in "hinduism" is older than Vedas. though calling vedas, "hindu" is wrong. because the term should be Vaidic religion. the term "hindu" was coined much later in history and most importantly not by indians. Hinduism in itself now a days a collective religion because of the sects. Now suppose we destroy the vedas, what are we left with in Hinduism in modern times? nothing, but a bunch of sects those which are newer than Christian or muslim religion. these sects those which are trying to make us Abrahamic in nature is going against the fundamental of vedas. where all are collectively one for a better existence in the world.
Now, when you read 4 Vedas and three divisons of each vedas and then 6 Vedangas (not the vedanta) and all 4 parts of Kalpasutras (part of vedangas) of each vedas (as per availbility) you will gradually understand that the source of what the sects do is hidden in those texts. You just get elaboration on each when you dive into a particular sect. The origin of Vedas and Most the Vedangas are unknown but the age of each text is much older than every other sect you named. you can refer to Google Scholar or Academia website to search for various research papers on these. I will not elaborate how the ageing of text or scriptures are done. because it is too long to explore via this comment.
When you refer to Yoga or Patanjali you must understand or observe or learn that when a priest do a Puja or havan at your home or any temple is suppose to do Pranayam and use various Mudras to execute certain rituals. If the priest does not do it than it is ignorance only or a short cut puja or havan you can say. The point is, the sect you name today is already a part of the process which was originated long time back before the sect in itself.
in case of Patanjali, what he did is collected all and wrote it and organised the sutras. he never said he created the formulas he just organised it by collection. The same goes for Vyash rishi aswell , where he collected and organished the Vedas. Vedangas has own rishis for each topic.
the concept of Vipasana is not Hinduism. it is a Buddisht concept developed much much later than vedas. you need to know that there was time in India when "hinduism" was marginalised. beacuse of the sects only everybody wanted to move way from it. too muvh biased rules and wrong things started to incorporate in the name of religion. Buddhism was much easy amd clutter free that time and dominated the entire India for great number of years. vipasana was later came under the concept of hinduism after Adi Shankaracharya eliminated buddhism from India and marginalised it in India, single handedly. various other concepts came to hinduism from buddist after buddhism started to fadeway from india. The age of the Vigyan Bhairav tantra, Brihad Tantrasara, Gerhanda samhita, gorakhnath came into mainstream after Buddhism was marginalised in India.
most of these concepts discussed is similar to Mahayana, vajrayana sect of buddhism. it is a open debate that the agam and tantra is borrowed from Tibbet and part of various sects of Buddhism. No conclusion can be done on that. India is a country of "Gurus". in each traffic turn you will find a guru today and all these "gurus" of India preach what is easy to gulp and perform. this is a concept of business. where one sell according to need. people today need to do a lot of things to gain materalistic life hence they find time is short so they need "cliff note" version of religion. So these gurus sell them hatha yoga and bakti because these are easy to sell and one can twist and turn the theories according to the need of the buyer or the shisya.
You will never see any Guru doing a conference or sabha on Vedas or Vedangas. they will do sabha or conference on Bhakti and yoga. even in yoga they will not sell you the full package. what is the full package? it is Rajayoga. they will sell you hatha yoga which is a part of Rajayoga only, because they know in today's life no one will buy Rajayoga. coming to the poing this Gurus entice buyers saying the yoga scriptures and bhakti scriptures are older than Vedas. they will quote some absurd number of years without understanding how time is calculated. Just asked them to decode any book of Shulba Sutras in sanskrit, you will see how these modern age enlightened gurus endup in ICUs. reading panchasutras of barahmihir will put them to coma.
So you speaking various sects and comparing the age of it with the age of vedas is just a reflection of these so called guru infulence on society of hindus and that is also by social networking. if we don't read the fundamentals we will never reach the boundry. why they dont sell you Barahmihir, Shulba sutra and old vedas? because those are tough to comprehend and not easy to manupulate. you need a high degree of understanding and once who reach that, will not say to you what he understood, but will ask you to read it by your self. once you fail then only they will interfare. Autodiadict was the society of Vedic hindus. You dont need a guru for your entire life you just need an acharya or teacher who will help you read. but that is you who needs to understand. The concept of Guru is also new and post vedic concept. It was all about Acharyas earlier. when a person goes to acharyas house and study the scriptures as per his/her varna requirements. we is modern times created the concept of "gurukul". it is a new thing to vedic hinduism just life toothbrush coming to India during british raj.
I doubt how many sects books you have read or which sect you follow. but my suggestion would be to open up and read all the fundament scriptures no matter which sect you are. Please don't read any scripture translation or printed copy which is written or printed in modern times. Try to collect books those which are published at least 100 years back around 1900 to 1940s. you may consider some from 1960s but not newer than that. Because the generation post independence of India is useless or garbage in terms of scriptures translation and print publication quality.
I tried my best to keep it short as much as possible.
Please Note: whatever sects you have mentioned in the question or comment and I have mentioned here in my reply, I have read atleast 6 scriptures on each sect and whatever scripture I have mentioned here I read it all, in addition to the Vedas and Vedangas, multiple gitas and few upanishads.
I previously worked in IT industry for long and left it to explore spirituality only. I have no regrets and only happiness.
I said about myself not to influence you, however to explore the possibility that we can all be in peace with the situation without judgeing it right or wrong.

The core of hinuism similar to all eastern spirituality and that was to look inward for realization. I dont think we need vedas who in my opinion are overhyped. Hope Historian Patrick can also make a history video on the ethnic cleansing of native Americans, Canadians, Australians etc in the name of the church! it’s heartbreaking to find skeletons of children in the premises of Canadian churches even today. We appreciate the pope for extending apology for what had happened. This history should be taught to Indians as well by Historians like Patrick. 🙏

Archeological excavations of Katra Keshavdeva had yielded Ogee arches and balconies containing human figures, dated to 2nd century BCE. A clear indication of a existing temple at the site.
In the Astadhyayi (around the 4th century BCE), Panini gives names of Vedic deities, such as Agni, Indra, Varuna, Bhava, Sarva, Rudra, Mrda, Aryama, Tvasta, Súrya, Sóma, Indrani, Varunáni, Agnayi, Usha, Prthivi etc, who were worshipped. Bhakti or theistic form of devotion was present in Panini’s time, which is clear by his reference to devotion to Vasudeva and Arjuna, while names like Varunadatta and Aryamadatta indicate sons were named after gods like Varuna and Aryamá, to show devotion. Panini also mentioned the use of images for worship (arcas), which indicate the existence of shrines where these arcas were worshipped.
Patanjali’s Mahabhasya (2nd century BCE), which is a detailed commentary on Panini’s work, mentions the worship of Vasudeva-Krishna as a deity; and specifically mentions temples of Dhanapati (Kubera), Rama (Balarama), and Kesava (Vasudeva), where worship would occur with various elaborate rituals, accompanied by music and dance. From around the same time, there have been found murtis of Kupiro yakho (Kubera yaksa) from Bharhut, and of Balarama from Mathura. A murti with the inscription of four-armed Vasudeva-Visnu carrying gada and chakra in his upper hand and holding a sankha (broken) in the lower hand, from Malhar (Bilaspur in Madhya Pradesh), is dated to the 2nd century BCE. These murtis would all be worshipped in temples of their own.
Kautilya’s Arthasastra refers to various temples within a fortified city that enshrined Shiva, Vaisravana, Asvinikumãras, Sri (Laksmi), and Madeira (a fertility goddess associated with the sect of Mother Goddess). The Arthasastra mentions images of Aparajita (Durgã), Apratihata (Visnu), and Jayanta (Kumãra), which were worshipped by King Bhagabhadra (131 BCE, the fifth Sunga ruler); and Vaishnava shrines erected by Gautamiputra Bhagavata, the ninth Sunga ruler, in his 12th year.
Three inscriptions from Nagar (Chittorgarh, Rajasthan), refer to the construction of a stone wall that enclosed a place for worship of Sankarsana and Väsudēva by King Sarvatata of the Kanva dynasty (250-300 BCE). The Nanaghat (Pune) inscription of Naganika of the 1st century BCE refers to Vedic sacrifices by the Satavahana royal family and starts with homages to divinities such as Dharma, Indra, Sankarsana-Vasudeva, Chandra-Surya, and the Lokapalas (Yama, Varuna, Kubera, and Vásava). An inscription from Mora (Mathura) during the reign of Mahaksatrapa Sodasa (10-25 CE) records the installation of murtis of the five Vrsni heroes in a stone temple. Another Mathura inscription of the same time, found engraved on a doorjamb, records the construction of a temple with torana and vedika for Vasudeva.

I am not a history expert. Just an average Indian watching this and wondering...While our very old civilization travelled through Harappan script, Sanskrit, Old Tamil, Pali, Brahmi, Kharoshti, Farsi, Hindi-Urdu...our "noted" historians unfortunately can read only one language. English. With absolutely no knowledge of primary sources, always relying on writings of those, who still largely are of views that idolatry is a very Satanic something and we need to be "saved".

The core of Hinduism is the Yajnya, a temple is a physical manifestation of it, it dimensionally represents fire altar and the garba griha is equivalent to the fire itself. Places or sthals always had sanctity in Hinduism , this can be seen in various instances like Vishwamitra asking Ramas help for conducting Yajnya in a certain place, eventually this evolved to a temple in this sacred place which already had sanctity and is equivalent to a perpetual Yajnya due to aforementioned reasons. Temple materials wood have varied including mobile temples which could be setup for a short time.

There is a concept of religion, Vedas, in India in the time travellers India, but there are no temples. At the same time, time traveller travelled to Middle East and Europe, where there is a concept of religion, the books and also places of worship. Beauty of Hipocrisy. Everything related to religion is in India but no temples (places of worship), no ashrams nothing like that. Where is the consistency?

Yes India was a barren land and you were alive at that period to see that. Only Europeans and your favourite Muslims were able to build religious structures. We Hindus evolved to get hands to build temples only after 500 AD. So called scholars never talk about Islam (Because they fear beheading) , only say against Hinduism.

The recent dating of Mundeshwari Temple by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) anyway dates the temple structures to be around 108 AD, so this 500 AD timeline is anyway bogus...🤣 It is being brought up right now because "Coupta" needs masala for his new portal, and Ram Temple is the hot topic. So better create a controversy to drive viewership. You see he balances every side. He is making video accusing congress of not taking part in Ram Temple pran pratistha, on the other hand he has also put out this video to discredit the importance of temple in Hinduism using a distortian with clear bias against hindus.

It is for the followers to decide.
