Food and Footprints thank you so much. That is exactly why we always try to speak with the owners and find our about the history of their shop as you can discover such interesting stories and information
Lexington Candy Shop looks amazing! Great fact about being the oldest continuously operating luncheonette in NYC. One of those classic city spots that are harder and harder to find these days. Glad you highlighted it!
Food and Footprints thank you so much for watching and so glad you enjoyed it and the places we highlighted! This luncheonette is truly a gem and indeed a rarity these days!
Oh my gosh the candy shop is fabulous, it’s retro and I love how it’s still set that way. All the stores you showed us look so wonderful. Thank you for this video
FitAngie thank you so much for the kind words! Lexington Candy Shop is definitely a must visit and instantly feels like you are stepping back in time. The food is just as fabulous as the retro interior too!
this made me hungry i love the nyc food places so much better than the uk i mean you can get a slice of pizzza any time almost i love that i should of moved over when i had the chance many years ago .

@James and Karla It is not me, It is my poor digestion doesn't like it. I am sure the food is delicious and well prepared and I wish everyone who try it bon appetite. I actually found your channel when I was reading different blogs about NY and NY history. I found it very interesting and subscribed.

Sava Snacks they are definitely so fresh and delicious! And all of Orwashers homemade bread 🥖 is also fantastic. Thank you again for watching and hope you also enjoy watching some of our other videos highlighting unique small businesses and places in NYC!
Yes they do as well as many other things including grilled cheese, fries and egg creams and milkshakes. In 2025 Lexington Candy Shop will be 100 years old!
I checked to see if Orwasher's bakery would ship their breads, but unfortunately they don't at this time. Another nice vid, thanks. EDIT: I really like the Papaya King's logo. : - )
Chatsworth1979 oh that’s too bad but rad we imagine it is because overnight shipping is so expensive and they don’t use any preservatives so the bread does not keep for long. We too love Papaya King’s logo and bought a t-shirt with it on it.
The Chameleon oh yes that is most likely why Lexington Luncheonette’s egg creams taste EXTRA GOOD! Thank you so much for watching and commenting to us.
Kim believe it or not it, it’s a boys Hanes t-shirt. I got a whole package of them at an old family-owned hosiery store on the Lower East Side, Ideal Hosiery and you can see the shop and me buying them in our video: th-cam.com/video/FvSbGMJ6ju4/w-d-xo.html
Nancy Keegan yes this was filmed in 2019 when people were not thinking about hygiene like they are these days because of the Coronavirus. Not that it is an excuse because good hygiene should be paramount every day regardless of whether a virus is present.
Lexington Candy Shop has the history that goes along with the food, but the food is overpriced and average at best. I was disappointed with the sandwich I ate from them recently...

Food and Footprints you are so right! He is such a good boy and never seems NOT to be hungry especially for human food!
I am not a huge fan of such food but I definitely like the environment and aesthetics.
