*Roasted radishes on a keto diet? Genius! These keto roasted radishes look like a fantastic low-carb alternative to roasted potatoes. I can't wait to try them* 😊
I am trying to find ways to cook and eat vegetables that I normally don't buy so I really appreciate this video. Without you I may never have tried raddishes.
Great video and for anyone who has never tried radishes this way they are absolutely delicious and nothing like those raw peppery slices we all had on a salad.
I'm in the UK and radishes are really cheap today so I got a pack and thought, "I wanna roast 'em!" (for a summer casserole with other roots) - but had no idea how or for how long. Thank you for all the info 🙂
Ok, I'm back. I seasoned some the way you did, and I used cajun seasoning on the rest. Both were good. I liked your way better. But it's not a taste I'd crave. Guess I'm just not that BIG on radishes. THANKS for sharing.
Congrats on trying something new. We get in a rut of cooking the same things all the time. I do agree that this might not be something where you go.."wow, I haven't had roasted rasdishes in a while." It's one of those things where you are substituting for potatoes or something else while eatting low-carb or keto. Keep on cooking!
425 F is too high a heat for olive oil. Avocado oil or lard ( if you have a clean source) would be better. The greens are very alkalising... Good in juices and smoothies.. And radishes are the EASIEST and quickest thing to grow in your garden. Thanks for the vid.
I was just searching around for new ways to eat radishes.....now that I say that it sounds pretty weird. But ya, thank you for the recipe, Im gonna try this!
Hey Kathryn! You have great eyes. One of my Kitchen Kids was helping me prep and they thought I said 4-5 teaspoons😬 Couldn't stop filming at that point. The correct measurement is what I mentioned 1/4 teaspoon. As with any recipe, season to your own taste. Thanks for watching!
Stephan Blake - yes! you are the trail blazer. :) I never had them this way either but they were good. I will be cooking them this way again and trying different spices and herbs to see what complements them.
In the country I'm from, we do that with taro, sweet potatoes and cassava as well as potatoes. I went back home while my boyfriend was deployed a few years ago and sent him a care package with them. I'm sure you can do it. But like cassava chips, it's fun to try but a gamble on if they will be good or not.
That's a tough one. If you have a grill or fire you might be able to "Roast" or saute in a pan. add a little oil, cut the radishes in smaller pieces and cook over lower heat, moving them around more often. Let me do some testing and get back with the results.
@@KitchenDadsCooking , Thank you so much for your quick respond. I have an electric induction but not oven..I will try Tomorrow and let you know how it goes😊😊
What’s the texture of these like?! I want to try them, but nervous about the texture! I almost feel like it would be like cooking a very unripe watermelon?!
The radishes soften up, similar to a baked potato, but not quite as soft as that. Try them, you'll like them or not, but at least you tried something new!!
I wonder if we can roast these like the Brits do?: parboil them for a bit, then place in a sheet pan that's been heating in the oven with some goose fat
If you are not a fan of raw radishes you still might like this. The "bitter" and "strong" flavor of the radish changes when you roast them. Hard to say buttery but they soften and the flavor really milds out. Only one way to find out!
I use my bowl to smoke weed, and I bake hard dawg! love this guy. he's such a stoner. "fork tender" bro chicken tender forks next level. whats a radish?
*Roasted radishes on a keto diet? Genius! These keto roasted radishes look like a fantastic low-carb alternative to roasted potatoes. I can't wait to try them* 😊
So good!
Throw some rosemary and thyme on them and I bet it will take them to a whole other level
Cory John - both are in my garden. Going to try that! Thanks for watching!
I will . Good suggestion. Thanks
Mmm

Thanks for letting me know! We all get into a rut sometimes. :)
Great video and for anyone who has never tried radishes this way they are absolutely delicious and nothing like those raw peppery slices we all had on a salad.
Thanks Michael. I agree. Never thought they would be this good.
Radishes are also super easy to grow and keep many bad bugs away.

Glad I could help!
I use lightly melted butter instead and add dried parsley garlic powder and salt and pepper all mixed in the bowl. Then bake. Yummmy
Butter makes everything better!
I tried this out today and came out real tasteful. Instead of roasting it in the oven, I did it on the stove top :)
Stovetop works just fine! Thanks for letting me know!
just made them. really good. thank you
I am making these right now, and I used some garlic black pepper seasoning - McCormick blend. Super delish!
Awesome!
Im gonna give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration. I'll be back.
I love radishes. I substitute them for potatoes in soups, stews, etc. Thanks for this idea.
So many things you can do with radishes!!
I use them in Keto clam chowder, i boil them in chicken broth then add them in..
I'm trying this
I make potatoe salad with radishes. Gotta try this!
Sounds great!
These are delicious!
Yay!!
Looks yum. My son’s Bearded Dragon loves the radish leaves, so no waste here.
They are good. Thanks for watching!
C😎😎L!❤😊
I love roasted radishes! I add them into my 'Nicoise' salad.
Great idea!
Nice. I’m going to make this tomorrow. Thank you
Super. Hope you enjoy!

Awesome! I think you will be suprised!
Hey I just checked out something like this just yesterday
They are better than I thought they would be!
Will try it
awesome. Hope you like it!
I like mine roasted longer, more color. But these are great!
Yes! more color!
Just looked out of curiosity to see if you can and im quite surprised
In cooking, it's always nice to be suprised in a good way!

It’s not too high. It’s just right.
not true.
Actually 425 is a great roasting temp with olive oil. It’s exactly what I’ve been doing everytime i roast veggies.
Yeah, I thought this too
I was just searching around for new ways to eat radishes.....now that I say that it sounds pretty weird. But ya, thank you for the recipe, Im gonna try this!
Yes, sounds weird but tastes good! Thanks for stopping by.
@@KitchenDadsCooking I made your recipe, it was pretty tasty! I had no clue you could eat radishes this way. Thank you!!!
@@penispiles Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. It is a bit strange when you change the way you cook something and it's good!
Hey! You might not see this but you haven’t posted in a long time! We need some more vids!
Been filming! More coming soon!
I would love to be able to print this recipe but I couldn't find it.
Did he say 1/4 of a TEASPOON of the seasonings? because it looked like a whole lot more!

Have you ever tried radishes this way? Give me a Y or N
Right after I viewed this, I went to the kitchen and made some. I’m hooked. They were awesome!!
J - So glad you liked it!
No, but I will pick some up tomorrow to give them a try 🙂
I find the white radish is better for cooking. And the red for salads.
Yes the white are more mild. Do the the added color though. Thanks for watching!!
I like them in the oven with green pepper and onion then I sprinkle cheese on them just before I take them out of the oven
Sounds wonderful. I'll have to give that a try!
P.s. I didn't see you use any oil in the vid but you did mention it at the end.
About 3 tablespoons, check out around 2:40 in the video. Thanks!
@@KitchenDadsCooking thank you. 🙋🏻♀️
Are you Cajun? You look like my friend's Cajun dad!
Xena Callisto - I'm Italian and German. No Cajun but I love Cajun food and zydeco music!
First one to the comment section eh? Alright I've never eaten radishes like that before but they do looks delicious 😊
Stephan Blake - yes! you are the trail blazer. :) I never had them this way either but they were good. I will be cooking them this way again and trying different spices and herbs to see what complements them.
What is the differece bet te white radishes with the red ones?
The reds are more peppery. White tend to be more mild.
What's the best way of getting rid of the bitter radish taste ?
Roast them! Raw radishes have that "bite." When you roast them, that goes away.
Going to try using radishes tonight in corned beef hash. Little concerned. Was your radish supposed to sound raw?
The radish still has a little firmness to it. The sound could be the closeness to the microphone
Can radishes be sliced and deepfried like potato chips?
In the country I'm from, we do that with taro, sweet potatoes and cassava as well as potatoes. I went back home while my boyfriend was deployed a few years ago and sent him a care package with them. I'm sure you can do it. But like cassava chips, it's fun to try but a gamble on if they will be good or not.
I've not deep fried them but have sliced thin and crisped them up in the air fryer
Holy sheet - that's #priceless
Jeff - yes, what a great name for cookware!
Anyway to make to make them to make them not juicy?
They are not super juicy, but you could cook them more so they would release more of their moisture. Would have to experiment for how long.
@@KitchenDadsCooking I kept adding time went to 15 mins and bite into it and it was so juicy.
@@lauraArual hmmm. May not be able to cook the "juiciness" out of the radishes. Thanks for letting me know!
1/4 teaspoon x 10
Good eyes! Actually I meant to say tablespoon!
Gotta be crazy to buy radishes. It's the easiest thing you could ever grow.
Yes. Like growing them. Also like eating them while the others are growing. Thus, the trip to the store 😁
How about, who don't have oven available!???

What about using the broiler, anyone tried that?
Would get too hot too quickly.

400 degrees 19 minutes in air fryer
another great way. Love my air dryer, use it every day. Thanks for the comment
@@KitchenDadsCooking They turned out really well 👌🏽👌🏽
@@marcorolo4726 Yay! Love to hear this. Thanks for letting me know.
I wonder if we can roast these like the Brits do?: parboil them for a bit, then place in a sheet pan that's been heating in the oven with some goose fat
Texas Tea - don't see why not. The parboil would soften them up and the goose fat would give them lots of flavor. Try it and let me know!
I dont like raw radishes, not sure about this lol

425 for 12 to 15 minutes
No olive oil or nothing
Olive oil is my friend 😁
No
Should try it! Was surprisingly good
