      Lol, truth.
      Just leave it in comfort mode and drive it. You don't need to use snow mode in this vehicle. Fourth winter in mine, and outside of trying snow mode once, I've never used it. Buckle up for safety, everyone!

      What's the point of having a new car with snow mode if it doesnt work? If I have a lot of snow it make sense to at least be able to use the mode that a new car designed it for.

    I was driving my new 2023 EX when the accelerator became unresponsive. It turned out the that my foot was not on the accelerator properly. I was pushing down on the bottom of the petal instead of having my foot flush with the whole petal. When it happened a few more times I knew my foot was not on the pedal properly and as soon as I made the adjustment I was back in business. I guess while driving I would lose my reach to the pedal with my leg/foot (old knees). After that revelation, I made sure I was pushing down on the pedal the way that I`m supposed to. Make sure your seat is adjusted forward enough for optimum flush contact with the pedal. I hope this is helpful!

    Exact thing happened to me in a 2024 Telluride X-Pro a few times. At first, I thought that it wasn’t responding due to detected slippage, but later testing proved that to not be the case. I’ve now quit using snow mode on open roads…only use it on slippery driveway type conditions with the center lock hub engaged. The good news is that the AWD option seems to engage fine in other modes when needed in snow conditions (as verified on the instrument cluster individual wheel power display page). Obviously, Kia is not fixing the issue, similar to their lack of response to the tow hitch issue.
    Great video…thanks for alerting others to this issue. Just to encourage others, we live in the CO mountains and the AWD Telluride performs fine in snow with the Continental AT tires on the X-Pro…just be careful of the snow mode as the author has highlighted for us here.

    Hello Again Freedom Driven. Hello to all, it's Saturday, February 17, 2024 and over night we got about 1.5 inches of fresh snow. Here in Central NY state, we are about 60 inches short on snow for the season. So I just took out our 2023 KIA Telluride SX, that was built on April 14, 2023 in the snow. I have Ice Edge 20 inch snow tires and I switched into SNOW mode and drove wright out of the driveway with no hesitation. Came to stop sign, turned left, no hesitation. Drove to a nearby school parking lot that wasn't plowed yet, drove all over the place, stop and go, engaged ALL WHEEL LOCK with snow mode, no problem. Turned off the SNOW MODE and all WHEEL LOCK and gave it the gas, and I did notice a little fish tailing, but I expected that. So, I hope everyone who has had a problem over the last 7 months or so has gotten some answers, as to why the vehicle has hesitation in SNOW MODE. Ours is not the Prestige model, as I wanted to keep the sticker price under $50,000.00 and have AWD. For those in Snow country, please drive safely in winter weather, avoid tailgating and adjust speed to road conditions. As seen lately, on the world news with the crazy winter weather all over our country, and the vehicle road pileups, their are many people our there driving to fast and probably don't have snow or winter tires on their vehicles, so stay safe and good luck with your vehicle issues.

    This same thing happened to us 2 days ago -- for the second time. We were in snow mode both times. I was driving in a residential area going slightly uphill after turning onto our street. I was going about 10-15 miles per hour trying to accelerate to about 25. The car suddenly became utterly non-responsive. We have noticed that the parking brake randomly goes on while driving which is bizarre, but in my semi-panic over having no power while driving (which has only ever happened to me 40-some years ago when I ran out of gas), I did not check to see if the parking brake was on. I immediately looked at the gas tank, though. I put the brakes on and stopped the car, and then it operated normally when I tried to accelerate again. This is a HUGE safety issue! It will be interesting to see what the dealership mechanic tells us. The first time it happened, my wife was getting onto a four-lane highway. She was turning left. She had normal power to accelerate across the median and then pushed the gas pedal to accelerate up to speed. The car suddenly had zero power. The speed limit on that highway is 55 MPH, so that could have been VERY dangerous.

  • @dapdrums
    @dapdrums 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    1 week and 700 miles in on a 2024 Telluride and you are absolutely right that any mode is somewhat delayed/unresponsive when you hit the gas. What the heck? Once it kicks in, it accelerates, but problematic at an intersection etc...

  • @leeklinghoffer7913
    @leeklinghoffer7913 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Whole- heartedly agree with you. I don't have the trim line with snow mode, but that lack of performance is definitely a huge safety concern. My advice is to bring it in to Kia at least 3 times for the same issue. If they can't or won't fix it, you're on your way to being covered by the "lemon law". You should be fully satisfied with a brand new car and, aside from the safety issue, it sucks the joy out of owning a new vehicle... especially one that is so luxurious and highly acclaimed. Good luck to you.

  • @richcapra2957
    @richcapra2957 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I experienced that with my Sorento. This is because the traction control keeps the RPMs low so your wheels don’t spin. It can happen when it’s dry as well if you turn on gravel or a bump and it detects wheel slipping. You can override traction control so that’s your solution.

    • @freedomdriven9055
      @freedomdriven9055  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's done it comfort and eco mode too now and on dry pavement so I don't think it's traction control. We are just driving it normal not slamming the gas to where tires would potentially spin🤷‍♂️

  • @truth959
    @truth959 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The problem is that the computer is sensing no traction. If you want to get rid of this problem, put on some winter rated tires that don't turn into hockey pucks when the weather gets cold.

    • @ka124as
      @ka124as 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So, if it senses no traction it just doesn’t respond at all? Kinda seems ironic for it to do this in ‘snow mode’.

    • @truth959
      @truth959 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ka124as It's doing something. It's looking for traction. No point just spinning your wheels to go nowhere. You need better tires, and don't just go for the cheapest junk you can find. That's why you have the problem in the first place.

    • @freedomdriven9055
      @freedomdriven9055  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's not the problem because it's done it in other modes on dry pavement. We just noticed it first in snow. But it has nothing to do with the tires. I'm not that dumb haha.

    We took delivery of our 2023 Telluride SX on May 23 of this year. Because it’s Summer, I haven’t tried Snow Mode. Only thing that is slightly annoying is the door unlock feature with key fob in pocket. Slight depression in driver/passenger door handle where I think there was a button on previous models. So what I discovered when approaching the car, either side, a little light illuminates the door handle well, and it seems to unlock when your hand enters the handle area. Interesting mode. Thanks for the report. Will check the snow mode out this winter here in upstate NY

      Hello Freedom Driven. Well sorry to say I can't report on snow mode with the above 2023 Telluride SX, as here in Syracuse, NY we have had hardly any snow,
      I even bought Ice Edge 20 inch snow tires, and can't even report on them.
      However, this weekend, perhaps we just might get 6 inches. So I might see how things work. Another thought, I noticed on the 2024's, is there a heater or someway to warm up the fluid in the center differential.? I will try to report as soon as I can drive in Snow Mode.

      The Awd lock button only stays engaged up to 30 mph. Read your owner's manual. You are not supposed to drive faster than that with the awd lock button engaged.....but Kia even has that covered because they know people won't spend a few minutes becoming familiar with the operational instructions of their $55k vehicle, so they programmed in an automatic disengagement feature that takes the vehicle out of awd lock if a driver tries to exceed the 30 mph limit.
      Kia doesn't want to have to be on the hook under warranty for people's ignorance.
      Read your manuals....people!

    We had a similar situation happen a few times. After playing around with it we realized that the parking brake button located just behind the dial that switches the drive modes had turned on while driving. I'm not sure how it automatically switched on while driving, but as soon as I pushed it, the vehicle became responsive again. This happened once while traveling downhill at about 45 mph and another time while cruising on the highway going 60 mph. The vehicle stopped responding out of the blue and would not maintain speed. The parking button was the issue both times. Not sure if this helps, but maybe give it a try next time it happens. I still have not figured out the cause of why the parking turns on mid drive though.

    • @jackieyoung3359
      @jackieyoung3359 ปีที่แล้ว

      This sounds really fishy because when you put the car in drive it’s supposed to automatically release the e-brake. So how could it turn on while you’re driving? It seems everybody’s car has their own quirks.

      @@freedomdriven9055 READ YOUR OWNER'S MANUALS, PEOPLE!
      We are still waiting for our Telluride but I can tell you this:
      The 'snow mode' in a Toyota Highlander we owned changed the transmission so that it would slowly start from a stop, and altered the throttle response so that the tires wouldn't spin in the snow. The odd throttle response is normal....the idea being they want the vehicle to gain purchase in the snow. The tires won't spin any faster than programmed on purpose in this mode for traction reasons.....they know most people will floor the throttle like idiots if they can't get the vehicle to move quickly from a stop in snowy conditions ( which of course will just result in slipping wheels)....because most people don't know how to drive.....so that mode let's the computer operate the throttle.....it is completely normal in this mode to feel like your vehicle has no power and will start off from a stop barely moving.
      I doubt the poster has any real issue at all. I, personally, would only use snow mode when stopped at lights under heavy road snow conditions....and then move the mode button to normal once I got going...at which point I'd let the auto awd take control when it feels it is necessary.
      I might leave it in snow mode if I was just creeping along a heavily snow covered road.....at very slow speeds as is safe in that type of weather situation.
      Snow mode is purposely made to make your throttle response sluggish so you don't put too many rpms to your wheels which would result in your tires spinning....
      Again....READ YOUR MANUALS!

    • @freedomdriven9055
      @freedomdriven9055  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @tgilldesign You think I don't know how to drive? 🤣 Obviously snow mode is designed to grip and not let the tires spin but you clearly didn't listen to a thing I said and don't understand what the car is doing. When the car doesn't react at all for a couple minutes, that is not normal and has nothing to do with an owners manual and understanding snow mode. But please as you read through your owners manuals for fun and find one that states the car shouldn't react to a gas pedal for 120 seconds let me know cause I'd love to know what idiot designed that.

They told me same of the same things but NO ONE HAS COMPLAINED. They said two techs spent time on the internet and could not see anyone else with that complaint. I asked for their email and I would send them a couple of videos of people on youtube that have had the problem. There was a video on here from a person that reviews cars that it happened on his snowy test drive on his video. It is no longer up I am guessing Kia made him pull the video down. Then they told me that with the check engine light NOT on they would have to bill me for the service call as it is not a warranty problem. When I picked up my car they told me this was my free pass and they would not bill me. They put me on a guilt trip that they would have to eat the money and time spent because Kia would not reimburse them for my service call. Not my problem! They told me you should never drive in Snow Mode? What?? Not to drive in Snow Mode. Then what is Snow Mode?

      Ya super annoying that they won't do anything about it and just blow it off like it's not a problem. It's a bummer your experiencing the same thing but good to know I'm not the only one haha.

    You are the first guy I have heard having this problem..... I have watched tons of videos.... you must have a lemon. Friends of ours have the Hyundai Palisade with the identical drivetrain.... they have NEVER had this issue.

      @@freedomdriven9055 If still under warranty, bring your complaint back to them multiple times, and try different dealerships to get a remedy. Check your local lemon law rules.... and if you cannot get a resolution and meet the criteria for a lemon law suit - get a free lemon law attorney - they will take 30-50% of a cash settlement generally speaking - or, if you get the Mfg to give you a 100% buyback, they will collect their fees directly from the mfg...with NO upfront costs to you. I, sadly, had to do this with 2 Generic Motors (GM) cars and won both times. Whatever you do; don't buy a GM car.... took me decades of crap-boxes to learn that lesson.
