This happened to me too. The only difference I massacred several slices by eating just the crust not the actual slice of pizza, one person got fed up and started giving me her crust. Next thing I know more crust was getting thrown at me than I could possibly handle 😭 I somehow managed not to throw up infront of everyone.
Because that part has more "bread" than the rest of the pizza and makes you feel fuller, and sometimes you want to delay the feeling of being full so you can eat more pizza out of gluttony xD
I mean, the main problem with crust is that it's all dry and bready and doesn't have any cheese or filling to speak of, save for a few often burnt bits of residue. Solving the problem by directly adding melty cheese is pragmatic, bordering on brilliant!

I like to boil the crust in a large pot with sugar, and yeast. Then apply a lid with a15 foot copper tuning coil. Allow the other end of the copper tube to drain into a mason jar until the contents of the pot is rendered. The fluid in the jar will be pizza crust rye whiskey, serve with fresh mint sprig, and a splash of olive juice.
I know right? If you don’t like the crust, you might as well have a pizza made of tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni only. The crust is there to balance out the lack of dough in the centre.

I add hot sauce to my ranch and eat it with my pizza (red hot doesn't taste as good as tapito in ranch but it still works) and its a great combo if your looking for a dip with a tad more flavor. Plus its only two ingredients and its delicious

Honestly though, the crust is the best part of the pizza. The consistency is better, there's always going to be some cheese and some sauce that's made it's way from the rest of the pizza onto the crust and you don't get the oily bits.
