Hi. Oh, by the way, in England and Australia, this is known as "cottage pie" because it's made with beef instead of lamb. It's called "cottage pie" because they keep their cows at the cottage, but they keep their lambs inside their house.

olive grease, veggies on the edges, vinegoshister sauce, apple corn, one of my two favorite shines, ocean hot tub, also, fork o'clock starch clouds, starch frosting,
Quick note from an Englishman, using beef mince makes it cottage pie! However, this is a great recipe and pretty much bang on how it's made traditionally. That aside, my family and others we know serve with baked beans (and it's incredible). Not sure if maybe this is an area thing but I urge everyone to try it!
"Enough for 4 shepherds or 2 sheep depending on the circumference of your sheep". Now there's a paradox if I ever heard one but we live for these on YSAC...
Hilarious! The commentary made me laugh out loud, especially the fun names you came up with. The recipe is simple enough to follow to great results. Thanks for the humor, it was well received and welcome. Keep them coming!
amazing! here chileans make this (with a similar but simpler filling [mince and onions]), but it's literally called potato cake, even if it's more like a potato pie than a cake. also it has random chunks of eggs, olives and sometimes even raisins or pulled chicken.
cottage pie can be made out of any meat, shepherd pie is a subclass of cottage pie. Also because YSAC added cheese on the end techically you could call that a cumbria pie. But it still is a cottage pie, as cumbria is a subclass of cottage
WOW it looks absolutely delicious! Thank you for always sharing great recipes that are easy to follow and delicious. You have inspired me to start my own channel. Have a great day🌷
Note: if using beef do not call this a Shepards pie near an English person. They will expect lamb and be a bit upset. They might insult you and say "this is a blooming cottage pie you donky!"
I just made this, didn't include the worchestershire saue, red vinegarstershire sauce, apple corn, or dead herbs. Still turned out the best thing I've eaten in years. As it went into the oven and I started on the stack of dirty pots and pans, I figured I would never make this again because of the prepwork required. Then I took a bite. I was wrong. I think I will be having this every Sunday for the rest of my life. It's so good. I'm actually afraid to make it as depicted in the video; I might not survive the experience.
I'm glad to see the only decent recipe we have mentioned on this channel. Pro-tip for mash - cut your potatoes as small as possible to reduce the amount of time you need to boil them for, and make it easier to mash! Also, ingredients which are great to add to mash potato: - Soy sauce - Sriracha - Garlic powder - Onion powder - Henderson's Relish (if you're from the North of England) - Brown/HP/Barbeque/Worcestershire sauce (if you're not) - Literally anything else. Go wild. Mashed potato is merely the canvas. Pour your feelings into it.

Just found this channel looking for lamb somethings.
I'll watch every vid for comedic ingredients alone...Fabulicious Find 😂😋

Ripped boi
That "ripped" caption killed me 😂😂😂
"Enough for 4 shepherds or 2 sheep depending on the circumference of your sheep". Now there's a paradox if I ever heard one but we live for these on YSAC...
Hilarious! The commentary made me laugh out loud, especially the fun names you came up with. The recipe is simple enough to follow to great results. Thanks for the humor, it was well received and welcome. Keep them coming!
I listen 1/2 as much for the commentary as the quick down and dirty cooking info, funny as hell
No song at the end? You’re making this Shepard cry.
"Peacicle" just about made me choke on my cereal
I'm sorry you ripped your bicep. Thanks for still making videos through it all
it wasn't easy but it was worth it
amazing! here chileans make this (with a similar but simpler filling [mince and onions]), but it's literally called potato cake, even if it's more like a potato pie than a cake. also it has random chunks of eggs, olives and sometimes even raisins or pulled chicken.
That’s my wife’s nickname (we’re farmers)

🥴
Cottage pie: with beef
Shepherd's pie: with lamb
cottage pie can be made out of any meat, shepherd pie is a subclass of cottage pie. Also because YSAC added cheese on the end techically you could call that a cumbria pie. But it still is a cottage pie, as cumbria is a subclass of cottage
what about big ben pie?
Shepherd's pie: with shepherd
Cottage pie: with cottage
pie pie with pp.
@@TheSlavChef yea, if you want to put your bell end it it
I have my own sheperds pie recipe I learned from my mom, but I'm going to try yours to see how it holds up!! :)
ooooh report back
Yeah.
Well, how'd it go?
WOW it looks absolutely delicious! Thank you for always sharing great recipes that are easy to follow and delicious. You have inspired me to start my own channel. Have a great day🌷
I enjoy watching you for the humor, not sure why it took so long for you to be suggested to me.
I regret not knowing this channel earlier.
Note: if using beef do not call this a Shepards pie near an English person. They will expect lamb and be a bit upset. They might insult you and say "this is a blooming cottage pie you donky!"
isnt lamb lean as well? cooking all those veggies in the beef runoff without draining is a bit much
As an Englishman I can confirm this is accurate, you bloody donkey.
wait what ive always used beef in shephards pie and im english haha
@@sophieboydell2683 That's cottage pie. Shepherd's pie is always made with lamb, hence the shepherd part
Came to the comments to see if anyone said it was cottage pie and got immediately called out by this comment 😔
I actually made this today cuz of this video. It tasted really good and my brother also enjoyed it a lot. Thanks ysav
My solution to herbs going bad too quickly is screwing the amount called for and just adding ALL of it. Herbs have taste, taste is good.
this is a great solution to the herb dilemma
Dry them .
Looks delicious, and the humorous elements are great!
Lol the last video I watched before this was a Kitchen Nightmare episode where Gordon Ramsay throws up after eating a Shepherd's pie.
He's definitely secretly English because he was able to say Worchester without messing up.
"Potato moonshine" or as I like to call it, vodka
Thanks for the laughs! So needed this😂
“Dead herbs” 🔥
I'm glad to see the only decent recipe we have mentioned on this channel. Pro-tip for mash - cut your potatoes as small as possible to reduce the amount of time you need to boil them for, and make it easier to mash! Also, ingredients which are great to add to mash potato:
- Soy sauce
- Sriracha
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Henderson's Relish (if you're from the North of England)
- Brown/HP/Barbeque/Worcestershire sauce (if you're not)
- Literally anything else. Go wild.
Mashed potato is merely the canvas. Pour your feelings into it.
