These cars are a lot sturdier and trouble-free than people might think if they're properly maintained and they don't require too much maintenance...
My '66 is a perfect daily driver and it's as comfortable in an urban environment ( namely Downtown Miami ) as it is on wide open highways...and besides it was built as a grand touring car so long trips in it are a pure delight...
Congratulations on your beautiful E-type and thanks for the beautiful video with all these pictures of France 🙂

      Good day @jeromewagschal9485 ,
you are sport on, these cars have troubles when they are used and maintained properly. On this trip, Owen has done 4.000 km in his OTS and I have done 3.500 km and we had no troubles at all. We did not even check oil and water every day. Just parked the car and used it the day after for some shopping just as a standard car and that at about 1.000 miles away from home. The cruising along can not be more enjoyable. In a modern car it would have been boring or let's say less exciting. More video of this trip from Italy, Austria and Germany are still to be uploaded. Stay tuned and share.

      Hello @beegee22,
many thanks for watching. It really was the trip of our lifetime. We have covered about 3500 km in 23 days. Always 2-3 days stopover to enjoy. Can not tell which was the best stage but I would say crossing the Großglockner in Austria was the most spectacular scenery. There had great food and wine. More of this trip will be uploaded hopefully soon. Stay tuned Maikel

This is what you do if you have an E-type, cruse and enjoy the scenery and friends.

      Hi, to a lucky guy.
The area is so wonderful for driving a classic car. We had such a good time and enjoyed the food in the Alsace region. We are now further down south of the Alps. Hope the next video will inspire you for the next tour.

Welcome to France Maikel, your wife and our English friends,
Our beautiful country is a link between Germany and the United Kingdom, just like the one between the E and the Type 😉

      Hello Loic,
your countryside is wonderful. Also the food and wine. It was not our first trip and certainly not our last one. It needs to be enjoyed 👍. Hope your E is making good progress.

      Hi Chris,
many thanks for your comment and I wonder why it is like that! That we have so many super restored cars and do not see them on the road? What is wrong with those cars? Owens car is is a very very early RHD and he is enjoying it so much. I have a more "modern" version on this tour but we also do compare them and will make another video as kind of evaluation. They are the two opposite but both are restored to original spec with all original parts. (except we both have a cool cat fan i our cars) Have to say it is 36°C these days in Italy. And standing it traffic does make you watch the temp gauge. But the rest is all good and lots of thumbs up. Ah, forgot. to mention that we always find a privileged parking space. :-)
Keep watching and sharing. More to come.

Hi Maikel . Well l know that OBL would knock spots off yours for value but yours looks so elegant and probably more practical for touring . And for me white looks so bland on an "e"type .But l take my hat to him for just treating as it should be and not just a trailer queen. Thanks Maikel.

      Many thanks John,
we are on an extraordinary trip, merging classic cars into great landscape, food wine and scenery. I am surprised myself how good the green car is looking. But having the OBL in the mirror is not that bad to the see when you are leading :-). Albeit we have crossed the Alps on the way down and are staying at a very nice lake in Italy at the moment, there are still plenty of miles ahead of us. Stay tuned and share. It is not only about cars. ;-)

Hey Maikel, at 3.50 it seems that your temperature gauge is very high. Did you have any heating problems during the trip?

    • @JaguarEType
      @JaguarEType  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, well spotted.
You are right. The gauge indicates 20°C too much. We measured it and it is either the sender unit or the gauge. Will figure out when we are back. Fan (coolcat) works perfectly. Not needed on the road but it starts when we stop and the heat is building up under the bonnet. I wired it directly to the battery bypassing the ignition.
      Thanks for watching. Maikel
