A few months after my mother died, randomly Forget-Me- Nots came up in my yard. I had tried LITERALLY FOR YEARS AND YEARS to grow them and NOTHING. Then suddenly little blue flowers were there after she passed. She was an avid life long gardener. Miss you Mom, RIP ❤

I only discovered your channel last year, but I now feel like I’ve been with you from the beginning, & you’ve inspired me to do more with my modest garden. The silver birch I planted in winter is doing well & even though I’m now 70, I hope to share many happy years with it, & see it mature.

I think that one of the most useful things about your videos is showing how much growth occurs in trees in a relatively short length of time. The oak tree that you show which is only around 17 years old, while certainly not as large as it will be at maturity, is a good sized tree as it stands now. I think that people moving into a house with little landscaping and considering trees as additions shy away from real shade trees, oaks, beeches, etc and think in terms of something that will get up large enough to "show up" fairly quickly. So they opt for fast growing, showy trees rather than planting for the long haul which will produce something that really has presence and adds so very much to a landscape. Unfortunately I think that some of this thinking is because people here in the US move so often and of course plant (if they plant trees at all) for themselves thinking they will only be around for four or five years and want "their tree" to enjoy during their time in that location. I don't know how you can get around that situation.
Is it wrong of me to say that I am still missing Jack? In my mind's eye I am seeing him romping along these paths as Collette records her walk through the woodlands. I've always wondered what a Mayflower looked like. Now i know. Thanks. I appreciate the effort it takes to upload your videos. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished.

Collette you will find this funny....here in the US since the Spring its been headline news how some people have " discovered"ripping away their fine trimmed lawns and planting plants or wild flowers has changed their lives.....I have been referring Bealtaine Cottage for weeks now so they can see how it was done decades ago by One very smart woman. ❤
I love that wooden arch/arbor just out in the middle of the hazel/buttercup woods. So magical! We can't afford a house, so maybe... a couple of acres and a trailer home would be better, even in this tornado-filled area I live in.

Jack is there in every leaf, blade of grass and flower. He is eternal in his new form.

We just came back from a trip to Antrim and Roscommon counties in norther Michigan and I thought of our sister counties in Ireland.
