At 80, I am taking care of my husband who has dementia, and trying to survive on a tiny income. On days when I feel stuck you inspire me and reawaken my vigor and joy in my blessings.
Blessings to you Maggie xxx May good things come your way xxx
@@maggiemaloney8599 It is not easy, taking care of someone who struggles with dementia. Care givers need breaks too. I hope there is someone helping you in this journey. Take care of yourself. ❤️❤️❤️

You have shared what I consider to be the best advice possible, and that is to create our own happy environments.
I love nature too. If I didn’t have that I’d be so sad because I have chronic daily migraines and it makes life very difficult.
I relate. I'm trying youtube but the more I do, the less I feel like doing it. There's so much junk here. White noise. Nothingness. Distractions. I think what you doing is excellence @maryannknox7158

It's so calming and soothing to hear from you and to see your lovely home and land! Thank you, Colette! 💗
I love visiting your world, brings peace and contentment 😊
I have carved out my little indoor woodland in my little apartment here in Cincinnati Ohio. Lots of green plants, Christmas decorations and my sweet doggie, Teddie. He is a Corkie-half cocker spaniel, half Yorkie. He looks like Benjy! I’m determined to keep the “horrible, terrible “ far away from us!!
Little patsy will look beautiful in her new posh outfit !❤

Good afternoon Collette. I know I always say it but thank you again for a lovely video, they bring me a little lightness into my days and I understand where you’re coming from with what you said 🙏.
Love little girls new bed, it’s ideal for this weather , cosy but she can see out of it bless her. Her collar looks well smart too. Animals are a real comfort, they mean the world to me. I have a cat 🐱.
The woodland looks beautiful as ever no matter the weather there is always beauty to see. I do enjoy the walks around your garden .
Many blessing to you both 🌲🌲🌲.
Our beautiful four legged friends bring such joy into our lives! How wonderful it is that we are gifted such.
@ Absolutely 👍😻🐶
Awesomeness as always love 💗 ❤😊
I love Patsy’s little She Shed/dome 😊. A huge yes came to mind when you said Mothers Earth appreciates the woodland! I can hear her singing your praises. As always many blessings to you and yours! Thank you once again for sharing your incredible peace on earth. ❤️💕
It’s a pleasure to share xxx
What a wonderfully inspiring video Colette. Thank you so much. I loved seeing the winter garden and was struck by how beautifully deafening the bird song is. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that Bealtaine’s resident birds are singing for joy!😍
Also, how lovely for you to have known three of your four great-grandmothers. I never met any of mine and don’t even know the name of one of them, but the two I’ve heard most about both seem to have been strong farm women. In those days women were up against such a lot! One was called Harriet Pepper and I’m ridiculously proud that she came from Norfolk. Also, unlike her husband she could read and write so she did all the farm accounts as well as knowing how to read music and play the ‘American organ’ (whatever that is!). One of my paternal great grandmothers was a Londoner called Mary-Ann Sullivan and I’m sure she was of Irish stock which needless to say also pleases me! Her grandfather was Patrick Sullivan, a London blacksmith - now doesn’t that sound magical?
I think that getting to know our ancestors allows us to understand who we are and why we are such. All I know of my great grandmothers has been handed down to me in stories and anecdotes, photographs and memorabilia. Stories are powerful and here in Ireland they are almost sacred and kept true word for word. Of course one of the reasons for this is that the Celts never wrote anything done, because to write it down was to give away the power. Harriet sounds most interesting.
@ Yes, I imagine the Celtic oral tradition is a blessing as it keeps the stories not only alive but evolving a little with each generation. When I was younger I didn’t think to ask my parents more about their own ancestors and now sadly there’s really no one left who can sate my curiosity about them.
Thank you for the blessing! ❤ 🌎🌱🐿️🦝🐻🐾
Delightful video, Colette. Hugs and love to Patsy and you ❤
The beautiful light of Ireland and the green foliage….
I was compelled to comment on the kettle and the ticking clock - it invokes the essence of your land 😊❤
Happiness ❤❤❤
You have a precious little angel. Patsy is so cute. Your home is so cozy. You are so fortunate to have memories of your grandmothers. I don't have memories at all but have heard a few stories. (All had passed away before I came into the world). Yes, very strong women. We really are the sum total of our forefathers. So many times i see the same mannerisms in my distant cousins. Truly amazing. We just had Thanksgiving, Nov. 28 - we are experiencing some very cold days. Love the sound of yiur kettle. Blessings galore.
USA
Most of the memories I have were passed on to me by my grandparents and my parents. This is why stories and memories are so important and should be shared.
Good morning Colette! I love your videos. It makes me realize there are nice serene places left for people. As you probably know, America is in complete turmoil now. I never thought I would ever see our Constitution and our forefathers being so disrespected. Blessings to you that you are living where you are.
It’s important to create and maintain a safe and beautiful environment around you, even though it may only be in a small apartment.
Little Patsy does enjoy her comforts! Such a lively little pup. Thank you for sharing your woodland garden this early winter. It would have been hard wet work clearing out the drains to make it flow properly. Your poly-tunnel has seen many changes over these years. I remember being enchanted by the sight of it the first time I saw it on your videos. It had beautiful rock edged beds, flowers, herbs, a water (well?), a lattice with vines and a small fruit tree. both ends were open and the little birds sheltered there and flew merrily 8n and out! It was so very pretty! I think there was even a string of solar fairy lights in the grape vine! and a round table and chairs to enjoy a break with some coffee! It was so functional and so pretty, but time and necessity changes how spaces are used, and I appreciate the need for plenty of space to age the wood you depend on for warmth and cooking. I will listen to your new "ancestors" pod caste while I make some pasta sauce for our supper. Take care Collette. Sending a big hug from the chilly, snowy 🇨🇦 prairies! ❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️
Yes indeed there have been many changes in the tunnel and it is important as you say to keep up with the times we live in and allow a natural evolution to take place.
Oh, my !! Patsy looks like she’s in Paradise 🐶. The orchard is beautiful. So glad you’ve weathered Bert well. -V
Splendid sharing. You are indeed a Kindred Spirit. 💜 All ways enjoy and appreciate Being with you. 💜
Coffee at the garden center sounds heavenly. Enjoy your day and the sunshine💚
The birds singing is absolutely heavenly.
Hi Colette, Patsy is so cute in her cavebed 💗🐶 So nice to see blackbirds by your feeders, I miss them so much! I'm looking forward to seeing them again in spring. Much love and blessings, Giulia
It’s a beautiful patch of sanity in a crazy world👍🙏💐
I insulate it as much as possible!
I think you're a formidable woman yourself and look forward to hearing the stories of your great-grandmothers. It's lovely to walk the grounds of Bealtane with you. Thank you for sharing this. ❤
It’s always a pleasure to share!
Nice and cosy cave for Patsy 🐕🌝👍
I listened to your recent podcast about all your “Grans” and was totally captured by your stories, and I’m keen to hear more. Even without knowing we carry on from those before….in some way… Lovely to see you so relaxed in the cottage.🐇♥️
Happy to hear that you enjoyed the podcast. Thank you!
Hi Colette and Patsy, It is so good to see you again and the work you are doing at Bealtaine. It is a deeply grey, dark, wet day here in Shropshire, England, to the point I actually think I would appreciate a cave as well! I like the sound of imminent knitting arriving as and when. I love to see your projects. Your singing kettle reminded me of my own Gran. She had one that sat on her stove all day, humming quietly away. It isn't a sound you hear so often these days. Take care, Colette. Bright blessings to you and the wee girls. Debs X
Sounds emit energy and a whistling kettle emits an energy of comfort and peace.
So true.
Lovely to see Patsy settled in her lovely cosy new "den" and the wander around your woodlands and garden brought a breath of fresh air on this dark and wet Welsh afternoon.
I love how you seem to be able to transmit the peace and beautiful sounds of nature thorough your videos to us and I loved and appreciated your Blessing all those who love Mother Earth.
I do so LOVE history so I’m going to hightail it over to your website to listen to that podcast you mentioned! Sadly, I have never really known any of my family history past my mum and dad as they were all in Europe.
I only had one aunt, my father’s sister. I have hoped that one day I might go to their places and find out about them, it’s a dream I carry in my heart. Dad from Denmark (his family book goes back to the 1400’s but it’s all in old Danish and no one I’ve asked can translate it 😢
Mum came from Austria but her parents were from Hungary and Either Slovakia or the Czech Republic, I’m not sure which because they came out to Australia just a few short years before WW2. Back then it was still Czechoslovakia.
Anyway, thank you for sharing your lovely peaceful morning with us, it’s always such a joy to watch and listen to you. Blessings to you Colette and to Patsy ✨🌏❤️
You may not have known much of your family, but be sure your family knows you and you carry them forward.
Lovely video today, Colette. Patsy seems to be loving her new little cave. She's a lucky girl! Have a wonderful day. Take care. Blessings to you and Patsy. ❤
I always love your videos - it's like a visit to one of the loveliest places - so glad Miss Patsy is loving her new bed!
Thank you so much! 😊
Beautiful little Patsy in her new cave ❤
I’m sure in a few days it will be filled with fave toys treats etc bless watch this space! Lol 🇨🇦🐝👋🏻
Nothing like the sound of kettle whistling in a cozy kitchen! Hope you and Patsy are well! It was 16* F here this morning when I went out to feed everyone…thankfully no snow! Parts of upstate NY have had over 5 ft of snow and it’s still coming down. I find that your garden and woodland posts give me such a sense of peace when I watch them. Especially the sounds of the birds. Thank you so much for the joy you and sweet Patsy give me…🌲❄️🌲
You've created a blessed life Colette. I love your stove too btw.
Thank you for the lovely video!
Hi Colette, I love Patsy's bed, she will be very warm and cosy, I'm sure! Many blessings to you both ❤❤
So sweet, you bought her cute little cave.
You can see how much Patsy loves her Mum. So sweet to watch. Love your cosy world, looks like a wonderful blissful life in a mad world. I try to create my own little haven, away from all the craziness. Love, Light & Peace. 🌺❤ 🌸❤
Patsy is such a lucky dog.
Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you.🤗
Your home decorations and window box are lovely.
It is quite amazing what you can find out when you start researching female ancestors. One of mine, an army wife, lived in an early Australian penal colony and made the long voyage back to England with tiny twin daughters. Another, left a widow, struggled to survive in the notorious Hollybush area of London and finally died in the workhouse leaving a young orphaned son( my grandfather). A third had 13 children and only one survived to adulthood. The fourth took her family to England during the Irish famine, while her husband tried and failed to set up a new life for them in Canada. Finally, my grandmother followed her army husband to Palestine with four children, but went into early labour on the way and gave birth to my father in Egypt.
Such an amazing and intriguing story. It would be a wonderful thing to record all this for future generations.
@ I agree. I hadn’t really thought about just looking at the women until you talked about your own writing. Thankyou. I have found trying to research women so difficult. You need a marriage certificate to go back to a maiden name and most of the time women were not expected to be literate and signed with an x. Pre census info relies on parish records and having a priest who could actually spell the name. Not only could it be spelled many different ways, but the habit of using the same given name again if the first one died can be so confusing along with every extended family using the same names for most of their children. That said, I know that I have some amazingly strong female ancestors and will definitely do my best to record their stories.
Goodmorning from the Great Lakes of Michigan, US. We are snowbound, in our cosy cottage on the pond. So very happy and grateful to see your video today.
I have just bought an adorable 'cat chaise' for my chihuahua/terrier, as she can no longer leap onto my bed. I do hope she likes it 🥰

How lovely that you can garden this time of the year, it seems your weather is quite interesting, here on Vancouver Island we have the rains even though I live on the dry side of the island. Happy belated birthday Colette… your mantel is beautiful
Thank you, Pauline.
Wonderful to listen to you talk of your ancestors. Do write that book some day. Love Patsy's collar. The bed is so cozy too. Love the size of that puzzle!
I can tell you now, this is one hell of a difficult puzzle! I am laughing as I write this because I do love a difficult puzzle!
You are so skilled with both the camera and narration Colette thank you for sharing, so inspiring. I envy you your reminiscing of ancestors, my parents never talked of theirs and I only have faint memories of two grandmothers and a much loved uncle who remains in my thoughts forty plus years since his passing. Blessings to you and Patsy 🥰
I know how blessed I am to have these wonderful memories and feel the inspiration from such incredible women.
I'm just a few mins in so far but I absolutely love your decor ❤
LOl. My brain also goes, "bunggggggggggggggg" when trying to remember a specific thing. Ive taken to asking the ancestors to help me remember and it does seem to help! Here in Maine, always loving your insight, skills and practices. best 2 U! All ways.

@bealtainecottage Ditto dear friend 🩷💙💜💚🌱🎉✨️🙌🕊
Very nice to see you here, Collette. You have a wonderful garden, and being in your own space is very good for the soul. I am an allotment holder at the moment. However, I am now considering using part of my own garden to grow vegetables. I leave everything in wintertime to home any insects hibernating, so those plans will start in springtime. Plenty of time in winter to move my fruit plants and any perrenials whilst they are dormant. My own space to wander in and be joyful and not worry about the outside world
When I lived in London, I had several allotments over the course of time and absolutely loved working them.
❤ beautiful bird song 🎶

Today, I’m thinking about my youngest son who passed away 29 yrs ago today. Wondering who he . .would have been and how my life would be. So much grief to bear for a boy of 23.
I think it may be the saddest thing of all to lose a child. This sadness happens every minute of every day to someone in this troubled world at the moment. Life goes on in many bittersweet ways. We find comfort in the smallest things.
