    My dog came from Hurricane Harvey, she was rescued and one of the dogs flown to Washington State. We got her from Kitsap Humane Society, she is my soul dog. I am so lucky I have her and love her so much, thank you to whoever saved her.

    We were with our insurance company for over 20 years and they would not help us fix our house after Harvey. We switch companies that following year.

      What company to avoid it

    • @JuarezDerrick
      @JuarezDerrick ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@toxiccool6205 State farm. We also found out that same year that my girlfriend had got into a wreck before I met her with another driver and they both had State farm so the insurance company decided not to pay either of them. Both vehicles were totaled. Shitty company if you ask me and they are the number one insurance company in the United States.

    We were all one people when Harvey hit. Thank you Cajun Navy and to all who risked their lives to save their neighbor. This is who we are. By the grace of GOD we never gave up.

    I remember this! My dad had quite a few articles written about him because he saved people. I also remember walking up early after the storm finished and helping my parents and siblings make brisket sandwiches, we made a ton and passed them out to everyone in the neighbor hood. Me and my siblings were in the bed of the truck and we would just ask people if they wanted one and tossed it to them lol

    I got off work just as the first rain band came in. Everywhere was already flooded by the time I got into the car and was about to leave. The rain looked like large curtains extending into the skies. I couldn't see anything more than 10 feet in front of me. The scary part was when the road I went down when I turned around due to high water also was flooded. There was a break in the weather and I slowly drove back home. My family asked me about how it was out there I told them "It's already all flooded, the bayou is at it's tops, tomorrow will be life changing".

    Them insurance companies are a fucking joke. Quick to take your money. Slow AF to pay when you need to make a claim.

    As I remember clearly about that nightmarish event me and my family thought it was a joke until reality snaps the next morning, my whole neighborhood looked like the wrath of Poseidon it was scary but luckily my family and my neighbors escaped and we want to my grandma house for 3 days...suddenly myself and my whole family got sick with a mysterious lliness it lasted for 1 month.....as the days want by and started to look beautiful again I didn't want to go back' I was terrified still the most fucked up thing about Hurricane Harvey it gave me PTSD still too this day i have nightmares about it

    I was watching the McGregor vs Mayweather boxing match and one of our dogs came into our living room and had water on his paws. I thought he'd chewed through a pipe by the toilet because he did that as a puppy(Bullmastiff) but no... One of our bedrooms was flooding already. I lived in the SE part of Houston, right behind San Jac college and Memorial Hermann Hospital on Beamer Rd. Our neighborhood got 19 inches of rain that first night and it just kept getting worse. Very scary time.

    Get personal water tanks and store rain water

    • @kookiemonster3261
      @kookiemonster3261 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need to store rain water . Lake Houston supplies Houston water. So much water Ozarka spring water comes from Houston taps and doesn't make a dent in water level.

    So sad. My insurance company denied my claim, The city didn’t help me, famous people gave big money to my church but they didn’t help me ( because someone there lied to me), the GLO wanted to demolish my 2,639 square feet brick home because they said it would cost to much to repair. I am a divorced, retired, senior citizen and no bank will loan me money. 🤷🏻 What do I do, this was my dream home. 🥹
