Mark Meffan flood insurance is handled and provided by fema and the federal government, not solely private insurers.

    • @markmeffan4830

ya but i have seen many horror stories, in Louisiana and more recently in New Jersey, where the Insurance companies just refuse to pay. they always got loop hole and the bigger the disaster the more likely they default.

Mark Meffan yeah but private insurers pretty much dont even offer it themselves anymore because of the cost. its solely handled by fema at this point

    • @malistaire
      @malistaire 7 ปีที่แล้ว +82

Killerwaka11 The problem is that flood insurance is not offered with many basic plans unless your home is in flood district. So while a few people are covered, the vast majority of Houston's population is without flood insurance. Usually our biggest problem during storms has been wind related damage.

I'd like to think that all the racists and bigot's can grow a heart, kind of like the Grinch did. Most of my family lies in that category of racists and bigots. They have good hearts they're just ignorant puppets, they don't personally know any immigrants and they follow a Political party the encourages racism and bigotry.

I remember once when I was 12 years old, it was winter and I thought the nearby lake was frozen. I stepped in and almost drowned. I was hanging on to the side for life. Luckily a man who looked like he didn't have much was near and he saved my life.
Moral of my story is, be the guy who saved me. Donate/ pray or whatever you can to help people from our country. ❌⭕️❌⭕️ Best wishes from my family to all of the families involved

Guys, instead of blaming Trump & so forth..Idk how about we come together for the sake that these people need our thoughts, prayers & help. I hate y'all are making a joke of this. These people are leaving behind everything & that's funny. Cool, we Texans will think the same too huh?
I live relatively north of the flooding & I am without a doubt afraid. But with my faith in God I am sure he will calm his child throughout the storm.

Joshua Banks the only reason anything like this ever happens is because of all the sin in the world it can and it will get a lot worse so you should thank him that you weren't affected by this and yes everyone sins but it's the people who admit that they do are the people that will be saved.

You have to ask God for Help, you have to ask him into your heart willingly, that is why he said he gave us free will.Take a look at the constellation patterns in the sky, the ocean, the Grand Canyon, the birth of a new baby.Do you think man did this? Everyone must die, God gave his only son to die a horrible death so that we can choose to follow or not follow him but the Lord suffered and walks beside us if we let him.Life is not ment to be easy. Cain and Able. I am off my soapbox now.

Unfortunately many people didn't buy flood insurance because when they purchased their homes in areas like Sugarland and Missouri City they were told it wasn't in a flood plane. If I plan to buy a home in this area, I'm getting it no matter what the realtor, or builder says.

Praying for the people of texas. I know the feeling because i've been there. It's been 8 years when my city got devastated by flood with 700 deaths. It was called the great flood of manila and happened september 27, 2009. Our house has 2 storey floor and then we stayed on the roof cause the water keeps rising and almost half of our 2nd floor is flooded. We lost our tv, computer and etc. but I thank god that I didn't lost my family, my whole family are safe and got rescued. It will take time to rebuild but I assure you all can make it the same way as we do. Now, we are living normally again and that experience will never be forgotten.

Is anyone else bothered with idea of praying to God for saving them without understanding that you believe God saved you then he therefore has the final say in who exactly gets saved? That means that anyone who wasn't saved God decided not to save you regardless of whether or not you asked him to.. anyone else have that issue.?

Antwan Nester: Why did God send the hurricane? The believer might say it is His challenge to our endurance and capacity for compassion for one another as He suffered for us, while the hard core and dangerous others see it as punishment for our ill deeds. Those who think that way are the religious "high and mighty" self acclaimed Saints who hear the voice of God telling them to punish others.
They are the dangerous ones, and if it is a challenge to our capacity for compassion many in comments would fail.

When in an emergency your wallet and phone would be more important then family photos and sentimental items. Your wallet would have your ID and credit cards in which would be needed and your phone to communicate with family and friends. If it was me, I have so many sentimental items and photo albums the are preaches to me there would be no way I'd be able to get them out and stay alive at the same time, nor would they be a top priority. If it was me I'd properly forget my wallet and phone, my cat would be the first sentimental thing I would grab and not look back. Most people would rather have their loved ones safe and sound more then they would pictures.

No, it's because as Christians it's on their hearts to rescue other humans and help them with whatever they need. It has nothing to do with what God allows. This is why there are Baptist, Presbyterian and Methodist hospitals, but not single atheist hospital.
