Those water blasters on piranha are actually guest operated and are active in good weather. You can find the totems to do that on a path that runs from piranha’s exit to the back of Joris, great fun. And another little known fact; the dragon is actually a girl, she’s called Edna :) great vid guys
Edna got its name from Mount Etna (because of the fire, ye know). Even though Edna is indeed a female name and the dragon has eggs around it, the Efteling itself refers to it as a male. That would still make sense with the eggs, because with many lizards, the male is known to guard them, instead of the female.
Great to see you guys at Efteling again, welcome back! With Droomvlucht, apparently there was one of the gondola's (cars) that rolled back down a hill and bumped into another one but without too much incident (no one got hurt or anything, the bump supposedly wasn't too hard). That's apparently the problem that's keeping it closed at the moment. They open Vogelrok from time to time during maintenance as compensation. By the way fun fact (in case you did not know already), the guy with the stacks of pancakes in the final scene of Symbolica is Polle, the cook/owner of Polle's Keuken (the pancake restaurant across from Symbolica). There's a whole lore about all the characters linked to Pardoes!
Used to go here at least once a year as a child, so nostalgic to me! It’s been a fee years since i’ve been there but i can’t wait to go back! Your videos make me feel like i’m there for a bit, thank you for the amazing content!!❤
Charlotte it’s our favourite ride in the park too ! We absolutely love FataMorgana as well , we prefer it to any other dark ride , it’s a classic , but dream flight runs it a close second, shame it was down. . We adore Efteling ❤
Love this video, you are so well-informed about all the developments etc. As for Halloween, the Efteling has a policy of being ‘other-Wordly’: this means you won’t see any holiday-themed decorations in there. It’s part of the world-building. Christmas also doesn’t ‘exist’ in the Efteling, although you will see some snowy trees and presents in the Winter Efteling. But never Santa or Elves!
Thank you so much for all of your content. I live in North Yorkshire which is no where near any major parks and all your content and infectious joy allows me to experience these incredible attractions from afar. Thank you so much ❤️
41:43 I love the talking tree at Eftling, but my friends don't. They have had nightmares and phobias on the talking tree at Eftling. But we are Americans. Most Americans don't take the time to visit Eftling or they get very few American visitors, but there is no way I am going to the Netherlands without visiting Eftling. I love the dark rides there.
Regarding the financial difficulties at one of the sub-contractors for the construction of the Efteling Grand Hotel: they were actually declared bankrupt in September. I have heard however that a few days ago the company has been purchased by a different company and that activities will resume. I don't know how this will affect construction of the hotel. The construction sector in the Netherlands as a whole is going through difficult times at the moment, due to rising material costs and the fact the government has imposed very strict rules regarding the output of Nitrogen during construction. I work as an architectural drafter and even we have noticed work drying up due to uncertain conditions at our clients. It's actually a miracle the Efteling managed to get the permits to build both Danse Macabre and the Efteling Grand Hotel at the same time. I think it's due to the measures the park itself already takes to combat climate impact.
I like to see how much you enjoy the Efteling every time you visit it! I totally agree with you, it’s a great themepark! I live in Tilburg, a town near the Efteling, and I visit the Efteling as many times as I can!
Just rode every ride over the last few days, first time visiting and we're stopping on site and travel back home to the UK tomorrow. One of my favourite parks to have visited. Gutted to be leaving :(
Efteling definitely got to be done in 2024, might risk it in March. Take our time with a hotel stay too, loving the euro road trip - these parks are more realistic for us to do one day, hope you are having a great time still
Off to the Netherlands with the family on Wednesday and doing two days at Efteling (one night in hotel). Been really helpful to watch your vlog so thanks for all the info. Also heading to Phantasialand for a day and can't wait for that either!
I love Efteling...been taking my kids there since they were little...now 24 and 29. Will hopefully be taking my grandchildren there at some point when I get them 😊
We were there for two days last week and Symbolica went down in the morning of our first day and didn't reopen while we were there - so whatever is broken, that's when it broke. A real shame to miss it - but Droomvlucht is our favourite and we got on that so we were chill about it...

Of all the bucket list parks I would like to visit one day, Efteling is definitely up there, probably top 2, losing out to Europa Patk for me, only cause I’m more of a thrill seeker, though Efteling has some great coasters. Also, 29:57 is Symbolica loosely based on that one Pardoes TV show from 2011 (How’s that for an obscure reference?) or is it something original?

Hi Shaw and Charlotte, The reason why a number of Fatasie paddlers did not ride on the track at Symbolica is as follows. The safety bars of the treasure tour opened during the ride. Apparently that was a difficult job and took a while. And Dreamvflight did not run because 2 ride vehicles collided. Fortunately no one was injured. Have a great trip guys!!!👍
Efterling's Python is pretty much a less compact version of Alton Towers' defunct Corkscrew (and it's been given the Nemesis Reborn treatment fairly recently).

Excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from Efteling in The Netherlands! In this vlog, we experience many of our favorite rides at the park and take you along with on-ride POVs. This includes Baron 1898, Symbolica, Python, and many more fantastic attractions. We also check out the latest construction taking place on Danse Macabre, the new dark ride opening in 2024. Did you ever hear it being pronounced by a Dutch person?
Just curious how the last three letters go silent when some Brits try

But I wasn’t lucky at all in regards to waiting times… the park was packed and the queue to Symbolica was over 60min the entire day! 😢😢
