There's no amount of money I wouldn't give to be able to experience Efteling for the first time again 🥲 It's absolutely magical & restored this cynical Brit's belief that theme parks can be run beautifully 🥹🥹🥹 Going again for my 40th in February ❤
I love disneyland paris but the autenticity of efteling and the feeling of walking in a peacefull forest with all the fairytales is so amazing and the atmosphere. Love efteling
I am always quite critical, but yesterday I was at Danse Macabre, short review: In the old Spookslot more happened behind the glass, such as moving skulls, hanging corpse that dangles up and down, hands that come out of the sand, graves that go up and down moving, 2 coffins opening, monks walking slowly past. However, in this new Danse Macabre many old acquaintances return, plus the ride experience is so beautiful, which ultimately makes this updated version more satisfying than the old Spookslot. The music has been shortened, but now sounds much more powerful, louder, clearer. And they have mixed the most beautiful pieces together well. And then I haven't even mentioned the queue outside. Herb garden, cemetery and woodland are really beautifully created. So Efteling, compliments again!!!
Something about the newly arranged music does feel a bit more grand. And at times, a bit more evil, I suppose. I guess choirs tend to help with that. I think it suits the attraction well.
Fun fact: OJ Punctuel (the one with the paper roll @14.40 in Symbolica) is voiced (and also performed in the making off) by the designer of Danse Macabre. He also plays the pianist at the sign next to Danse Macabre.
My favourite efteling character is "O.J Punctuel" he's the lakey in symbolica that tries to stop Pardoes. He's actually played by one of the designers of the efteling attractions 😊 he's really funny. A very talented actor.
Fata Morgana is my partner's favourite ride. (He's Dutch) I visited Efteling for the first time in August this year and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to leave gloomy Manchester and go back!
Wow efteling looks amazing! Definitely a destination park at this point. Coasters may be the kings of the Midway, but good dark rides really create the theme park experience. Love everything I've seen of this park! Also, I love that they spent the money to retrack python instead of just demolishing it. I wish more parks would do that with their older Arrow coasters. Can't tell you how much I miss great American scream machine at 6 flags great adventure.
I do see quite a few similarities between the parks (though I’ve never been to Alton Towers). One had the dive coaster prototype and then the other followed. One had the madhouse prototype and then the other got their own spin on it. Both of course have woodies. I’ve seen people that are excited about Danse Macabre wanting Alton Towers to get a Dynamic Motion Stage of their own. And honestly, when I look at what new coaster types Efteling could get in the coming years, something in a similar boat to Th13teen (with these new special track pieces from planet coaster 2 :)). Efteling could use a launch, something spinning/rotating or something under/to the side of the track. A Flying coaster could be cool, but F.L.Y. is quite nearby. Toverland and Plopsaland have Spinning coasters (though there are different kind of spinning/rotating coasters Efteling could choose for). I don’t know of a nearby (and thus probably rivalling) park that has something like Th13teen. It would be suitable for a dark ride coaster hybrid. Plus, a family-thrill ride. Plus, there was this scrapped idea for Grand Circus Balancé, which would’ve had a lift hill and a launch. And this ‘Balancing Act’ that I don’t know if it’s built in real life, but it is a special track piece in planet coaster 2. So it is certain this type of coaster is taken into consideration by park management.
6:40 Hugo is talking about the Postel Abbey, which is just over the border in Belgium. To celebrate a friend getting his driver’s license, we visited that abbey. It was really nice.
Love you guys. We watch your videos each night routeenly. Thankyou for taking your time everyday to post and make videos for us, i know its time consuming. We watch both your channels. You are both so appreciated. Thankyou 💖
For me, it’s interesting how theme parks suddenly become creepy when there are no visitors. The end of this vlog was creepier than anything I saw during the Halloween vlogs. And I think this park is beautiful. I’ve felt that way when I watched other vlogs and the park was light on guest.
I think the entrance at the hotel is the same site where the original entrance to the park was, before the new building was there! The area around carnaval festival has such an eighties vibe, I remember visiting in the late eighties and entering the park there. The gondolettas used to have all kinds of flower gardens around the lake then but they changed it to more natural looking greenery!
Would love to experience each and every venue, ride, and interactive, opportunity available. Sadly, it'll never become a reality. To see some of the aforementioned throughout yourselves, priceless. X
Great video Shawn and Charlotte from Efteling in The Netherlands! This fantastic theme park is home to a wide variety of awesome attractions. keep the good videos coming on the channel, Shawn and Charlotte. 😃😀
It's my dream trip to go here.. I'm here in America so more than likely won't happen 😢 thanks for taking me along ❤. First time watching your channel btw.✌️❤️
Its designed by Tom van de Ven, the lead creative guy between 1978 and 2003. He followed the legendary Anton Pieck who laid all the groundwork for the Efteling and was the creative mind behind the fantasy theme in the park. These creative directors always had complete control over the park since they basically had unlimited freedom to do what they want. The Efteling is and was never owned by a corporation and never had any commercial motive other than the succes of the park itself. For that reason alone the park is completely unique in the world as it really is one complete immersive experience from start to finish.
Bumped into you guys just as you were leaving the park on last day by the exit gates! Keep up the fantastic work, love the videos and helps so much with next destination! 😊
I’m from the U.S. and I finally made it to Efteling this past May. Loved it! Your vlogs are amazing and have inspired me to add so many places to my itineraries!
Fabulous vlog as always guys !! We visited efteling in 2019 and really enjoyed droomvlucht(Dream flight) We had a really cool experience as the ride broke down on the upper level so all of the lights came on and we got to see all of the details we all had to vacate the ride ,climb over the flowers and figures and go through a door at the back and climb down the fire escape metal ladder lol It was certainly an adventure 🤗🥰 xx
10:38 I couldn’t really imagine Efteling doing a lot with Halloween either. But, in the winter, there are some illusions. I’m not sure if they’re still there. The most prominent one is/was on the outside of Villa Volta. But the Flying Dutchman and Spookslot had them as well. I think little shows like that from mid October to early/mid November would work well on the rides that have haunted/cursed themes (Villa Volta, Vliegende Hollander, Baron 1898 and Danse Macabre). But, I agree. Scare mazes and pumpkins wouldn’t suit the park. And I’m glad they opt out of doing that. Efteling’s style of scary isn’t jumpscares, but creating these unsettling, yet intriguing environments and feelings.
With Aquanura, they took the fire out, because Efteling wants to be eco-neutral. The lanterns above the frogs are called "Beakens of Light" and will provide additional effects to replace the fire. Efteling Symphony 1 and 2 will be shelved, a new Efteling Symphony 3 will be released when Aquanura reopens.Which was needed to take the old Mr. Cannibale soundtrack out I imagine.
Aquanura is from 2012, so I hope they’ll add music from rides that opened post 2012. Baron 1898. Symbolica. Max & Moritz. Danse Macabre was already part of the first symphony, but it probably would be tweaked to suit the new arrangement. There was this one time I entered the park and stepped on the Pardoes Promenade and Aquanura was playing at daytime. The Villa Volta segment of the 1st symphony was playing and that was really epic to have in the background when you’re walking to the first attraction, with the entire day still ahead of you.
Would love to go here hopefully one day I will! Brilliant vlog as usual guys, and good to see Charlotte back, am thinking there’s more to your absence and aversion to big rides though….👶🏼👶🏼?? Xx
hahaha I love the pronounciation of Baron, like a drunk german. Which is quite close to dutch, so good job :D As always love the enthousiasm of you guys! Great video
So much fun to see you two enjoy Efteling, which is 45 minutes from where I live. I was wondering; Have you ever had a chance to visit "Caro" at the Efteling Theater?
oh my gosh me and my dad were looking at this theme park and my dad asked “check is the theme park guys have the video” I was like I don't think they will 😂, I was shocked when I saw u went 5 days ago!! We now watching jt, hope you had an amazing day 😊😊
I'd love to see an updated video on your top parks around the World now you've added some new ones. Maybe that could be a Christmas vlog seeing as most of the parks will be closed that time. I haven't been to Efteiling yet but it looks very well themed.
Winter-Efteling is a whole thing here in The Netherlands. You have Efteling and Winter-Efteling. It's the same themepark. But in a way it is completly different
We were in Efteling last week and we loved the rides, above all Droomvlught, symbolica and the flying dutch. We really enjoyed the mist effects and smells in many attractions there. And Sirocco is way better than teacups
You actually missed a new house in the Laaf village (the place with the snail monorail)! It's visible at 11:20. This used to be a small bar that sold beer and lemonade. It opened with the rest of the area in 1990 and closed in 2003 due to low popularity. Since august this year it is open again, this time as a small display thing similar to other Laaf houses. You should check it out next time you're here :p
That first ride is better than Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! I’d love to see more parks retrack their classic steel coasters like Arrows rather than scrap them. Unfortunately, too many of the old MegaLoopers are already gone.
I saw you two while you were walking on the pardoes promenade. I was standing in line for Danse Macabre and thus didn't get the chance to say hi! so Hi!
I can’t wait to experience Effteling! My family was booked to go 2020 with my late father in law (he was Dutch) but the pandemic put an end to the booking and he never went back to the Netherlands before he passed!
The story behind Villa Volta is truly captivating, based on the real life bandits known as the “bokkenrijders,” or “goat riders” in plain English. I live near a monument that commemorates the site of a gallows from the mid 1700s, where several goat riders were executed (by hanging) for their crimes. This makes the story of Villa Volta feel even more authentic and intriguing for some reason!
Those lanterns at Aquanura are being put in, because they're getting rid of the fire effects, and these lanterns will add additional light effects to compensate. They're getting rid of the fire effects as part of a big push to get Efteling carbon neutral by 2030. So it's a bit of a shame we'll have to miss the fire from now on, but it's also a good thing they're doing their part for the environment.
The whale on Symbolica isn’t fixed entirely. It used to dive down, instead of statically being lowered as it is now. Still, for now, it’s good enough. I can imagine animatronics like that being a headache. I mean, Edna (the dragon from Joris en de Draak) hasn’t been breathing fire and slamming her tail in the water for years. I wish I could have ridden the coaster when she still did. I’m glad she’s mostly been refurbished and that some small movements are back. But it’s sad that we’re probably never going back to her ‘glory days’. It was a really ambitious animatronic. And it shows. It’d be really expensive to undergo a refurbishment that would make her move again like she used to.
I think the only thing the park is missing is a really stand out coaster. Something like Taron. Then again, Efteling is about so much more than the coasters. In terms of theming, dark rides and general atmosphere, it's the best park in the world. Dream Flight is my favourite ride in the world.
I visited the park for the first time a few days ago and loved it. It’s been the park of me dreams and I’m so glad I got to go. However I wasn’t able to visit the fairytale forest or go on a few rides I wanted to do. Oh well, more reason to visit in the future 😂
Love all the vlogs on the channel. Would love to hear your thoughts regarding the upcoming release of Planets Coaster 2 and if you have any plans of maybe doing a series come wintertime in the theme park off season.
Efteling is an absolutely amazing theme park to check out! This place looks very stunning and their new attraction, Danse Macabre, is just SO cool and spooky! Love this vlog!! 🤩🤩🤩😍😍😎😎😎🦄🧚🧚♀️🧚♂️🐉🪄👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It really is a beautiful place!
I'm going for the first time soon. I'm excited.
You don’t mind me asking, how do you get tickets for February 2025? I can’t seem to find anything for next year!
I love disneyland paris but the autenticity of efteling and the feeling of walking in a peacefull forest with all the fairytales is so amazing and the atmosphere. Love efteling

Only 35 million Euros for Symbolica? That's such a bargain, when you consider that Man Utd paid 95 million Euros for Anthony.
Thought i could forget about United on a theme park channel, obviously not 🤣
It was a good deal from an Ajax fan’s perspective. But then the club chose to be clumsy with its money…
Thank you both for taking the time to chat with our son yesterday. You made his first trip to Efteling extra special 🫶
It was great to see you! Thanks for your support 😄
Oyy oyyyyyy!!
Shawn you put the sun in Efteling and Charlotte is our moon.
Best TH-cam channel of 2024 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
What an absolute stunning park. Looks like a perfect park for the entire family.
It is
Amazing!
Families are definitely the target audience. There’s plenty to be seen and done for everybody.
Even just watching dream flight makes me cry nevermind experiencing it. It’s absolutely stunning
It's even better IRL
It’s beautiful
I rate Efteling higher than Disneyland. The atmosphere is so good and the park is so beautuful.

Now, if Alton Towers Resort was on par with Efteling, I bet that park guests will absolutely love it to bits!
It’s beautiful
Agreed! It would be a perfect match but unfortunately they've never taken theming as seriously.

Would love to see another major coaster!
Efteling vlog whoohooooo 🎉
I visited the park for the first time a few days ago and loved it. It’s been the park of me dreams and I’m so glad I got to go. However I wasn’t able to visit the fairytale forest or go on a few rides I wanted to do. Oh well, more reason to visit in the future 😂
It’s a beautiful park
The tower on the right at the symbolica castle looks like a surprised Minion.
Once you see it you can't unsee it 😂

Love all the vlogs on the channel. Would love to hear your thoughts regarding the upcoming release of Planets Coaster 2 and if you have any plans of maybe doing a series come wintertime in the theme park off season.
Thank you, they’ll be a new series on the way!
