- The fantastic little video is of the 2023 Atkinson Gathering at Sandtoft Doncaster. The video contains the sites and sounds of a true British classic lorry, from Gardner powered, to Cummins ad Rolls Royce there is something for all.

5:40 - This beast sounds particularly impressive - I could listen to that all day! Great video. 👍
I could watch and listen to these beautiful trucks all day. Thanks. Just wish I owned one
Impressive soundtrack with those engines, plus you can't beat the sound of a good gear change.
My favourite classic lorry. Just love the Atki.
This video brought back some lovely memories of me sat as a kid with my dad driving around the country on general haulage just the sound of the engine is magical no frills you felt every bump in the road. Thank you 😊😊
Just lovely Mr B, keep at it.
Was a brilliant weekend with fantastic friends Richard i really enjoyed it, another quality video, i have watched it 3 times up to now lol
Absolutely beautiful trucks Russell of Bathgate built their business with these amazing trucks.
Give me a cummins powered Atki any day of the week. I drove them. 1st Atki was a 180 Gardner then had a 205 cummins then had a 250 cummins. I loved the 250
I've watched this video a time or two now, I'd forgotten how little steering lock them old girls had compared to today's motors. You've produced an excellent video. I just hope I can visit next year.
Love seeing these old wagons, as a kid of about 10 me and a mate used to sit on an overhead bridge as lorries came out of a quarry and just watch them. That would have been 1979 ish….
Them engines shakes your soul Mr.B
Very nice, I've realy enjoyed watching that.
Great video and I see the yellow twin axle Atkinson back on home ground (It was based in Scunthorpe in the 90's and painted green).I know Keadby Bridge as I used to work as a Welder at Sandtoft in the late 1980's and then used to go to an Amateur Radio Club next to the museum over 20 years ago, I think it is still there.I just wish I knew you were there.....Dave
Some absolute beauties there ! 😃
Super footage Richard and im sorry i couldn't be there...
Some great footage there Richard. A very good turnout too. Thanks for the mention. Was great being in the passenger seat of Lawrence Buxton’s other 8 wheeler professionally piloted by Andrew Turner. Thanks for taking the time to edit this video and to all those that contributed their clips and footage. 👍
Nice to see the beast today mr b.Andy is a fellow family member and I got to see that grey fergie he had almost bought it..
Had a fantastic time doing it. Was a pleasure
Thx for showing this here are some photos of goodbye to Atkinson photos sent to me via 5th wheel lorry club in 1983 now how do i add the photo's 18:04
No problem. I enjoy doing the video’s. I am not so sure how you could send them. I will have a think. Thank you.
On the off chance of anyone watching this video I’m looking for some pictures of Morfa Transport of South Wales Atkinson’s . Please leave a reply if anyone can help . Thanks.
Magnificent!
There’s a former Australian Atkinson in this video - the red and white one with registration KWN45L. The cab on KWN45L was built by a Australian company now long gone called Reinforced Plastics - Reinforced Plastics was based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
They sure did. It’s my own wagon.
I worked at Seddon Atkinson in Clayton Vic Australia and later drove a Kingcab Atkinson for a living
They do look and sound well, loaded as well. Are there any more road runs this summer?
If a colonial cousin wanted to attend this show, what time of year would he need to cross the pond? Is there a specific time and place each year? I have a small obsession with Atkinson/ Seddon Atkinson lorries.
Cheers
It will be happening on Saturday the 13th of July and also on the Sunday. There is a unorganised run out on the Saturday around 12pm.
Excellent work Mr B, why's there a bloke standing in a bramble patch @ 3m 05s? 😂
Haha. He is a committed man to the job.
Really enjoyed this thank you, shame about the trans pennine being cancelled as its the highlight of the year😢
