I live in Santa Monica and I spent 3 months in Arizona (prior to covid) to film for my channels and I went crazy thrift shopping. I think on my craziest day I hit up 6 thrift shops in one day. I found lots of baskets for my basket walls, planters and tea cups. Thank you for sharing your haul!
I'm from New Mexico, and I always forget how beautiful our sunsets and sunrises are because I am just used to them, but then I leave for a while, and when I come back to New Mexico I realize we have the prettiest skies lol there are a few good thrift stores in Albuquerque if you ever drive back through here.
your bags of wool are great for felting projects. It was a very good fine as that type of wool can be very expensive. Use the felting wool to make felt pictures, wool-covered soaps, and Christmas ornaments. Felting is easy and you would love it
The thicker "yarn" you found is felting wool. You got it for a great price. You can welt felt with it or you can dry felt things with it. You should look felting up on TH-cam.

The 'special' wool is called wool roving; it is great for felting projects and doll hair. I buy it in large quantities by the pound and spin it into yarn on my spinning wheel. Very relaxing; relieves stress because you have to keep the wheel at a steady pace in order to get the right twist. If you slow down your breathing to match the pace of the wheel you can feel the tension leave your body.
I live in Illinois, and once a year my family and I drive 19 hours straight to go to New Mexico to visit family who live there. So I can totally relate!
I am absolutely in love with the vintage frames you found. We are in the process of buying a home in Riverside and those are the ones I've been looking for, for my daughters room. I did find an amazing gold vintage mirror for $7 for over her changing table.
I used to use a calculator like that in my parent’s store. You can spin the roving yarn(the wool in the plastic bags) if you had a spindle. I would not have take 18 hours to get home if there were lots of thrift stores in all the big cities I passed thru, it would have taken me days to get home. I loved all the yarn best. You should ALWAYS wear a mask in stores, clerks are humans too and they have to wear a mask for your safety, and you could contaminate something through saliva or someone else could previously have done it if they were so uncareful, stay safe
Right - masks don't protect you, they protect other people! Even if not through droplets/saliva, you may have spread aerosolized virus particles (I mean obviously you likely didn't, since this was months ago at this point, but the point stands). Please ALWAYS wear a mask in indoor public places!!
