Hey Ramar! Thanks for the great question. I almost included a whole section about the research on this! The MS society takes a position that roughly 1 in 10 people with MS associated pain or spasticity might benefit from cannabis treatment when other medications have failed....but smoking cannabis, especially if mixed with tobacco is harmful to the health of people with MS. Similar to the research on pain, anecdotally there are people who say it helps them. Whilst great for that individual if their symptoms are relieved, this is likely to be the placebo effect as the blinded studies don't show this to be a clear effect of cannabis. I have a family member with progressive MS. It can help anecdotally for some ms patients but their cognitive function takes a hit a study showed. It’s a give and take and if someone uses after they discuss with their doc it should be used at the absolute minimum effective dose.
