That other woman is Christine McVie. She was married to John McVie, the bass player. The drummer is Mick Fleetwood. The name Fleetwood Mac comes from the names of John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. When this concert was filmed, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham had just joined the group and FM was about to become mega-famous.
The Midnight Special was a televised live music show that was on every Friday night at midnight in the 70s. They had so many talented bands and artists on it, all big names and very popular, and there were countless iconic performances. I remember watching it religiously as a teenager and have very fond memories of it.
I had so many babysitting jobs And if I knew Saturday special was on I would accept! I will never forget this performance! I a So remember performance of Prince! Who would have thought back then those to would be intertwined!
Glad you enjoyed! Stevie was 27 here, and yes, there was drug usage amongst them. Stevie had an especially serious habit for about 15 years. I would suggest a reaction to their "Rumours" album. It's legendary 🙂 Probably the best breakup album ever, and ironic in the fact that the two main songwriters were singing about breaking up with each other.
Holy cow you don't know Christine McVie!! She wrote some of FMs biggest hits! Don't Stop, Everywhere, Over My Head, You Made Loving Fun, SONGBIRD. She also has an Incredible voice too. Please listen.
She was beyond wasted during this performance, good catch. Christine McVie. was the keyboard player, Lindsey Buckingham on Guitar, John McVie on Bass, Mick Fleetwood on Drums. Stevie was 28.
I'm so happy you both looked in on this performance. I laid it down on another comment just an hour ago. The Midnight Special & Don Kirshnir's Rock Concert every weekend. Some of the finest performances ever recorded. We had it all, American Band Stand, Soul Train & Solid Gold to name a few others. Great Reactions. You both might like "Sara" Live circa 70's. That is about a baby never born and an affair that Mick Fleetwood would end up marrying "Sara" Some of the greatest tunes and albums came from so much emotions from each member. It is well done also. Peace
This was Fleetwood Mac before the mega album Rumours came out. This was off the first album after Lindsey and Stevie joined the band. This was the world being introduced to Stevie Nicks.
The difference between the studio version and this performance is like the difference between seeing a picture of fresh out of the oven bread and the real thing.
This is from the 70s. I was born at the very end of the 79. I remember how I begged my mother´s coworkers to to record for me their tapes of Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush or The Chieftains for me (they did). While I was asking the mother of one of my schoolmates to do the same with those of Queen, Metallica, Gun's and Roses, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin... And to my sister's nanny (almost 9 years younger), those of Roxette and Mecano (spanish group). I was 10 years old or so. It was rather formative. XD
Their Album Rumours has been in the top 100 UK albums for 960 weeks, presently at number 31, I prefer the studio version to this live one. You said "was people sitting for that" so funny seeing that now, I remember when you could only sit at concerts, venues only had seating in the 60s/70s at least in the UK, I have managed to get tickets to see Harry next year and am standing right at the front, only hope my legs hold out🤣🤣if they don't I will watch from the floor.
The studio was before drugs while this was on them, lol! But both versions are outstanding, Christine (Perfect) McVie was the keyboardist. I do not think Stevie actually blinked, lol!
As legend has it after Bob Welsh left the band they wanted to hire Lindsey Buckingham as the lead guitarist but he refused to join the band unless his girl friend could join as well so they hired the pair for $200 a week... The cut u played was part of a three song set on Midnight Special in April 1976 so that why the quality is so good. The earliest version Ive seen is on Reeling In The Years from late 1975 where Christie McVie has to actually introduce Nicks and Buckingham to the audience following the song because no one knew who they were.
I started watching you react to some of my favorite music growing up! Then one of you offended an entire generation that to this day loves and cherishes John Lennon! This man gave us some of the greatest music ever and a lot of your favorite songs may never have been written if it were not for the Beatles influence! What have you guys contributed to humanity?
Gentleman. I'm a huge fan of her first and foremost. I'm listening to music since 1958 this is one of the greatest performances ever in my opinion. I surely hope Stevie and Lindsey Buckingham reunite in a professional manner.
Imagine is one of the best songs ever. You were talking about really listening to a song obviously you’re not listening to the words of imagine it’s beautiful.
ok. studio are multiple takes on probably 24-track recording TASCAM. That one chorus line does not have enough to overtake this entire performance. Very rarely can recorded voice be duplicated in live performances. Only Phil Collins comes to mind who could do it into the 2000s. So I gotta disagree with that opinion. The Grateful Dead albums have perfect pitch and vocals. But you would have to poll 1 million fans to get 1 vote for "I like the albums better". It just doesn't happen. Even reviews by other artists that have been to Grateful Dead concerts will say live is better. Frankly, why would I pay $100 to hear the freaking album versions? Music should be in the moment when live. Magic happens. I have seen hundreds of bands from 1978 to 2005 live and there is not one band where I would say "I like the studio version better than a live show". I know when I was younger and I played sax doing Coltrane songs in a studio then live, I had much better live solos than studio 16-track recordings. Just my opinion.

Rhiannon is about a witch. Sad but true. ALL practicing witches are damned to hell.🔴

this band is pure rock n roll ... !!!

Can't wait to watch you guys explore more Fleetwood Mac in the future! So many iconic songs and a ridiculous amount of talent!
Rumours is THE album to review 👍
She was into heavy cocaine addiction when this was recorded. Along with the entire tusk album they all were into one addiction or the other
Think of Boob Tube as a synonym for Idiot Box which was also a term for thrown around for TV.
No, the Studio version is way way tamer than these live performances of Rhiannon.
The difference between the studio version and this performance is like the difference between seeing a picture of fresh out of the oven bread and the real thing.
Burt Sugarman don't fuck around.

Celebrate her solo career with Waddy Wachtel
Edge of seventeen live version! You have to
R.i.p Christine McVie.
She was 27 at the time of this performance.

Kneel before Zod, maroons

This is their 19th Studio album but not with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. They only joined the band in 1975.

OK, after that intro you need to listen to Joe Walsh doing ILBTS.
I think Stevie was 28 if this was live in 76

CHRISTINE MC VIE another rock Goddess! Watch the 'official video' version..

The song sounds faster cause they were COKED out😊
Noice
The weirdo drummer is fleetwood.
I think he, and John mcvie started this blues band in 1911. See Peter green.
"in 1911"
Wow, they took a really long time to catch on .... ;-)
@@fewwiggle 🤣🤣
Mick Fleetwood also had a habit of humming while drumming.
If you listen during the first verses of the song you can hear it.
Imagine is one of the best songs ever. You were talking about really listening to a song obviously you’re not listening to the words of imagine it’s beautiful.
? What’s obvious? Sorry I’m confused
Watch her do Sisters Of The Moon live.
Try Sisters of the Moon live from Mirage tour. Great McVie base & Stevie goes crazy. LB also bashes her with his guitar.

Again you watched the wrong video.
Talk to the patron who paid for it. Not us
You guys ruin the song talking over Stevie screaming.
Ok. Song is forever ruined
