- Would you have the courage to walk right into the middle of a mass of swarming, fighting bees?
When Bundaberg bee keeper Kai Gerschau went to check on his native bee hives this week he was faced with an unusual scene - a massive rolling black cloud of the insects surrounding four of his hives.
He thought they might be mating, but a quick look at the carnage soon revealed it wasn't love - it was war.
Kallee Buchanan braved the swarm to take a closer look. Luckily these are sting-less native bees Tetragonula hockingsi.

thanks for the informative video about bee swarms...I like your video.
How do you know the ones who win will produce superior honey? It just means they're better at fighting other bees.
These are native bees, not kept for the honey usually as they don’t make very much.
Dont put too close to prevent cerana bees fight each other. Give a distance about 2 meters from one to other hive.
just responding to this for the benefit of others stumbling across the comments; The bees in question are Tetragonula hockingsi. I would theorize that the invading bees may be a different species of Tetragonula as thats the most common cause of war.
Когда пчелиная война 2???
