I remember my mom buying me this game at gamestop because you had to have someone older than 18 to purchase mature title, I didn’t even make it past the first level because I was expecting it to be as fun as a GTA game so I ended up giving it away 😂
Man back then we expected every hood game to be exactly like GTA. I remember when 50cent bullet proof came out I imagined it to be another San Andreas but with 50 as the main character, I couldn't have been more wrong. It was still an enjoyable game but far from GTA.
@MrHammers this was one of the most forward thinking games of it's time. I played it a ton. I haven't watched your video yet but they had a Clan System with registered names and a way to link up and compete. Which back then was unheard of out side of Halo 2. It also had a violent multiplayer with almost limitless customization options and a great Cops v Robbers setting. I vividly remember blowing heads off with a .44 magnum and then kindly arresting the headless corpse. Plus the sound track was off the chain. You could even play as Tech N9ne. Thanks for making a video on this one... Now its time to sit back and soak it in.
Ditto when the PS3 started getting phased out I got every PS3 game I ever wanted. Except now it's hard to play it cause they don't make dualshock 3s anymore and the used ones are jank as heck.

One thing that needs to be mentioned on a lot of these urban setting games is the soundtrack. Before streaming services and the internet (for me atleast) these games were a way to access music you didn’t have and a way to discover new artists. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition was one of those games I would play for just the soundtrack. This one had solid music too.

When i was in junior high school, their wallpaper was the coolest picture that i ever seen, i used my friends printer to print it and put it on my bedroom but i never knew what game is this and i never hoping to playing that, my family too poor for a console And now thanks to you i know this game, thank you so much
I only found out about this game as a kid because it became one of those newest flavors of the month for the “video games are bad” crowd. One of my teachers made my class read an article about violent video games and for some reason, this game was the main target of it. It was pretty much the general consensus of my class that we all never even knew what this game was, so the whole “lesson” felt counterproductive and useless lol
This game looks sick, constant action, it got level design both interiors and outeriors filled with life, and a cool story. Sometimes finding these types of games with quality in them are rare.

Somehow when I was 13-14 this was one of my favourite games alongside with Crime Life:Gang Wars. The soundtracks for hiphopheads is amazing. At the time I didn't care about the gameplay at all, just kill everybody to bangers.
I never played this game but it's fun to hear what it's really about because my friend is 2nd grade was telling me all about how it was essentially a real life gang member / cop simulator lmao

@Zenman Alex yeah there was alot of strategy and tricks. The online maps (most of them) we're well balanced for snipers and run n gunners on both teams. The mall and Mexico was my favorite map. Also the gang ranking system was unmatched till this day and the player rakning was one of my favorites in any game

My 4 star was for 1v1s and my 2 star was for everything else. I lost interest in the game when my friend who was a hardcore try hard got jealous of my skills and he started beefing with the guys in my clan so he logged into my account to ruin our stats and boost his with free kills and my own klan booted me. I didn't haver web at the time and I used to play at his house. After he did me bogus like that I just didn't want to play anymore.

I played this game a lot as a kid (even when some missions couls be quite really hard, especially the one where you rob the bank) and can still remember of frustated I got because I was able to unlock almost all the customization clothes and outfits...but I was unable to use or even see them because my xbox didn't had internet connection, so I ended up wasting my time unlocking stuff just for nothing...although I can also remember feeling quite proud of myself when I managed to beat the survival mode.

Check the Crime Life Gang Wars. That one is a little bit more interesting. You have a semi-open world, huge gang-on-gang fights, and lots of dope music too. It's kinda shitty, but not to the extent of this game lmao.
I remember always having this game, seeing the case and never being able to play it because it was scratched up. I would just sit wondering how badass it was . Then we would turn on GTA SA and do co-op on that. Man am i glad that it wasn't the other way around 😂
Multiplayer was sick honestly... until EVERYONE learned how to glitch out of the map and shoot people from hidden spots. That's what ultimately killed it. Single player was always trash tho 😂
Those of us old enough to remember realize that this game was a product of its environment. In the mid 2000s, gangster stuff, baggy clothes, going to the mall and rap would be blasting on most stores. So is no surprise they made this game. I also find it funny how the developers took a few generic names that were popular at the time and gave them to the characters. For example Calderon, in 2006 Calderon was a popular Latino gangsta rapper
Bro, I got this as a freshman in high school and loved it! The multi-player where you can start your own gang and fight other gangs 😂 pure gold. If I were to play this 17 years later though... doesn't hold up.
As a kid I tried to get all my friends to play it, but because kids are so stubborn they couldn't get past the name, I remember one of then saying "what kind of stupid name is that? I won't play that." Even now I still can't believe that's what held them back from a pretty cool game to mess around with for the time
Played this awhile ago after getting it off isozone just to see how bad it was despite all those edgy CGI promos I saw in endless gaming magazines at the time. Thank you for making a video I never knew I needed. This game for the time was great, while it aged like whole milk, I dumped probably 100-300 hours in multiplayer in my youth. I remember buying a MadCatz controller just for the ability to crouch / lean faster to get the advantage over other players. I even went as far as customizing my character to a specific way in-order to obtain secret clothing with sick colors for gloves and shorts. Great vid!

God man, I used to absolutely LOVE this game as a kid. I completely forgot about it for so many years and I remembered thinking the story was awesome lmao. But when I was reminded of its existence I knew this thing was gonna suck and I was right to assume so. Not that it has that good of a blueprint to go off of, but I’d love to see this game have a second chance with more competent developers that aren’t trying to make just a cash grab. I’d like to see this game in a decent form so if anyone knows of a game very similar to this but actually decent or even good let me know! That aside, thanks for covering this man, this was such a cool trip down memory lain. It’s not good but it’ll always be an entertaining game that I have a soft spot for :)

I remember always having this game, seeing the case and never being able to play it because it was scratched up. I would just sit wondering how badass it was . Then we would turn on GTA SA and do co-op on that. Man am i glad that it wasn't the other way around 😂
Multiplayer was sick honestly... until EVERYONE learned how to glitch out of the map and shoot people from hidden spots. That's what ultimately killed it. Single player was always trash tho 😂
Those of us old enough to remember realize that this game was a product of its environment. In the mid 2000s, gangster stuff, baggy clothes, going to the mall and rap would be blasting on most stores.
So is no surprise they made this game. I also find it funny how the developers took a few generic names that were popular at the time and gave them to the characters. For example Calderon, in 2006 Calderon was a popular Latino gangsta rapper

Bro, I got this as a freshman in high school and loved it! The multi-player where you can start your own gang and fight other gangs 😂 pure gold. If I were to play this 17 years later though... doesn't hold up.

As a kid I tried to get all my friends to play it, but because kids are so stubborn they couldn't get past the name, I remember one of then saying "what kind of stupid name is that? I won't play that." Even now I still can't believe that's what held them back from a pretty cool game to mess around with for the time

Played this awhile ago after getting it off isozone just to see how bad it was despite all those edgy CGI promos I saw in endless gaming magazines at the time. Ended up having more fun with it then I could anticipate due to the sheer mid-00's jank. Also funny to see the view count is at 25K, what a coincidence!
Man, this game is an under-rated gem, lol. Got a lot of good hours out of this game, and might just have to give it a replay now.

I complete forgot this game existed and thought I remembered 50 Cent: Bulletproof having a section where you played as Sean Paul.
I always thought this was multiplayer only game, as the whole marketing that I've seen in magazines focused only on cops vs robbers deathmatches.
You just had to be there as a lil kid to appreciate this game for what it was back then.
Thank you for making a video I never knew I needed. This game for the time was great, while it aged like whole milk, I dumped probably 100-300 hours in multiplayer in my youth. I remember buying a MadCatz controller just for the ability to crouch / lean faster to get the advantage over other players. I even went as far as customizing my character to a specific way in-order to obtain secret clothing with sick colors for gloves and shorts. Great vid!

God man, I used to absolutely LOVE this game as a kid. I completely forgot about it for so many years and I remembered thinking the story was awesome lmao. But when I was reminded of its existence I knew this thing was gonna suck and I was right to assume so. Not that it has that good of a blueprint to go off of, but I’d love to see this game have a second chance with more competent developers that aren’t trying to make just a cash grab. I’d like to see this game in a decent form so if anyone knows of a game very similar to this but actually decent or even good let me know! That aside, thanks for covering this man, this was such a cool trip down memory lain. It’s not good but it’ll always be an entertaining game that I have a soft spot for :)
