    Pro industry tip- If you're doing this don't pay for the tube. Ask a shop for a popped one cause it doesn't matter that the tube doesn't hold air and shops give them out all the time

    There is something that the bicycle industry could learn from the auto industry,like somehow, someway redoing the bike rims.

    thanks for this! i tried this using some cut out valves from old inner tubes, non-tubeless ready tyres (Scwalbe Smart Sam) and tubeless-ready road rims, and it worked great - used sealant and a track pump, didn't have any problems getting them to inflate

      Hi i can i use normal tyres or do they have to be tubeless ready ? As my tyres do not say so i am guessing they are not

    Anyway, I ordered my stuff through the mail cause the stores near me didn't have it. My stuff should be coming pretty soon. I can't wait!! 😃

    The tires And front wheel arrived... Firs thing Is inflate without sealant with small compresor- no way ho to do that. I take wheels in a car And go to pump station with big compresor. Back wheel set in Brad after five seconds And front.. a must to help with tire lever to síť half way bead in to place. Finnaly it inflates And give me nice sounds. But a tubeless valve sinking air out And a lot. In home i add a sealant with hose in to valve, inflate And sealant do the job. I run tubeless witch zeroflats tape, And bikeworks conversation kit, some Continental crossking 2,3 tubeless tires Are amazing. Its easy when u know how to do it. THX for video And inspiration .thumbs UP

      Im sure there is lots of options on this. Is it the correct way?probably not!! Dose it work?yes it does!!
      Only problem i had was i over tighten the valve nut and pulled it through the rubber, lesson learned not to over tighten the nut!! 👍

    • @HelloHello-hk4sx

      Neither did mine, they refused. One cause they've never heard of it (which is weird since they're professionals). Two cause if they did it wrong & I got hurt, they don't wanna get sued (which would definitely work in my state). So I can't really blame them for not doing it all but they should've at least heard of it, sell some of the stuff (since most of it is used for more than just tubeless) & they shouldn't have been so rude. 😕

  • @spacecalander

    does the tire need to be tubeless or can you use the regular tire for this?

    • @devianb
      @devianb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A tubeless tire will seat to the rim without any sealant. I haven't been able to mount a non tubeless ready tire without sealant. You can use regular tire, but it will take longer to seat properly.

      Hi, thank you, i believe the rim is double walled, its a mavic crossride. Ive just used the valve from a tube but it is a tubeless set up.

    My rim valve hole have been drilled to a slightly larger size so my tubeless valves don’t fit. I wonder if this will work ?

    • @247oggy
      @247oggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      millie li, these mavic rims I have on this bike can be used with both schrader and presta valves they have a plastic insert for the Presta valves, might be worth looking into picking some up, failing that I would try it with schrader valves, definitely worth a try.👍

      Excellent video , you made it look relatively easy , will try the tube valves as I cant get my tyres to sit properly .

  • @powerbeast5691
    @powerbeast5691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did exactly this but there is no way I can get the tire to pop without the tube. When I try to pump it, air just escapes between the rim and the tire no matter what I try. And the rim and tire are tubeless ready.

    £15 for valves aint bad. My supplier is about £10 trade no inc VAT @ 20% but they do come with spare cores, and core key. Joe's no flats.

    • @247oggy
      @247oggy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only problem i had was i over tighten the valve nut which pull the valve through the rubber, lesson learned not to over tighten the nut. Other than that they have been ok but im not a hard rider and this is a 2nd bike which dont get as much use as my main bike which i used bought valves at the time when i first went tubeless.

  • @nathangreenwood7198

    That tape you took off was so it could do tubless... didn’t need to come off

    • @247oggy
      @247oggy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      As far as im aware the original rim tape is to protect the tube from the spoke nipples, but it wouldn't seal the rim for tubeless set up which is why we use tape. 👍

  • @HelloHello-hk4sx

    I thought you were supposed to keep the original tape on too! So far I've had better, faster tips from non professionals. 😒 & here I almost paid over $100 for professionals to install tubeless, NOT including the tools (which are also expensive).

    • @ElectronicPleasure
      @ElectronicPleasure 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well you are wrong, the rim strip comes off. The only tools required is tyre levers
