Thank you very much for the video. Saying that Bosch missed the ball on this was a very kind understatement. I purchased three other appliances besides this dishwasher and have had many problems like this. Instructions are subpar with any of the appliances I bought from them. The construction and materials of the refrigerator and their operation are terrible. I would highly recommend any person considering Bosch look at another brand. I made the mistake of following a brand name and not doing a more thorough research.

Thank you. I’ve been looking for an easy… Easy-ish… System to connect to my under screw granite countertop. The fact that they’re flat made it a pain in the ass but I really appreciate this video

Thank you. I had no idea how to attach the dog-ear brackets to my machine until I watched your video. Then I noticed the slots, and bingo, I was fine.

I just got a Bosch dishwasher. I haven’t mounted it yet. Those mounting brackets are ridiculous. Flimsy and loose in stock form. Also, the side of the bracket you, and all the other vids used as the “ top” side of the bracket, is upside down from the instructions, but when putting them on per the instructions, the dog-ear turns down, and is in the way of the rubber seal, the frame and the door, which makes no sense! I’m going to find a way to mount them solidly, too. Good vid!

Wish I had seen this yesterday.

Why did you use mounting brackets on both the top and side? The instructions that came with my 300 series clearly state when to do a top mount versus a side mount, and also show how to bend the tabs instead of jamming in some sheet metal screws:
    - Note: Before installing the supplied counter top mounting brackets, decide which method of securing the dishwasher into its enclosure will be used.
    - Step 12: Top Mount is used for counter tops made of wood or other materials that can be easily drilled. If you have solid surface, marble, granite, or other very hard countertops, skip to step 13 now.
    - Step 13: Side Mount is used for counter tops made of marble, granite, or other very hard materials that cannot be easily drilled.

Thanks for this video! I believe I have the same dishwasher: 500 Series, Model SHP865W75N. Mine came with the same flat brackets that you have mounted to the top of your unit. These brackets are Bosch Part Number 00619985. (Available for $3 each from Bosch). But, as you have correctly pointed out, they don't fit properly to the dishwasher frame! Also, the installation instructions for this dishwasher do not accurately depict the geometry of the slots in the frame. Very frustrating; you should not need to do a DIY modification to properly install a dishwasher!

Interesting, I went to correct you and it appears my 800 series also has the same noise rating (and basic mounting system). Thanks so much for posting the part number! Greatly appreciated.

Thank you for this video. This step was pretty unclear in the installation manual.

My question, which was not answered, how do you screw into the brackets into the top counter? ( I found a good one on side placements here.) I replaced Whirlpool after three years due to two motor/pump failures. (I did buy second motor/pump through Amazon so the second may not have been company quality). Agree here that the Bosch technical manual is very poor especially on the bracket placement. You would think some of these companies would get one employee to review customer concerns.

Frank, how you screw the top brackets depends on what type of counter you have. If wood or not a natural stone material then carefully pre-drill holes but make sure not so deep as to protrude through the counter top then screw through the bracket into the counter. For natural stone material the counter fabricator or installer should have installed a metal plate with many holes so you can screw through the dishwasher bracket into the appropriate hole in the metal plate (see 2:15 into the video). Oval head sheet metal screw works great for any of the materials. Hope that helps!

DAMN...I respect what you are doing, but point A to point B.?? I am already asleep or moving on.

You're supposed to bend the bracket over onto itself at the perforation, especially for a top control model. Also, I hear Hope Depot and Lowes have machine screws.

Nope, that's for side mounting, not top mounting.

Great start but you didn't show where you screwed into the cabinets on the sides. The video ends with top brackets sticking out "proud" over the control buttons. Does that top bracket disappear from view once the dishwasher is put back under the counter?

Yeah what on earth? This cannot be the correct way to use this bracket. Why does Bosch not have any instructions?

    • @holycrapifoundthem
      @holycrapifoundthem 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

For anyone else reading this...this style of the 500 series is meant to have "invisible" controls; the front of the dishwasher is flush with the cabinetry. They don't extend past the front of the machine.

Rockslide, yes the top bracket is under the cabinet edge so it is not visible. My controls are acccessible with the door open (and past the counter edge), not when closed. Sorry did not show those steps in the video.

Good question, yes the top brackets disappear under the counter and do not interfere or are seen. Same if have the side brackets which disappear behind a black trim material that Bosch has on each side.

I guess my dishwasher is a year newer than yours because the top of the frame is different. I'm still working on finding a way to secure this dishwasher. Their manual leaves a lot to be desired. No photos, just drawings and they're poor at best. It's a little frustrating to be honest. Lastly, I think your video would have come out better if you had held the camera the other way.

Jim, agree on the camera angle, cannot find a way to rotate the video like i can for a picture. Hope the video provides you some ideas to securely mount your top frame albeit different from mine.

My used 2017 Bosh dishwasher was installed for me, but the brackets were not there, so I ordered the brackets. I have them and can not get the dishwasher out far enough to bend the ends once I get them in the slots. I have the legs all the way up and the tile is preventing me from getting it that 1 inch more. So frustrated !

This is a real Bosch engineering fail! Really...take away pay from who designed this. The mounting solution is unbelievably inadequate.
I just installed the same dw last night and have problems with it moving side to side. Those top brackets are really not fit for the job. I've got the side mounts and will need to add those as well.
