As a fellow abuse victim, I know the importance of keeping details private and I can see why some persons might not be the right fit. Wanting to provide safety, a home, privacy, and building trust are all major factors in our desire to foster. To be able to help someone learn how to get an education, communicate needs, and financial success so they can live better than we did have been reasons why we want to foster. If you're not resonating that you shouldn't offer your home to anyone. Thank you for being a light for these kids and for the future of our planet. Many blessings in your journeys.
I have been "thinking" about fostering for a while, just pulled the plug today to take the 1st step. This is a great video. In regards to another person's comments on this video, there is no perfect system, we just do our best. My thoughts: It is within our hearts that we choose to take a chance and open our door and our heart to change the future of our nation by loving a child and all their faults just like they do us. Trust is earned and to provide that to a child who may not trust is a treasure they won't forget. It's up to us to make the change in this world. BE that person.
we tried ... BELIEVE ME we tried, but the case workers are very bad with the kids.. We have foster kids who still contact us and they say being in the system is hell. The case workers are rude to them. We also learned last group we had, where adopted by the Stricklins due to conections with CPS gal and now being kicked out of the house one by one after the money stops !!!!
BE CAREFULL ..., we went through hell trying to foster/adopt. Then to finding lots of other families seeing the same issues !!! We had trouble with agencies like Arrow ..Saffy here in the DFW area. BUT YET WE SEE COMMERCIALS ABOUT NEEDING FOSTER HOMES WHEN THEIRS HUNDREDS OUT THERE EMPTY...We just finally quite after having 4 sisters for quite a while finding out a how easy it was for a foster mom to make up such a bull shit story and the agency just says " Well ..we have to document it !! Knowing the 2 or 3yr old child with special needs..could never in a million years come up with a story that only a smart high school kid can do !!! Talk about being coached to say something.... Days before adoption the case worker Vince Kanic of Euless office, got into it with one of the Therapist and told her its my way or the high way !! and moved the girls. I dont wish this adoption /foster thing on anyone...Children have laws but the case workers laugh at them!! And when meeting with an Attorney we were shocked to be told the case workers manager was "the Spawn of Satin" !!

There are no perfect parents. We just do our best and some days are better than others
