I know you published this years ago, but I watched it a few days before I got my feeding tube and your tips and tricks totally have saved me! The things you say happen, dogs getting caught, doorknobs or other objects catching the line, people thinking it’s oxygen, etc. have all totally happened! 😂 Thank you so much for sharing all of these experiences because the both prepared me for things with my feeding tube but rewatching your video now helps me feel less alone and even chuckle at my own relatable experiences!
Thanks so much for this video. I got my tube placed yesterday and I was looking for a down to earth video just like this one! Not only did you educate me a bit you made me laugh too 😊
I just got a NJ and the best way I can describe the feeling of flushing it is when you wake up after a nightmare and your mouth is super dry and you try to drink water but it’s super uncomfortable.
Just discovered your channel and loove it! I find it so confusing when others don't have any trouble disconnecting the tube from the giving sets. My (NG) tube always leaks out if I don't close it instantly which really sucks because if I want to change or do meds or anything I always have to have tons of wipes at hand bc it will be a disgusting mess - again
I love this video 😊 i just got a nj tube fitted yesterday an not over the initial trauma of the endoscopy it was horrible but im learning fast an can relate to most of these already an im only day 1 lol im gonna do a video over on ny channel to introduce my subs to my tube before i review another movie an just surprise them haha xx
Thank you for sharing this video. I may have to have an NJ tube in the future due to gastroparesis. I also have POTS, EDS, Dysautonomia, Mast Cell Disorder, and Myasthenia Gravis. You helped ease my fear of the tube. I'm still afraid of how it will be getting it in though. Was it bad? Also, you will make a great nurse! I have been one for almost 23 yrs although I cannot work now and haven't for a while. We need good nurses now days! :)
I’m glad you liked the video! I’ve had 3 different NJ tubes put in. One got clogged, one got yanked and the other we took out after I was eating without a problem (after my surgery). The first time it was pretty surprising. I didn’t know what to expect but it definitely wasn’t what I expected. It’s not really painful as much as it’s uncomfortable. The whole part behind your nose and down the top of your throat has a lot of reflexes. So I gagged, coughed and sneezed the first minute 😅. Then it settles down and is just a little ... almost ticklish. But like an annoying this-doesn’t-make-me-laugh kind of tickle. Sorry I make no sense 😅. But it’s not too bad. I would watch my feeding tube hospital vlog. It talks more about the process and how it was for the first time. Good luck! Thank you for the support! I hope to be as good of a nurse as you were one day! ❤️
I have had a NG tube and I have had it for about two months now but I have it in 24/7 I go every where with it sleep shower drive O and O yes the water going though makes me feel like I am drinking but not and the cold water going though your nose down it feels so funny I feel like I got too swallow
Nope! It’s more like feeling content all the time. Sometimes I feel a little full or bloated but that’s usually first thing in the morning after all night of feeding. I have 24 hour constant flow. My mom asks me that all the time lol!

Do you ever feel hungry with a feeding tube since your stomach stays empty?
