i love the lemondrop! Pressing load on every preset protects your sound, but I would adore a “preset preview” mode where you could quickly audition the sound as you scroll past them

Ordered this Granular synth today. I plan on running my DSS-1 samples through it. I have many additive waveforms to choose from. Once I learn how to navigate this incredible synth of course. Great product Gentleman!
Nice job on this and the Fireball, both look and sound(from what I’ve heard so far) pretty killer. I’m not going to ask if any of these features will be coming to the Blackbox, buuuuut… can we get please get some of these amazing UI updates and additional FX? I’d kill for the distortion and ability to apply fx to the line input…
I have asked for a distortion option as that would make velocity changes quite apparent with samples. It would be a great addition in Blackbox if used properly!
Yarp, would love to see distortion/overdrive on the Bluebox or Blackbox... Boss HM-2 style, Chainsaw Acid!.... or just a regular distortion would be grand.

Looks awesome, can we get the pattern parameter for the bitbox micro? I was just playing with spacecraft (which you can define the intervals for the playback pitch of the grains) yesterday and was thinking that would be awesome that my bitbox micro could do something similar!!

Mine will hopefully arrive soon so can incorporate them to my live sets in the club and on TH-cam. One thing I wish though is to have midi over the USB port to rid me of cable tangle. Is this already working or possibly planned?

This box is amazing I only wish the lemon drop was usb compliant so I could process, resample, receive midi/send midi and granulize my iPad apps into this box and vice-versa that would be absolutely ground breaking.
Though not over USB, you can granulate anything connected to the Line Input.
Initially, I prefer the Lemondrop. We shall see.
Don't overlook the fireball. That little box sounds impressively huge!

Had mine a coupla days. Pretty steep learning curve- I expected that with a ton of functionality accessed by just four buttons and two knobs- but a lot of fun. I just need a signal booster to get it to play nice with the modular setup, and there’ll be no limits…
Edit: the buttons and knobs quickly become muscle memory, and running this through Make Noise’s QPAS, Mimeophon and Erbe Verb sounds like nothing on earth. Problem is, I now want a Fireball…

Seems like the amount control for modulation acts like a attenuater. Acting like a attenuverter would be a nice update.
just got mine and it's really fascinating to play with, but 2 quick questions: 1) the sound quality feels a little "hollow" - while I can compensate a bit in the bluebook with some EQ, is this deliberate? 2) what is the "recordings" folder on the SD card for, e.g. will this be for recording from the line in?
Check our forum for the most updated info. I'm not sure what you mean by "hollow" but you are welcome to email us and we can talk. The latest firmware added recording functionality. You can also find firmware on our forum.
thanks a lot for this video is there a way to loop the 20 sec buffer in live input? i mean to fix these 20 sec as a temporary sample instead of have to always refeed the buffer live input. (i don't know if i'm clear sorry)
At this time, no. But that is a great addition to the wish list on our forum. Please add there when you can.

As I understand it you can’t save waveforms from the audio input? Any plans to add this feature?
If not, would it be possible to record audio files on the Bluebox and swap the sd card to the Lemondrop?
Recording could be added. But you can also remove the card from the nanobox and manage files from a computer.

you can achieve va sounds with a wave table synth.
@@G8tr1522 It sounds too digital for me tho. I should have added a va with emphasis on warmth and mod matrix -maybe its possible with the dsp today

@@ME-ru4hv bro, just audio record a VA and extract the samples and put them into a wavetable synth. You get all the character and warmth you need. You realize that wavetables are just like a special purpose sampler, right?
@@G8tr1522 yea, single cycle sampling is pretty digital sounding to my ears. I didn't say ppg is useless but it has a totally different sound and sound design layout. thanks anyway bro

When granulating the live input can you still use both oscillators? Like would osc. 1 be left and osc 2 be right and/or could you use 1 osc. as live input and use the other with a wav. file? Hope that makes sense lol thanks!
Granulating live input requires 1 OSC. So you can granulate (x2) and also use the wave OSC. Plus, add FX!
Does this accept midi over USB (USB Host) or solely via the TRS connections? Also, can you load presets with PC messages?
Only TRS at the moment. nanobox does not accept PGM changes but we are considering that.
Is there a limit on the amount of modulations that can be assigned to Midi CC?

No real limitation. The latest firmware, 1.2.5, adds MIDI PGM Change.
can you swap the firmware out between the two? Say I'm in more of a wavetable mood today, can I load the fireball firmware on lemondrop? Or are there technical limitations there?
No. nanobox firmware is device specific

I am just desperate for a box to be a pocket-sized breakbeat machine. OP-Z doesn't quite cut it, but comes close. PO-31 is a novelty.
You can slice samples in our blackbox or other samplers.
Is it possible to record the incoming audio? If so, is it stored on the SD card?

i have received mine today just one question i have a BG noise on my speakers what's the best solution in order to avoid that ? a ground loop noise isolator ? thanks for your support except that it's a great machine
There are multiple causes and fixes for this. Please contact us directly for support.
I had a buzzing noise when I hooked the USB cable to my powered USB hub so I used an old phone charger and plugged the USB cable into it instead. Problem fixed!!

@@1010music I found something a problem. I was using a Roland d05 and the samples was find just can't played a certain octave above after that to let you know that. 2 octave above when the pitch doesn't work is there going to be more firmware updates on this and wave editing could be added. I couldn't find how to delete a sample.
My lemon drop doesn’t have the onscreen animated grains like all videos I’ve seen!??? It’s hard to adjust the grains without the animations. Why. What’s wrong. It’s brand new. Took out of box and plugged into n. Nothing I do shows me the lines animated like every video I’ve seen.
Also please trim your nails. It’s distracting from the video
Please upgrade to firmware 1.0.10 and you will see the animated grains.

I’m guessing because it’s minuscule, has some DSP limitations, already sounds lush and huge, and because limitation breeds creativity.

each "voice" contains over 100 grains. Voice count can be deceptive in a granular synth.
no thanks. Interesting and innovative for small hardware, but that's what I want and get from software instruments. If these were software instruments I might be interested.
