    0:30 It’s me again, Stimming.

    This made me wonder: Who are you really? 🤔

    With regards to not finding a use for the input, one super cool trick with this box is that you can feed it a monosynth and turn it into a 4-voice polyphonic one! With zero latency! This blew my mind but it works!

    Great showcase again. Anyone can show each and every option meticulously, but few can show what potential it holds.
    To have someone who makes really good music show these machines is so great for that reason.
    And 03.38-03.25, that felt like a seed for a song!

    I'm not gonna lie, I busted out laughing when the producer chimed in with the super detuned voice. I imagine stimming being held hostage by a Chaos Marine, or some kind of massive buff red horned demon a la Legend, forced to give synth impressions within the time limit. I kid though, I really enjoyed the video ❤️ I never was that interested in the lemon drop, but now I'm very curious!!

    Excellent. Love my Lemondrop! I'm especially excited to try and live sample into it.
    Ps The "Gambia harp" is called a kora. Excellent choice for granulation.

  • @compucorder64
    @compucorder64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Sounds very pretty. Good choice of the Gambia samples, they work beautifully, and you get around the fact the reverb isn't great with the natural reverb baked into the sample. For the studio, I think I'll save up for a GR-1. But, then, if I was bringing the sounds live, this would work so well. Agreed on Seventh Heaven. It sounds so good, I just started trying out their Liquidsonics Lustrous Plates, the sound is very good, and it's very configurable. But, for me it's beaten out by Arturia's lush Rev Plate 140 which sounds very realistic. It just sounds very real, if you don't need to customise so much. (Arturia's Dist TUBE-CULTURE is also very very good).

    Beautiful, entertaining and interesting video as always. Thanks to Stimming and all involved. BUT now I am very curious about the briefly mentioned reverb plug-in (Seventh Heaven). I mean, when Martin says that a reverb is good then it's worth a rewiev, isn't it? :)

      Honestly, when you do a 30-40 minutes video and the average watchtime is 15-30% max it shoes that most people don't watch it for long therefor the decision to do shorter videos with more jamming as this is Martins biggest strength. There are many reviews with all details but rarely musical interesting ones.
      And like mentioned it is also a time and budget thing. We are not professional TH-camrs with sponsoring deals, Patreon channels and so on and have to earn money elsewhere.

    As a label owner for about 15 years, I can detect heat in about the first 30 seconds of the song. 15 minutes is all Stimming needs to show us if the gear is capable. I'd take multiple 15 min sit downs over few and far between longer reviews.

    How much of the playing ends up chromatic and how much tends to be just inharmonic soundscapes? I mean among the factory samples, how much of them are suited to be played as chords where one note on the keys is one tone in a scale?

    Hi thanks for the video - interesting and nice evolving sounds - can you easily just play a dry sample with no effects or synth sound and gradually build up the granular effects and add synth sounds ? Was a bit confused about this box thanks so much.

    • @MStimming
      @MStimming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yes you can, but keep in mind that the nature of granular synthesis kind of 'smears' a dry signal a bit, even with long grain times. its not the best for playing clean samples

    If Stimming needs just a couple more minutes to compose his final thoughts on a device, just give him a couple more minutes. The format works, but it will work better if you're less dogmatic about that 15 minute timer. The production cost shouldn't increase because little more time in the end to finish sentences.

    • @MStimming
      @MStimming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      its four voices do make a difference (the bb granular engine is monophonic) and one essential feature is missing on the bb (I honestly forgot which one - I think it was the playhead edit after the start point) but yeah, they are somewhat close to each other.

    • @MStimming
      @MStimming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I do use the granular engine in the bb a lot during my liveset though, mostly for extracted loops which is very powerful and organic and the lemondrop is giving complex textures for transitions...
