Could it possibly be that the time of the changing of the season depends on wether your sim has been to a community lot? Maybe that messes with the time a bit?
it would be nice if some of his paintings could be sold to the general store instead of directly from the easel, same thing if you get him the florist table, that would give the general store more variety 😊

Yeah, the seasons timer is wonky. I can't remember why or if someone has definitively figured it out, but it's definitely not consistent.
