Rwenzururu kingdom reacts to Lt. Gen. Elwelu’s comments on the 2016 Kasese clashes

- Human Rights Defenders have cautioned the Commander of Land Forces Lt. Gen Peter Elwelu about his remarks on the Kasese clashes of 2016 where more than 100 people were killed.
After he was sworn in as a UPDF Representative to the 11th Parliament on Tuesday, Elwelu said the people who died when joint security forces raided the Rwenzururu palace deserved what they got.
Elwelu’s statement has raised concern among the people of Kasese and leaders in the Rwenzururu kingdom.

Kasese deaths don't make news because we lost many officers from these hooligans.. If you can buy sharpen supply and cut people with pangas. Blame leaders of kasese who confused their own. People who haven't been in kasese stop commenting about these issues. Gen Elwelu even delayed the strategy. If he knew earlier no officer would have died.
People are commenting on what he did but forgetting what was happening in kasese, police post being attacked, shops crossing early, homes being attacked, human beings are very difficult to understand.
I'm sure these army MPs will bring their pistols to Parliament, mark my words!
