  • The Iida Line is a Japanese railway line connecting Toyohashi Station in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture with Tatsuno Station in Tatsuno Town, Nagano Prefecture, operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). The line links eastern Aichi and southern Nagano through northwestern Shizuoka. It goes through steep mountains as well as cities such as Iida and Ina.
On the Iida Line, landslides occurred near the 87km point from Toyohashi Station due to the continuous rain from July 7th to 9th, 2020. As a result, the section from Misakubo Station to Hiraoka Station on the Iida Line was cut off.
This is the Ugusu No. 1 railroad crossing, which is closer to the disaster site, and is 90.014km from Toyohashi Station. Here, cargo was delivered between the road-rail vehicle used in the restoration work and an ordinary truck, and the direction of the road-rail vehicle was changed.

This video was taken on September 3, 2020.
The Iida Line resumed operation on September 28, 2020 in the closed section. I have great respect to those who worked for this.
