Well, my personal list of favorite stations (not from newly opened only!)
1) Sokolniki -- for nice historical retro-desing, and memories of the very first days of Moscow metro!
2) CSKA -- nice sports sculptures, etc.
3) Davydkovo -- for nice bas-reliefs about feats of MChS workers
4) Maryina Roshcha -- only station having balls, and balls of steel! )))
5) Nagatinskiy Zaton -- for fishes. Who don't like fishes?? ))))

Thank you for the tour. I live in Washington DC and our metro looks like jungle. Dirty everywhere, old squeaky trains that breaks down often and leaky roofs at metro stations, weird smell of humidity and urine everywhere. That glass boxes in the middle of platform that you showed would be filled with homeless people sleeping in there or some weird guys smoking or doing drugs if it was in Washington DC. Good job Russia!

The best and biggest metro in the world is Shanghai.
It has almost 500 stations, extremely clean and high tech.
Looks like? No, it is a third world country now. I say that with much sadness, as an American. I’m from San Francisco, probably our subway is even worse than yours in DC.

I was talking with a guy from NY a few years ago about metros. When I told him that trains in Moscow metro go every 1,5 minutes on workdays, he looked at me as if I was a child with bright imagination. But this is actually true. Trains go every 1.5-3 minutes in Moscow

It depends on a line actually: the ones more busy during peak hours the trains can have 45sec only.
Я несколько лет назад был в Нижнем Новгороде на станции метро Горьковская, нужно было переехать на другой берег Оки. Так поезд метро я ждал 20 минут! От такого ожидания после московских интервалов в 1 - 3 минуты, я чуть с ума не сошёл)
Moscow has the best public transportation and infrastructure in the whole world. In terms of digitalisation for me this is THE megalopolis in Europe! It s a pity that currently most of Europeans are avoiding travelling to Moscow. I hope times will get better to experience this beautiful city

Hello from Sweden. Our subway in Stockholm has not been developed since 1960s. They bought new trains a couple of years ago but beyond that nothing is done. Moscow's subway looks fantastically great!

I've been to Stockholm and its metro seemed to be pretty cool at least in terms of design and technologies - pretty much on the same level as the Moscow's one to me. Remember that not every station is that modern - look at Tsaritsino station, for example. Most stations still look like local soviet union's terrarium (but can't say it is bad - makes stations more interesting to visit)
And yeah, everything is relative: I've also been to Paris and their metro is way shittier honestly.
That"s a very profitable organisation even with these monstruos investments (the only owner is a moscow gov)

Amazingly clean and well-lit stations, and no druggies, drunks, or litter; beautifully clean and welcoming trains. It's sad that in the US and UK our society is so "third" world when looking at your travels around the Moscow region. Thanks for the glimpse of what it's like in a typical Russian commute from the outskirts to Moscow. Probably not the Russia that most people think of and have been portrayed by Hollywood and media in the west.

Russian metro is so good, there's nothing like it anywhere in the world. In London you feel like you are travelling in a rat hole in comparison. And indeed Londoners call the London underground "a rat hole". Also, in London nobody is watching escalators for safety and indeed you often hear about various accidents, drunk people causing trouble etc. The raised markings on the floor in new Moscow stations are to help visually impaired passengers to find their way.
metro in China is very good actually. I like it very much. Beijing, Xian, Pearl River Delta cities (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan), Shanghai, all of them have very nice, modern, clean, safe, convenient, comfortable, very fast developing metro systems. the only problem is - too much crowd, but, this is problem of whole China. I think best in the world.

Metro in Rome was surprisingly dirty, with lots of graffity and broken stuff. It feels like getting to a stone age after Russian metro (any city). Most European metros are simply scary 🥺

@@darias9969 Belgium is really bad. Because of deindustrialization, which has hit some parts of Belgium very hard. There is a sense of hopelessness and despair in some regions there, and as a result, people turn to bad things--you see a lot of people doing harmful things to themselves in and around train stations in Belgium. Its sad.

А есть ещё Нижний Новгород, Екатеринбург, Омск, Красноярск, Новосибирск и ещё дофига миллионников, у них либо нет метро вообще, либо по одной-две линии, которые не во все районы идут, и люди ездят, хорошо если на автобусах, потому что в основном на маршрутках (которые от телег не то чтобы сильно отличаются). Полноценно развивается только Москва, которая показуха для иностранцев, в остальных городах только поддержка жизнедеятельности, полезных проектов, которые до конца реализуются - очень мало.

It is a heaven for Chicago people too, especially in winter, when you are standing on an open platform, trying to snatch a place under the heater. And instead of showing when the next train is coming, they show a schedule for a few seconds and then, for a very long time, commercials ). P.S. And to compare our Chinese-made trains with narrow seats vs Moscow trains, it is like day and night.
@@_Diana_S Well, Moscow metro certainly beats Beijing and Shanghai metros in terms of train frequency and the architecture of some central stations, all in marble, granite, mosaics and, as you mentioned, the design of seats (Russians are bigger than Chinese anyway). But Beijing and Shanghai beats Moscow metro in terms of total length of the lines, the number of stations, the coverage and the number of passengers per year. But then the population of Shanghai is twice larger than the Moscow population. I know how much our Chinese friends like Ploschad Revolutsii metro station with black sculptures of workers and peasants, military men and frontier guards with dogs. As for Chicago, I guess most middle-class people there use their private cars.

I just tried to compare Moscow metro to Berlin U-Bahn oder New York Subway... they arent even in the same league or in the same world. Just like St. Petersburg Metrostations, pieces of art.
I live in Vienna now, coming from Moscow. And they said Vienna has THE best public transportation system in EU.
So I was excited and had my expectations about it, but when I came here. It's just regular public transport, not much...
They rly should see how it's done in Moscow, if they call Viennese transport "the best"

Это дейстивтельно тот момент когда я находясь в Москве - реально ценю метро и всё что с ним делается. Катаюсь почти каждый день по делам - и это реально приносит удовольствие. Метро До Собянина и после - небо и земля, этот человек вложил всю силу и душу в этот масштабнейший проект, он огромный молодец, реально впервые в жизни не стыдно за свою страну. Он наверное единственный "политик" работу которого видно каждый день.
В год по несколько новых станций, которые выглядят максимально стильно, всегда чисто, всегда всё быстро, новые составы чуть ли не каждые 3 года, никаких задержек, последние лет 10 Метро это реально одно удовольствие, и оно идёт бешенным темпом, Пожалуйста, Собянин - не останавливайся )
Везет вам. А у нас в Питере Беглов. Вот вроде прогресс был, но теперь он вообще ничего не делает. Разочаровал конкретно конечно

The dotted lines on the floor are made for visually impaired people and indicate the direction of movement, they can be felt even through the sole of the shoe. The same dotted lines are at all intersections with stops at traffic lights. The traffic lights themselves are equipped with a sound signal. Also, before the arrival of the train, a sound signal is heard for the visually impaired, and different sounds for trains arriving clockwise / counterclockwise and center-from-center, this also allows blind people to navigate.
The ceiling at Tekstilshchiki station is made in the form of a textile machine, so you can imagine yourself inside an industrial shuttle-spinning machine.

the perforated lines on the floor are for the blind people. you can see these all over the city actually on the streets also so the blind can navigate

I just looked at the full Moscow metro map (stylised like the London tube map) and it is a truly amazing network - I do like the structure of the inner and outer rings with the other lines being like spokes of a wheel. Sadly in London we have lost the “true” Circle Line and you cannot sit on one train to do the full circle.

Да, я люблю все нации и культуры мира .много путешествовал по миру. БКЛ с новой инфраструктурой напоминает метро с пересадочными узлами Сингапура. Там мне нравится ,что туалеты есть и в целом не так многолюдно,как у нас . Очень похожи внешне,но БКЛ очень нарядные и футуристичные . Молодцы Метростроевцы и правительство Москвы❤

There's fish decorations in Nagatinsky Zaton metro station, because it is translated as "Nagatino backwater". Since it's a backwater, it's a place inhabited with lots of different fish species hence a perfect place for fishing.

Medical services are coved by sate insurance. Most people own their apartments (as a result of privatization). Utilities are cheap. Electric and gas bills are outrageously low.

I as a senior year highschooler living in a small town I have friends who are going to study in a university abroad, who have been to Europe or Egypt, for example, but there are also many people like me who can't afford it. For me, for example, bying a piece of clothing for 70-80 usd is kind of expensive, especially if it would last me a year. It's not that I'm asking for compassion or something, just saying that some ordinary items for you in western world are considered luxury in some manner by a lot of people.
I often hear that Russia is the country of contrasts and living there I understand that.

Moscow has the most convenient and efficient metro in travel. For the reason that the radial subway lines allow you to get to any part of the city very quickly. I was actually crazy about the Moscow metro, because it literally allows you to freely travel around the city. Auto and public transport compete strongly, very much.

Нет романтики, не виден темный туннель, в котором начинает виднеться огонек приближающегося поезда, нет приятного волнения от этой мощи состава. А туалеты в московском метро есть, обратите внимание на соответствующие указатели.

Не знаю будет это сказано или нет, но есть приложение для смартфонов с картой метро Москвы. И там также выставляешь откуда ты поедешь и до куда тебе надо и тебе приложение покажет где ты можешь пересесть, если потребуется и на какой станции тебе необходимо выйти. Также в приложении тебе будет указано в какой удобнее вагон садиться и какой вагон менее заполнен. И также в приложении тебе укажет через какой выход тебе будет удобнее выходить, потому что у больших станций может быть до 9 выходов

Станция Рижская открыта в конце 50х, оформлена в цветовой гамме янтаря, названа не в честь Риги, столицы Латвийской ССР, а по названию Рижского вокзала. Который сам 4 раза переименовывался. А его первое название Виндавский, немецкое название нынешнего Вентспилса.
Всего лишь история и никакой политики, и Рига, а уж тем более нынешняя Латвия никакого отношения э этой станции не имеет
У нас есть также станции Киевская и Минская, в честь столиц Беларуси и Укваины
Рассел, для людей с детскими и инвалидными колясками есть специальные работники, которые помогают подняться или спуститься - достаточно нажать на кнопку возле лестницы и придут два человека в униформе.
