being a cna is a great job to do with clients if you like to help older people
Just wanted to let you know, I took my exam yesterday (FL) and passed. Your videos were the reason. My skills were ROM: wrist and elbow. Pulse and Partial Bed Bath. I was nervous as hell but I proceeded just like I saw in the video. Flawless. I called the hosipital to let them know I pass as well. I should have my offer letter early next week. Watch the video's guys. You will pass. I watched each one at least 2 times.
Very Nice! Thank you and Good Luck with your new Career!

Mitzie Green tyvm I take my test tomorrow God bless you
Just view all the skills and you'll do well. I am now 2 classes away from finishing my RN program. Press on
I took my CNA test today, did not take any prep courses and had challenged the test. All I used to study was your videos- I had this skill, measure pulse, and ROM of elbow and wrist and I PASSED!! The test administrator told me she could not criticize or penalize me for one thing, that my skills were perfect and spot on-I have you to thank for that! Thank you so much for making these videos.
Please watch the video again. During the opening, I stated that I was leaving to wash my hands (handwashing is not shown as it is demonstrated in another video), and gloves are applied before I wash the patient's face (although for the exam, they are optional). The wheels are already locked (please see the introduction video for this skill) and raising the bed is not required as many beds in many settings do not have that ability (home care, assisted living). This video is correct.
I think you suppose to raise the bed up to your waist level for good body mechanics.
Yeah, she didn't do that!
Ma’am EVERY test ARE DIFFERENT. There are exams that do not require that you lower the bed. All test examination are different. It will depend on where its taken or WHO is giving the skills test. For example, if you are tested by Prometrics, then you do not need to touch the bed.
That all so
I am happy to hear that you are finding our videos helpful in your training! We wish you luck in your new career!

your video is very professional and its a joy to have the correct and proper way shown on youtube for once
I took my Prometric this morning and this was the hardest skill I had gotten but I just remembered everything you did and I passed! If not for your videos I don't know how I would've done because the class I took wasn't helpful enough with the actual hand on skills. Thank you so much! To anyone studying for your Prometric in the state of Florida, these videos along with the Prometric checklist will really help you to pass. First try at both written and skills and I'm done! Thanks again!
Hands on*
Wow! Congratulations! We are so happy for you and wish you the best in your new career!
There should be a dirty linen hamper within easy reach during the skills exam. If there is no dirty linen hamper within easy reach, you can place the soiled items on an area of the barrier, but keep the dirty items and clean items separated (i.e., on each side of the wash basin). You can then dispose of your items all at once at the end of the skill. This video demonstrates placing the dirty linens on the barrier, away from the clean items. This is acceptable for the exam. Good luck!
Thanks to these videos I passed my prometric cna exam for the state of Hawaii . I even ran out of time on this skill and i still passed ! Thank you so much for the awesome videos
All your videos is helping me in class so much!!!! I have a great teacher but after watching your videos, you make it look easy!!
Thank you for your great comment! It is important to understand the laws regarding nursing practice in your state...great job! Good luck in your new career!
THANKS PATTY! THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS I PASSED MY EXAM TODAY WITH FLYING COLORS. YOUR THE BEST! THANKS AGAIN WITHOUT YOU I COULDNT HAVE DONE IT.
Yes, explaining every step makes the patient more aware of what you are doing and therefore, more cooperative. Put yourself in their position, what would you want to know? By telling them everything you are doing, it eliminates the discomfort and fear of the unknown. YOU know what you are about to do, but the patient doesn't. Great observation and good luck in your classes!
i took my cna test today and all the skills i got i passed with flying colors due to your videos!!!!! i went to Sheridan tech and did the pct program and if i had done what i was thought to do by my instructors i would have failed thanks god for your info and videos you help a lot of people reach there goals
I start CNA classes in a month. Thanks for the heads up on what to expect!
I am so happy that you have found our videos helpful as you prepare for your exam. Tell your instructor to contact us for free training materials! Good luck!
Your videos are very helpful thanks so much! I pass my test!
one of my classmate recommended this channel. It's been pretty good though.I have schedule for the state test this month..kinda nervious..hope i can pass..
Washing from the waist down is covered in another skill called peri-care. The state will not have you demonstrate an entire bedbath because it would simply take way too long. They have divided it up into sections and made each section a separate skill. For the test, the care plan they give you will indicate exactly what areas to wash. This video is prepared according to those standards. Hope this helps!
We are happy that you have found our videos helpful as you prepare for your exam! We wish you the best of luck!
ohh, I have never thought of the side rails considered as a restraint. thank you so much! 1 more week til my exam day.im using your videos for practicing my skill. Very helpful indeed. thank you again!
:)
@deadman5281 Congratulations! We are so very proud of you! We are greatful that you allowed us to help you as you prepared for your test...please tell others about us! Best of luck in your new career!
i test on the 24th of this month, im just trying to review and thank you for posting these videos very helpful for a refresher
Thanks soo much, these skill videos really helped me out. I pass my test last week
These videos are so helpful. I am taking the state test next week in Arkansas. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! We are happy that you have found our videos helpful!
Thank you for your nice compliment. Raising the bed to a comfortable working height is not required for the test and can actually cause the candidate to fail if the forget to lower the bed at the end of the skill (a serious safety concern). To increase passing ability for the exam, we demonstrate this skill without raising the bed. Additionally, many patients in home care or ALFs do not have beds that raise, so students need to know how to perform this skill for those, as well. Thanks!
An informative video and well structured too. All steps are easy to understand.
@StephieG814 I am happy you found these videos helpful! Good luck on your exam!
Thank you so very much. I was freaking out a little but you've made it go away. Thank you.
Good luck! We are keeping our fingers crossed for you!
Yes, if side rails are present. However, the test does not grade on side rail use, which means that even if you use them, you would have had to promote safety as if they were not used. Therefore, having the patient scoot toward you before turning is the appropriate way to ensure that they remain safely in the bed without the use of siderails as they are always in the center of the bed. This is what they are looking for since siderails are not always available. Thanks and good luck!
Glad we were able to help! Good luck on your exm!
Auntie Auntie Auntie.. I love your videos.. I used your techniques. With a lil change to the introduction and PASSED. your the best.. My classmates decided not to watch your videos and struggled.. Not me. The proctor loved your techniques.. 😊😊😊 thank you.
Beautiful is something rare the eyes behold. Thanks for the real awakening
OMG!!!! I took my CNA exam and i passed!!!! Thank you so much 4yourCNA :) i used almost all your videos to review for my exam after taking my class. I'm so excited I get my license soon :) again thank you!!
The dummy doesn't resist or fight back, but believe me, there will be a patient that will resist and give you hell. It does happen.
If the patient is resisting care or "fighting back", you need to report that to the nurse. Patients have to consent to care - performing care on a resisting patient is battery. If the patient has dementia, only individuals trained in working with dementia patients with a calm, reassuring, non-threatening manner should be providing care to minimize patient discomfort. Remember, it's always about the patient, not us. They are patients that need care, not prisoners. If unable to perform care, the nurse needs to know.
Dealing with dementia patients who are immobile should also be the focus in these videos to prepare rookies for the worst, or give you a second thought about becoming a CNA in the first place
I agree that students should be educated on Dementia - however, that should be covered in depth in any CNA training course led by a knowledgeable RN instructor who can dispell myths, provide education and discuss proper interventions and treatment techniques. This cannot be done in a video setting. These videos are not intended to take the place of a CNA course taught by a licensed instructor. They are simply to demonstrate the skills as they are to be performed in a testing setting. Additional training will be provided by an instructor - these videos are for test preparation purposes only. Thank you for your comment.
Danny Vasquez what makes you say second thought?
I just took my test and passed!!!! Thanks to your videos. Thank u :)
For the exam, they only require demonstration on the face, torso, ONE arm, and back. You do not have to wash the other arm (they know you know how because you already demonstrated on one arm), but you do have to dress both arms in a clean gown. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Thank you patty I passed my board exam by watching you all the time ur the best
I will be taking the skills exam again in NYC the demonstration was through and well structured
these videos are amazing, I have been watching them to catch up. I have my test on the 2nd of next month.
Thank you! We are happy that you are finding our resources helpful! Additional resources can be found on our website 4YourCNA.com. We wish you luck as you test!
What a wonderful comment! Thank you! We are happy that you found our videos helpful as you prepared for the exam. We are proud of you and wish you the best of luck in your new career!
We hope you did well on the exam! Although state testing procedures may vary, the general principles of safety, patient rights and infection control remain the same. Good luck!
We wish you luck as you test!
Dont know about florida but prometrics in ny,u would have failed lol, first thing, wash hands before you even start, second, gloves should be worn, third bed should be,raised to waist level and wheels checked to see if they are in locked position, and this is before you even start!!!
Yes, the state considers this an approved method of holding the washcloth. "containing the corners" means that the washcloth is not flapping around. This method keeps control over the washcloth as you use it. It is also the only way to completely ensure that you are using a completely different are of the washcloth for each stroke, preventing cross-contamination. The mitt is an old method, still acceptable, but this new method is preferred. Thank you for your question and good luck!
I wish to say a very huge thank you 🙏 for this video; it’s a huge help 👍❤️
Glad it was helpful!
passed my CNA test last weekend thank you for your videos !
Awesome! Congratulations! We are very happy you found our resources helpful! Best wishes for your new career!
good evening, i like how u show ur skills,, its very helpful to me ,, im getting ready for my cna next month....
thank you so much I'm a first timer so I'm trying to find out all the info I need. Will keep in touch and may good bless you.
Yes, you will use lotion to give a back massage to the patient. I obtained lotion at 9:18 on this video, warmed it in my hands and gave a brief backrub (3 times up from waist in circular motions) until 9:38. Please review the video at these times to view the back massage. After the massage, I used a towel to wipe off excess lotion, which is another important point for the exam. Good luck!
You should gather your supplies only AFTER you have washed your hands (so you have clean hands to gather your clean supplies). Your hands will be dirty after closing the curtain at the beginning of the skill, so wash them after your opening. You can use any name you choose for your patient, but Mrs. Jones works well. You may store all clean washcloths in the water to keep them warm until ready to use but soapy washcloths are not returned to the basin to keep the rinse water clean. Thanks!
Hi, I live in Florida and tomorrow I'm taking my CNA exam. I've watched your video many times. I asked the school if I can take the exam you demonstrate. They said, no. I have to it accordingly to the skills sheet. We don't put a barrier on the table or even a towel under the arm to the keep the bed dry. Your steps seem so much easier. We don't undress the gown in the beginning either. I feel like as though yours is a smoother technique.
This is awesome ! I'm going to have my State Board Exam in next month. I'm sure this's gonna help me so ! Thanks .....
@dee3martinez Thank you for your comment! We are happy to provide this service!
Good luck on your test!
Congratulations! We are so happy for you and wish you great success in your new career! Great job!
These videos can be used for the practical exam in any state since they are demonstrated using nursing best practices. Small details may vary from state to state as to how the test is presented and the specific tasks they ask you to do, but follow the care plan using these videos as a guide on how to perform those steps. There have been many messages left from people testing in California who stated that these videos helped them prepare for the test. Good luck!
Regarding the basin, you should never put anything away wet. As long as the disinfectant dries before you store the item, your method is fine, but if it is still wet, that is a problem. Regarding handwashing, you will need to wash your hands (rubbing for 20 sec THEN cleaning nails) until the evaluator tells you that you can simulate handwashing. When she tells you that, you will then just SAY you are washing your hands, you don't actually have to wash them. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Thanks! I am trained already in medical billing, so I know anatomy and physiology. I have taken a few sample cna exams and have done very well on them. Just teying to get the $ for a program and then get registered. Am already signed up for a CPR class and certification next weekend.
These videos are so helpful I keep looking at them
Thank you for your comment! We are happy you are finding our videos helpful in preparing you for the clinical exam! Good luck with your exam and in your new career!
We wish you luck!
Check with your high school...many offer CNA training right on campus! Good luck in your future career!
If you take 5 washcloths (and the evaluator lets you), you can use them as you described, without reusing the rinsing washcloth. Either way is fine for the exam. You are not being graded on how many washcloths you take, but you are being graded on not re-using the face washcloth, not putting soapy washcloths in the basin and washing, rinsing and drying all body parts mentioned in the care plan. Good luck!
I thought when u do a bed bath you start with the side farthest from you? But overall i love all your videos and am ready for my test in 2 days 😀 wish me luck lol
Thank you very much for your vedio that I passed my CNA first attempt 🙏❤❤
Thank you for teaching 🙌
Thank you for your comment. We are glad you found our videos helpful.
Felix was referring to the state written exam given on the computer. It is given at the testing center you will be assigned to when you register for the exam. The written and clinical components of the test are given on the same day. Both sections must be passed to receive certification. You may visit allcnas dot com and click on CNA registries to find testing and certification information in your state, along with links to the testing agencies for your state. Good luck!
Hey Patty 1st of all I would like to thank you for your videos because they're very helpful and it lets us be more comfortable with the material. I have a question though, I am 3 weeks away from taking the state test in NY & my instructor is saying we don't need gloves for the partial bed bath skill. I think we do need them so I was wondering if you can tell me whether we do or we don't need them? & if you can do videos based on the NYS guidelines laws & regulations that would be amazing :) thnx
The care plan will indicate the areas to be washed in a partial bedbath. A partial bedbath is not defined by particular body parts - it just indicates that something less than the whole body will be cleaned (this can be due to a variety of reasons). Refer to the care plan to determine what areas the nurse wants you to wash. It will vary patient to patient, situation to situation. That is why care plans exist - to personalize care and provide direction to care team members.
This is helping me a lot !! Thankyou so much
you forgot to check her bracelet.
@JenoJen06 Thank you for your comment! You must use a different area of the washcloth for each eye when cleaning the face, with no soap and discard that cloth after use. The washcloth you use on the torso can wash the entire torso without changing leaves because there are no body openings on the torso. We only have to change leaves if we are cleansing a body opening to prevent cross-contamination. Hope this helps! Good luck in clinicals!
she did Awsome job
Thank you! We are happy you are finding our videos helpful but please refer to our newest videos for updated skills performance! Best of luck!
No, I am sorry that we do not have that video at this time. We will certainly consider that task for future video productions! To perform that skill, you would position the patient onto their side (using the technique on side-lying position) and give the backrub then, before placing the pillow roll behind their back that keeps them in that position, then proceed with other pillow placement (please see side-lying position for specific demonstration of pillow placement). Thank you and good luck!
Thank you ms patty I passed my exam today
Yes, Prometric is the only testing agency that administers the CNA exam in Florida. This keeps testing uniform and consistently administered using the same specific testing standards for every CNA candidate in Florida. You may read these standards that you will be tested on by going to Prometric's website for Florida and clicking on the link for clinical skills checklist. This link can also be found on the bottom of our website. Good luck!
We do not currently have a video on measuring height, however we will add that to our list of requested videos! Thanks for the suggestion and good luck!
Thank you for your comment! We are so happy that you are finding our videos helpful in preparing you to care for a relative. The soap is spray soap, or "No-rinse" soap (sometimes called "Peri-wash". It can be purchased in medical supply stores or online in various medical supply outlets. There are many manufacturers, and many variations. They make it easier to clean and rinse the patient without drying the skin excessively. Good luck!
tnx for your tutorial ahm i just notice that you touch the curtain using your elbow,, remember that the curtain is dirty and when you touch it means to say its contaminated already but i learn alot of things to remember with the comments below
Great question. But your gloves are soiled and you don't want to touch the sheet with those gloves (it will go right up next to her face). However, you need the gloves on to dispose of the dirty linen and clean the basin. So, the best solution is to make sure the patient is safely in the center of the bed and covered and explain that you are cleaning up and will be right back. That covers patient rights, safety and infection control principles. Good luck!
Either method is acceptable (the mitt method is actually the outdated method, but still acceptable). Using the "leaves" method ensures that no contaminated area of the washcloth is reused. Holding the washcloth folded in fourths is acceptable, as it keeps the washcloth from flapping around (the intent of this requirement). Good luck!
Yes, you did hear five in the video. The state changed the standard to have candidates only clean one arm for the test, instead of both arms. You needed 5 washcloths previously but now only need 4. You will not be given any washcloths. All of your supplies will be on a linen cart and in the bedside cabinet and it is up to you to choose what supplies you need. You only need 4 washcloths for this skill and the evaluator may prevent you from taking more if they are running low.
I apologize that this was difficult to follow. These videos are designed to integrate with classroom training and that point is covered in our classroom portion. I am glad you find the videos helpful otherwise! Best of luck in your new career!
Best of luck!
