I was just at Springfield Leather this week. Bought some tools, a bag closure and a cut piece of shoulder that I just couldn't resist. The color was beautiful and it was five bucks for 1-1/2 square feet, can't beat that. I have some specific projects I can use it on.
As far as comparisons go, Hermann Oak is a really good product, and if your market can support using their leather, you'll be better off. I'm more of a hobbyist and frankly, I tend to shop for bargains. I am choosy, that's why I physically visit the store and hand-pick what I need. They don't mind at all. I'm fortunate that business takes me to Springfield, so I can make a quick pit stop and check to see what they have available. Take care Bob!

Nice find. I try to get up there regularly. They are making changes to their wholesale program. May force me to go elsewhere for my leather needs in the future.

@@pastorbobleatherworks Could you share what you mean by changes? I don't buy very much annually, but I am considered a wholesale customer. I get the benefit of wholesale pricing on anything except closeout merch.

@@Ray.J They are going to a similar model as Weaver Leather. It's not wholesale pricing anymore, but discounts on volume purchases. The sales guy at the register told me they are moving to that model in the near future. Really sucks for us little guys.

@@pastorbobleatherworks OK, I understand. My suggestion is to contact management with your concerns and see if there is any leeway in the policy. If they understand that they are going to lose business, maybe they will not implement the policy, or perhaps offer other alternatives in order to maintain your account. At least let them know why you are choosing to go elsewhere, otherwise they honestly won't even realize you're gone. Contacting them directly is the only way your voice will be heard. Businesses change over time and certainly SLC will too. But they need orders to keep the lights on!
