Here in Australia it is known as Panadol and Panadol is no good with me as I have a tolerance to it, as I use to take it for migraines and now it doesn't do a thing for me.

There is no such thing as tolerance to the effect of paracetamol or NSAIDs, only to opioids and it varies from individual to individual!

tlhanks, dr. landow. you are thorough as always. one question: why is acetomonphen put in oxycodone and the other prescription opoids? i remember reading a while back that it was a way to impede recreational abuse of the accompanying opoid. is this true.

I don't think i metabolise Paracetamol very well, I find it useless for any kind of pain or fever. Aspirin on the other hand works brilliantly for me and I get relief from all manner of moderate to even severe pain (in some situations) as well as control of high fever. I'm not sure why it works so well for me..I do take a soluble version which may expedite absorption but even so...it works really well regardless of the form. For whatever reason, I don't get much relief from Ibuprofen or Meloxicam where Naproxen works quite well for me. My body is obviously quite fickle, eh?

No, it's actually a common thing that different NSAIDs work differently for every individual, for me ibuprofen and meloxicam are completely useless while ketorolac and lornoxicam work quite well. I've never tried Aspirin though believe it or not!?
Paracetamol is also effective for pain in my case thankfully.

I was definitely taking more than 4000mg for 45 days when i was working as a cart attenendant. It was all i could do for any pain i felt at the time. It was possibly the worst my body had ever felt. I only ever contributed the pain from my shitty diet.

I do like this guy's videos. He's very comprehensive. But I will tell you, it is asinine Beyond stupidity to blister pack acetaminophen. It adds to the cost dramatically. It's a cheap and affordable compound. Why do governments try to screw up the consumer's ability to medicate themselves by mandating stupid things like blister packing acetaminophen ? There's plenty of information out there for the consumer to properly use this. This video is just one example of a million that tell you how to use acetaminophen. Governments, get out of the way.
