ABOUT BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" follows the exploits of hilarious Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and his stoically ever-professional captain, Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), along with their diverse, lovable colleagues as they police the NYPD's 99th Precinct. In this final season of the series, Jake and the squad must try to balance their personal lives and their professional lives over the course of a very difficult year.
Rounding out the ensemble is Sgt. Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumera), who has a passion for organization and a weakness for dork dancing; Lt. Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), a mountain of a man whose most powerful muscle is his sweetheart; Jake's best friend and human puppy dog, Det. Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio); and the incredibly secretive, tough-as-nails Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz). Also part of the Nine-Nine are veteran officers Det. Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Det. Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker), whose only skill as police officers is their ability to make a passable pot of coffee.
Created by Emmy Award-winning writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" won the 2014 Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical (Samberg). Emmy winner Braugher earned four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Capt. Holt.

I always liked the detail that whenever there's an emergency situation Rosa is the first one to go for alarms or fire extinguishers showing how seriously she takes her job.
So seriously that she quit when she saw how corrupted the police force is

It shows that she was serious about protecting others, which makes sense. Has nothing to do with her job, but her protective character.

Holt's cold open is absolutely perfect. The sheer brazen audacity to tell jake the truth with photo evidence solely because he knows no one will ever believe jake is just hannibal lecter levels of sadistic genius

Not a cold open, but for Gina the scenes of her helping pick out an IT guy would also be good. Shows off how she seems random and disinterested, but she's actually just as smart as any of the detectives.
Or the scene where she wins the Halloween heist.
Or the one where she is at holts party and all the psycologists are studying her

I agree. I personally think that Rosa's scene didn't fit her very well. I hoped it would be a scene that showcased a little more of how scary she is and her anger. That engaged scene with Adrian describes their relationship perfectly, but not Rosa as much.

another great thing about these is that the cold opens also sum up all the other characters' personalities when interacting with the specific character. b99 is a comedy masterpiece
I love that Nikolaj calls Charles "Papa" and I love that Charles calls him "My Little Pierogie" 😊
Terry's is made all the better because Terry Crews used to actually be a pro footballer (and painter...not related, I just love his photorealistic painting style)

funny you mention the painter thing, in the episode where jake and terry compete with amy and boyle to see who can catch the most convicts and who between amy and jake gets to keep their appartment, Terry laments at losing space for him to paint
Gina throwing a stapler at Boyle will never fail to crack me up. Dunno why it's so particularly funny to me but it just kills me

I kinda think no pants is better suited for Jake, cause as much childish as he is, that scene shows how good of a detective he is without even trying.
I wouldn't vote for now number 5 scene. It just shows his goofy side. Detective Jacob Sherlock Peralta scene shows only his detective side. The soup scene is a perfect mix of both.
I think Gina’s scene is actually the scene that summarizes every character 😂
Holt destroying Jake just for the fun of it is one of my favorite scenes in the whole show, which, I watched entirely about 8-9 times.
At 4:51 I like how Rosa laughs in the background when Charles gets hit by Gina
That scene summarises Jake perfectly: stupid yet brilliant, and trying to come up with any excuse to goof off.

Sometimes they seem kind of unhealthy, but they know each other and can act as equal friends. Specially love when Boyle and Jake agree on cool nicknames/codes/plans and work together as true best friends

I discover a new thing about a character every time i watch this show, it's not all same each time, does anyone else feel that too??
That's what dialogue in a comedy should do. Every line should do at least one of these things, but preferably more:
exposition
advance the story
reveal something about a character
be funny
Hitchcock and scully being included as one person is so real

It sucks that I love Amy Santiago so much that I can't watch Melissa Fumero in anything else. Like, if she was in another show with a love interest I'd feel like she was cheating on Andy Samberg, even though he's married to the cellist who called him ugly in the last episode haha.
