How did you keep the GoPro charged the whole flight? I've just bought one this week and i'm loving all the timelapse videos! Did you just use skeleton housing with a power bank, or is there a better alternative to keep the GoPro recording?
+BonesandWolves Skeleton housing with a 25000mAh when there is no onboard power, or connect to USB on the aircraft when it's available :)

From all of the flight videos that has songs in it, this is the best one I've seen so far! Better music - it really fits and so spot on for flights, unlike the other boring non-copyright musics

+giannagq I film the entire flight in real time and then just speed up the video :) The GoPro does have a Timelapse option too though, which may be easier if you don't have the space for 9 hours of video! Look forward to seeing it :)

I'm contemplating doing a 'Full Flight Lite' set up on the longer flights, showing the key parts of the flight cut down to about an hour, kind of a combination of real time and timelapse. is this the sort of thing you'd be after?

+Swasse OMG Now that is a can of worms! :) I have to say I'm more of a Boeing man. Not for any reason other than my favourite planes to ride on are all Boeing. Airbus are nice (especially the A380) but give me a shiny new 777 over an A330 any day :)
NICE!!! If i may add a suggestion: Why don't you slow down the timelapse to around 4x or 8x on takeoff and landing for better experience of those, and on the more ''boring'' stuff a timelapse like you had!! I know I would like that better :)) maybe others share my opinion. BTW awesome timelapse!! Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Thanks for the suggestion, the ones I've done more recently I've slowed it down a little on the ground and sped up the in flight section a little to suit the music, I've got another coming this Friday so hopefully you will enjoy :)
Really?? Same Route?? - You know, one really awesome route to do is the new Emirates one: Dubai - Auckland (16 hours + ), that would be really something special to watch in timelapse! :)
Different routes. DUB-PHL, PHL-LAS, LAS-DFW, DFW-PHL, BHX-DUB, DUB-BHX, EMA-CCF, CCF-EMA are all up next :)

did you guys fly over greenland or somewhere with lots of snow? i was trying to figure out if that was snow or just a lot of clouds
+James Steinberger No we actually took a pretty southerly routing on this crossing - out over Shannon and hit landfall over Cape Cod, it was just solid cloud at some points of the flight!

That's impressive, thanks for your response quick question, I'll be traveling from Los Angeles to Miami and I wanted to make a time lapse I think they look super cool and would be a nice way to start a video I'm making for my family to see my trip, is there a reason you record a video instead of the picture mode time lapse other than you want to have both versions? Is there a difference in quality what do you recommend a newb like me goes with picture or video?

What settings do you use in the time lapse, I am going to attempt to create a wedding video, and wanted to do it for the beginning as it is abroad? Any recommendations the flight is four hours?
Hi there, I record the full flight and then just speed it up in Premiere Pro. I power the GoPro with an external battery pack and use a 128GB MicroSD card. Hope this helps :)
Hi what setting did you use on your gopro? also how did you manage to maintain battery life? I just got the hero 4 black and I'm interested in timelaps. I'm going to Mexico from Michigan in a few months and I want to do a laps of the trip and I'm worried about the battery dieing.
+scooter0241 Hi, I just film the entire flight in real time and then speed it up afterwards. For this one I had to speed it up twice since even at the maximum Adobe Premiere will speed it up (5000x) it was still 15 minutes long! So I had to speed it up 5000x and then speed that file up if that makes sense. For battery life, I use an external battery pack. 25000mAh gets you around 36 hours on the GoPro, so even if you bought a 10000mAh one it would be more than sufficient for your Michigan to Mexico trip :) Look forward to seeing the video!
+inflight Video what size SD card and brand do you use? right now I have a 65gb and I feel like that wouldn't be enough space to record a 7 hr long video. ha
+scooter0241 I use 2 X 128GB. On the Hero3 that gets you 18 hours of 1080p/30, on the Hero4 it gets me 9 hours of 1080p/60. When I got my first a year ago, it was £80/$120, I just bought my second for £30/$44 for the exact same model!
This is irrefutable prof of a none globe world, flying from east to west, camera pointing North and sun in North position, sun shouldn't be visible at all, wrong position and wrong angle
I was in Heathrow in the airport for my flight and the people that work there treat you like shit never want to go there again
especially security
I've had bad experiences at Heathrow too. Security can be hit and miss, I've had very rude security people but then I've had really nice ones sometimes too. One of my friends works security at T3, and he has to deal with some very rude customers so I guess they just start to treat everyone the same. Sucks really. Smaller airports are much better for security, East Midlands, Birmingham and Doncaster all have really friendly security people.
inflight Video Yeah only about 2 people there were nice at least but overall not so great

Galanoris RS if you make it to first/business class you'll see the the way they treats you (like a king/queen if ur a child and or young teen but a prince or princess if grown up)
