    FYI to all the nay sayers here, it's been 3 years the mower Runs Perfectly still no issues with CVT Transmission WHAT SO EVER.
    Maintenance on any lawn tractor is a must ,neglect is suicide. I've done 3 oil changes and have 200 hours on it. I've ran thru 4 sets of blades. Still running on stock belts. I recently bought a dust cover for the CVT I will install it soon. Thanks for commenting and Please Subscribe.

    I have a older craftsman LT1000 standard shift! It’s a great mower and does the job of two big yards very well! But it is old and not any accessories available for it anymore! I saw this Polan pro at sears today and I like it! Really nice tractor! I do think there could be a place to put your smokes or phone but other than that I think it would be a great buy ! Thanks for the video!

    Nice review bud, I'm glad you mentioned the CVT compared to hydrostatic. I've seen the hydro being advertised as good for hills and obstacles but i haven't owned either. I've heard about the hydrostatic being much more complicated but also the CVT's developing leaks around the axle seal. But after your review I think I'll shop for the CVT. Thanks again

    probabably wont believe me I just bought same tractor without the deck from home depot someone backed into the hood for $347.00 out the door, same night I went on craigslist and found 2 46 inch decks complete for $50.00 like brand new guy said his wife made him sell them.. what a steal

    I bought same one last Year in May from Home Depot my steering wheel had one cut in it also probably from when they crated it. It should of came with the deck wash nozzle the model in the store has one installed. Mine was missing it so I called them and they shipped me one. They also forgot to install the center steering wheel plastic cover and they shipped that also. It’s an awesome mower.

    • @markythunder
      @markythunder  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool, I had to purchase my washer the ones at the store didn't have it on it but in the advertisement it showed it had one . also as I may have spoken in the video don't remember now my steering wheel had cuts from being in the crate and I asked for a new one they gave me a new one. I do have the new one, actually I never installed it . I've been driving it for almost a year now with the old steering wheel on with the gloves on and my hands have kind of smoothed out the rough edges and now I don't even need to wear gloves anymore I'm just probably going to put it on a later date when the original steering wheel fades or gets worn, glad you like the lawn tractor I love mine.

    It seemed great when I bought it. Until the plastic transmission failed immediately after the warranty had run out. When I took it to the repair shop, there were several other ones there with the same problem. Some of them were still under warranty and Poulan Pro was making it difficult to warranty the repairs to this known failure point. Beware of that awful transmission. Having it replaced is half the price of the new tractor.

      That's pretty bad I'm sorry that happened to you in the early years of those CVT transmissions they had issues they've since been improved.

    • @thomasjj1976
      @thomasjj1976 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was all this month.
      Replacement trans is between $400-500.
      It's critical that you routinely remove the battery tray and clean that transmission of debris.

    • @markythunder
      @markythunder  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thomasjj1976 correct Thomas you got to clean that area out every time you mow it is critical it is based on the old snowmobile drivetrainhowever that belt is warrantied for 10 years if you had to pay for that belt I'd seek getting some money back cuz poulon Pro does warranty that geared belt for 10 years.

    I just got a used one. Leaking seals. My questions for you is when its in neutral and you push it. Is it normal for the transmission to make noise? Does mine transmisson need to have grease added? Or is noise normal

    • @markythunder
      @markythunder  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will make a gear whine and that is normal.

    Bought a Poulan riding mower in 2018. It was $1100.00 plus at Home Depot. Took it home and had to take it back to Home Depot in 24 hrs. There was a problem with it? I can't remember what it was. My husband returned it and they gave him another brand new one. This mower has only been used like under 20 times during each year. We cleaned it very well and it always looked brand new. About two weeks ago my husband told me that the pedal or lever that makes the mower go in reverse would stick. He said that we needed to get it to a shop and get it fixed. I told him before that I would not pay over $300.00 to have it fixed because I felt that the mower was never abused and that three hundred dollars was 1/4 the cost of the mower. The year I bought this, Home Depot had Poulan riding mowers all over the front of the store and inside. I commented to him last spring that there wasn't a single one out front or inside. I asked a sales person why? and he said Home Depot is no longer carrying that line. I said "really!". My husband called Poulan and talked to a rep from the company to see if that part was under warranty. The sales rep gave us five different names of repair shops in our county that fix Poulan mowers. Two places we called were like "we don't repair them" and one guy didn't really want to be bothered. The third guy said bring it in and we require a $50.00 deposit. We drop it off and the guy calls us and says that the pedal works when the mower is cold but that the problem is with the Transmission and it was not covered under warranty and it would cost me $800 for the part and $300 for labor! He even said the mower looks brand new. Do the math. That quote is the cost of the mower. This guy said that he doesn't like dealing with warranties with that company because they make a habit of not getting paid by them. I am beyond furious and I told my husband that "that is it! I'm not throwing away anymore money on another riding mower!" I told him I'll buy 8 hand mowers for 159.00 each if I have to and mow 1/4 of my two acres by hand everyday before I throw away money! My husband's health is not good and bought this for him. I already been mowing 1/3 of the property by hand while he was on the riding mower. America make better freaking products and back up your products. No excuse for this! Poulan is no longer making riding mowers or the company may have shut down? Just found out my sister-in-law bought my brother one and had to take it back also! BS!

      How unfortunate, mine works great.
      Tractor supply now carries them as Home depot changes vendors frequently. Also poulan pro is still being manufactured in North Carolina I'll send you the link for their warranty,anything that goes wrong with the drivetrain is warranty for 2 years that includes the transmission.

    If the forward and reverse gets hard to shift, take out the battery and case, you will see a groove that the shifter moves back and forth in on top of the transmission, make sure there isn't any dirt or debris in the groove hindering the shifting action.

    Is there any type of transmission fluid or grease to add or replace in these? I always do on my hydros even if they don't have a drain. I do have some type of oil or grease slowly seeping out the axle /housing ends. Any info on this drive system even if they say no service? Any info appreciated, not much on the internet on these about the transmission making it to not have problems.

    • @markythunder
      @markythunder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you may have an axle seal out if that's where it's coming from the transmission is sealed from the factory I've never had the service mine mine I believe is 4 to 5 years old now I haven't had any issues. But if you look up I believe it is RS 800 CVT transmission service here on TH-cam somebody will have serviced one. I BELIEVE AT ONE TIME A COUPLE YEARS AGO I DID SEE A VIDEO OF SOMEONE SERVICING THEM GOOD LUCK I WISH I HAD MORE INFORMATION FOR YOU.

      To the left of the steering wheel and just above the throttle lever is a flip switch you just flip it forward the headlights come on and flip it back they turn off.

They're factory warranty for 2 years. You can buy them for $50 all day long the rebuild kits. I have two sitting on the shelf right now for when mine goes.

    Turn your phone sideways when filming. I want one but their website scares me to death. Reviews show all kinds of problems with getting them repaired, transmission problems, plastic parts, problems within the first year of ownership. I think I am going to go with a Troy-Bilt.

      have the same CVT RS800 transmission. I've had this 2 years now no issues at all. But get what ya like I say . Thanks for watching I have another video on here about it too. Please subscribe.
